Ryan Gosling GUSHES Over Eva Mendes In Award Speech at Santa Barbara Film Festival

- Ryan Gosling is gushing over the love of his life thanks to movies. The 43-year-old actor was awarded the 16th Kirk Douglas Award for Excellence in Film at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Jan. 13 and he gave a special shoutout to Eva Mendes and their two daughters. "Most importantly, I got to meet the girl of my dreams, Eva Mendes, and have two dream children. I dreamed of one day making movies, and now, movies have made my life a dream," he said. Ryan's entire speech was dedicated to films and the impact they had on him starting off as a young child, thanks to his mom, Donna Gosling. Elsewhere in his speech, the "Barbie" star thanked the two people who introduced him, "Barbie" director Greta Gerwig and his "Crazy, Stupid, Love" co-star Steve Carell, revealing why they both have been pivotal people in his acting career.

Honestly, I’m just Ken stole the entire movie. It was what “movie magic” is all about. When all the stars align and but for the right people, could have been a disaster. But, it was what movies are made for. That musical number will go down as my favorite musical number of all time. It combined so many fabulous movies all into one epic moment.
I also appreciate his Mormon roots that influenced every aspect of his life. It is hard to be gobbled up in the world and practice the faith he was raised in. I appreciate his talent and accomplishments and hope he can maintain his spiritual roots through it all for himself and his daughters because that is what will keep him grounded through all the accolade of Hollyweird.

I am so glad he got an award for singing, it was such a good movie as a musical and when watching the movie I had the feeling that Ryan really deserves something for this performance! From Margot' side to me Nellie LaRoy is the character who is the queen of showbusiness, Babylon is the movie of the decade, it makes me very emotional. (And not Oppenheimer which I will never watch due to the sex scene. With Babylon it is different, it is about hedonism, but in Oppenheimer I don't accept any sex scene.) A few months ago on a movie-marathon I intentionally watched Barbie then Babylon after each other, I wanted to see Margot in 2 extreme roles. :)
