- The Addams Family movie stars Anjelica Huston, Christopher Lloyd, Christina Ricci, Jimmy Workman, and Carel Struycken took the stage at L.A. Comic Con 2024 to talk about the film and the sequel, their experiences, and to answer fan questions.
Anjelica Huston was Morticia Addams in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. She is also known for roles in The Witches, Ever After: A Cinderella Story, The Grifters, Trollhunters: Tales of Arcadia, Smash, Medium, The Mists of Avalon, Lonesome Dove, This Is Spinal Tap, and many more.
Christopher Lloyd played Uncle Fester in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. He is also known for roles in the Back to the Future trilogy, Clue, 12 Monkeys (TV Series), Taxi, The Mandalorian, Dennis the Menace, Angles in the Outfield, Deadly Games, Spin City, Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, and Who Framed Roger Rabbit? to name a few.
Christina Ricci is famous for Wednesday Addams in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values, and is also well known for her roles in Casper, Monster, Buffalo ’66, Cursed, Pan Am, Now and Then, Speed Racer, The Lizzie Borden Chronicles, Black Snake Moan, Sleepy Hollow, The Matrix Resurrections and Yellowjackets. She also had a role in the Wednesday series on Netflix.
Jimmy Workman portrayed Pugsley Addams in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values and is also known for Matlock, As Good as It Gets, The Biggest Fan, and more.
Carel Struycken was Lurch in The Addams Family and Addams Family Values. He is also known for his roles in Men in Black, Twin Peaks, Gerald’s Game, Charmed, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, and many more.

It was really cool of Christina Ricci to do this panel in character as Wednesday Addams! She looks like she's about to ask Christopher Lloyd to pass the salt... NOW.
She's even wearing a similar-patterned outfit to the dress she wore in the films. And look at Lurch! He showed up in full makeup!
Would have loved Joan Cusack and Carol Kane, who both gave really good performances in Addams Family Values, but this was still a fun reunion.

This is maybe the only time when the original TV cast and the movie cast are equally great in their own way.

Cristina looks like she was in pain - especially after the moderator asked her about being a bridge between the movies and the new Wednesday show. She could easily have embraced that idea, and been gracious. Anjelica, the legend, does a great job of helping drive the interview along.
I don't think Christina is fully on board with the idea of a Wednesday show. The character means a lot to her
Bare in mind she joined the show quite late into the production, Thora Birch was originally playing the role as Christina was busy with Yellow Jackets and was pregnant. When Birch had to leave the production, they were able to bring Christina in last minute in a short production window. I'm sure she loved being part of the show, but from her mind it was a side job she did as favor for a friend (Tim Burton) in between new motherhood and another full time job, so her experience is just different than how an audience sees it.

I don't know who is asking them the questions offscreen but he isn't really great at it and yeah they look really bored but still great to see them it's too

Trying to get answers from them was like pulling teeth, they looked bored being there.
Well 2 of them were kids and the other 3 are older so they are a bit slower and the kids were very young so the panel had a slow pace
I just felt like the moderator’s questions and comments were a bit lacking and shifting the energy to feel awkward

There seemed to be a reverse curse with the Gomez actors. While Raul Julia passed the year after the sequel was made- John Astin lived the longest and is the only cast member from the original series still alive (as of this writing)in his 90's.
I thought the host asked very insightful questions the entire interview. No awkward vibes at all IMO. I think the actors here have all aged quite well, as a whole, as well, considering Christina and Jimmy are exactly my age, 44, and I remember seeing both parts of this movie duo in the theaters fresh upon their releases 30+ years ago now. Amazing it has been that long since, now.

It doesn't matter where I am or where Raul Julia is, but I'm ALWAYS asking questions about Street Fighter, which is Hell for most people and coincidentally where Raul Julia probably is.

There's a hole in the family where Raul Julia should have been. Hearing the stories told about him and everything I've read online about him it sounds like he was an incredibly lovely man.
I've had the absolute pleasure of meeting Christopher Lloyd and he was a pure delight. So friendly and gave off such grandfatherly vibes. I got to give him a big hug which will be a fond memory for many years to come
the interviewer/host did a really good job considering the cast was giving Nothing at all, his energy was welcome and he rolled with their punches, it's like the cast didn't know how special this event was

Should casts from beloved films and tv series do these personal appearances? Little Maria (Marilyn Harris) from the 1931 Frankenstein would not do personal appearances when there was a nostalgia boom for the film in the 80s: "As far as Frankenstein goes, I have a theory: that people remember the sweet, innocent little girl. And I think its cruel to put an older woman up there. It would destroy it for me, and I don't think its fair. That little girl should be remembered as she was - loving, and trusting. That's my belief."
People aging is a fact of life. Nothing wrong with it.

These are some of the most atrocious and least nuanced questions I've ever heard. Imagine knowing you're going to be talking to industry veterans, who also happen to be incredibly skilled screen actors, and these are the foolish questions you "prepare." Just painful.

The questions were a bit uncomfortable in the beginning, it wasn’t talking about Adam’s Family instead it was like asking for a eulogy

interviewer is pretty terrible. jumps too quickly from question to question, interrupts prematurely, doesn't actively listen to engage but waiting for people to finish their answers so he can jump to another unrelated question on his list. the cast deserved better

@@x90001x I only watched the new BEETLEJUICE once and found it very disappointing… I don’t see any real connection between what I’ve suggested and that movie but there were so many plots going on in that movie that maybe that was in there somewhere
