For anyone wondering why the other person working there is called “Senpai” this does not, unlike how many believe, mean beloved or crush or anything like that. In Japan it simply means upperclassman or higher up, so the man is called that because he is a higher level in the job then Lauren.

For anyone who wants to know what the Japanese text between transitions are:
They’re actually dates! For example, at around 10:35ish, it says 11月15日. 月 has a variety of different meanings, but in this context, this kanji means ‘Gatsu’, indicating which month it is. So, it’s November as November is the 11th month. 日 also can be used in several different ways, but this kanji, used in dates, is ‘Nichi’, which you put after what day of the month it is. It can also be ‘Ka’ but that’s for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 14th, 20th, and 24th days of said month. So, the date is November 15th. As someone who has worked at starbucks this is both painful and hilarious to watch.
