First time I built one, I made the mistake of using tac-cloth to get the dust off the body - nitro won't stick to it due to the oils/fats in left behind from the tac-cloth. To solve this (and maybe to save nitro costs too) for a primer/first/sanding sealer coat, you can use shellac. It will spray over pretty much any surface, and then a nitro color coat over this will stick/adhere to the shellac. It worked well and I didn't notice any detachment, blushing, or any other abnormalities.
Hey Mate!!! I have the full build here at this playlist: th-cam.com/play/PLfMipPP1wHRZxAxKmEDzqgQcY42LTxHi6.html It would be great to have a Luthiers comment! hahaha I did lots of wrong stuff on my build, but I am still improving it! Next month I will release new upgrades to it!
It is an amazing learning exercise! I have also a spare ST Kit waiting to be customized here. Probably I will do a next project on the channel when this one will be done!
It also works! But it costs incredibly higher, even if you will go low cost like Waaah Replacement Parts. But if you don't like woodworking and mainly PAINTING, you have for sure the best option! 🔥🎛️

I didn’t even know that Harley Benton made kit guitars. As a luthier. I’m interested as to what you come up with on this kit 👍🏻

Really enjoyed this - I also made a Harley Benton Tele, though I went for the solid body, and now thinking what I'd do differently next time.

👏👏👏👏👏
Got yourself a new subby!
Welcome my friend! 🙌🏻🎛️🔥
I would just buy a nice neck and make your own body, and choose what high end pickups you want a wiring and pots in.

Keep going bro.
Thanks a lot mate!! Next episode will be out on Sunday!! Keep tuned! 🎛️🔥
Is that an Ibanez TSA in your intro clip?
Yep! Spot on! Anyway it is not mine... unfortunately... hehehe 🎛️🔥
This is great but having to cut the headstock is a deal breaker.
You can try some of their kits that have already the headstock shape, like the PRS ones or the Single and Double cuts! Hope it helps you mate! 🎛️🔥
i dont know why people expect a perfect guitar body when they order a kit... youre supposed to work on it!
Makes sense! 🔥🎛️
