yeah we were absolutely roasting paimon in the rana world quest but like... it just did not sit right for a while cuz i thought of paimon crying the entire time
I dare to say that Koga did cry and let it seep to her voice both to characterize Paimon herself, and conveying her care towards the travelers (Aether and Lumine) when they're gone.
This. This is why I always choose the kindest dialogue possible with her. She sounded so hurt and helpless I had to take a minute just to process it. It genuinely felt like I betrayed her and it triggered memories where I also got abandoned and hurt.
Not gonna lie, KR one was surprisingly really good. I understand nothing that she said, but I can feel the sorrow in her tone. Gotta give the VA the praise she deserves. Though, my favourite is still JP, I even cried when I play it in the game (I understand English and Japanese, and very little Chinese. But 0 on KR)
I play with JP VA and I thought that snippet of Paimon crying to Kosekimaru was sad enough, this scene had me tearing up. Koga really nailed the emotions
People may dismissed the CN but honestly, for me it sounds the most realistic. I have alot of siblings and that is exactly how they cried. It kind off bring back my big sister Energy :(

Paimon's Japanese voice and Korean voice sound almost exactly the same. If I didn't know Aoi Koga was Paimon's JP VA and someone told me that the Korean and Japanese voice actor are the same person just speaking different language, I would've believed them!

When I stumbled upon these JP dubs though, I was also amazed. JP dub definitely did a really good job, especially in this sobbing scene. Personally, I can feel it stronger than the EN dub. Next time I'll definitely try JP dub.

I know probably I'm biased bc of having heard it so many times, but istg even after hearing all the others, I just feel like the jp va is the best. Best fitting voice for Paimon and also best acted out. She sounded sad, she sounded angry, she was screaming bc of her strong emotions without it being too loud or annoying. And truly her voice just really seems the best fitting for Paimon to me. And it's not a being used to a language thing rlly bc I've watched the same amount of kdramas that I've had animes, and I also watched some cdramas, so it's not that. I actually really enjoy hearing them talk but for some reason hearing actors in a drama feels different from hearing voice actors in a game. But we know jp va's are just a thousand times more experienced in voice acting thanks to anime, at least that's how it looks like to me. Japanese people always have such strong, potent voices and their screams in particular are always so wonderful. They really shine when voice acting. For example I heard Collei's scream in the english voice acting and it felt nothing like the sheer terror scream that the jp va managed to do. It literally jumpscared me bc I was looking somewhere else and I'm not easy to fright. She really sounded terrified to death. I love it

Chinese version was so realistic. When i played through this for the first time and i had chinese on. Paimons voice just took me straight to the days when i was a nanny for 5 kids ages 3-7
I'm personally impartial to the english and japanese dub. I know many people don't like Paimon in English... I may be bias as I've traveled with English Paimon since launch... I prefer English. It's not as bad as people think. I honestly think the problem lies mostly with the fact you can understand what she's saying verses knowing how said lines should be delivered. That said all 4 languages do a stellar job. :)
Thats where u'r wrong bucko, i (mostly) understand chinese, and my biggest problem with eng is that she speaks to us like dora, not an actual person. Then again, it could be because of translation issues, since cn & jp (idk bout kr) loves to repeat sentences naturally. Same example with metal gear solid

I didn't focusly pay attention about the Archon quest I was utterly behind. Now I understand the story even more. Imagined being alone and that felt you actually alone. Paimon VA AKA Kaguya-sama Love is War actually nail it. Don't get me wrong. it is very saddest moment alone Furina Archon quest. But I think I have experience way more than brutal than that actually delete my heart. But this is still very brutal.

Chinese version was so realistic. When i played through this for the first time and i had chinese on. Paimons voice just took me straight to the days when i was a nanny for 5 kids ages 3-7

I'm personally impartial to the english and japanese dub. I know many people don't like Paimon in English... I may be bias as I've traveled with English Paimon since launch... I prefer English. It's not as bad as people think. I honestly think the problem lies mostly with the fact you can understand what she's saying verses knowing how said lines should be delivered.
That said all 4 languages do a stellar job. :)
Early-game English Paimon is 17 trillion times better than current Paimon. The VA lead guy chose to make her higher-pitched for some stupid reason.
Thats where u'r wrong bucko, i (mostly) understand chinese, and my biggest problem with eng is that she speaks to us like dora, not an actual person. Then again, it could be because of translation issues, since cn & jp (idk bout kr) loves to repeat sentences naturally. Same example with metal gear solid

I like her english voice too. Although she's sound unnatural sometimes, but it's actually not that bad :)

Okay, I feel like I'm definitely biased. I play in CN so hearing the JP one where she has a lot more energy is a bit jarring, so the crying in JP didn't hit me as hard as others. Imo KR had the best one, but honestly every language including EN were tearjerking

I didn't focusly pay attention about the Archon quest I was utterly behind. Now I understand the story even more. Imagined being alone and that felt you actually alone. Paimon VA AKA Kaguya-sama Love is War actually nail it. Don't get me wrong. it is very saddest moment alone Furina Archon quest. But I think I have experience way more than brutal than that actually delete my heart. But this is still very brutal.
