You may know this by now, but Covid interrupted the filming of 15x19, the penultimate episode. They shot one day and then production got shut down in March 2020. 19 and 20 were filmed during the Pandemic months later in the summer ( I think during August and September). They had to change some things in 19 and 20 due to "Pandemic Filming Guidelines".
I understand their reasons why the show changed the way film and shoot things back in like season 5 (like removing the moody filters & going for more thorough lighting), but this season in particular really highlights how much less scary it made the show, when you bring back characters that were legitimately scary to most viewers in their first appearance only to have people laugh when they showed up here! It really highlights that it is no longer supernatural horror, but instead more a fantasy show with occasionally ghosts~~~
So the end of times you'd think would be dark and forboding, but instead the show is lit like a sunny day on Venice beach in California. It contradicts the tone we were left with in the 14 final. It makes the end of the world seem rather unbelievable.
We're in divorce arc and who shows up? Belfagor. From the wikipedia synopsis of Belfagor arcidiavolo: "In the end, Belfagor gratefully returns to Hell, denouncing the institution of marriage."
Truly, it's a downgrade from s14 finale and it's more upsetting that they easily could have explained this too bright atmosphere by Chuck losing his writer skills and interest in his story. They could have fixed a lot of things this way, but oh well. I still like s15, just not the first few episodes. Anyway, Belfagor is such a fun character. Loved how he tried to flirt with Dean just to find out that he has no chance because he's possessing Dean's son. Really awkward. Also, Alex plays him so well, feels nothing like Jack. Watching Alex enjoying playing a villain is one of the best things in this premier.
I swear the you and me versus all the demons in hell convo is my favorite part of the whole series and a rather good synopsis for supernatural in general.
I see you’re on episode 4 of this final season on Patreon, so you already know the answers to some of your questions at the end of this episode here.. looking forward to the next episode! ☺️🙌🏼
According to Variety, Supernatural had to shut down on March 13 because of the coronavirus pandemic, one day into filming the series’ penultimate episode. So they were able to film the majority of the season, but it did mess with how they wanted to film the final two episodes.
I believe they filmed in a residential neighborhood and they did not to want impose on the neighbors sleeping patterns with filming light and crew, not too mention the shotguns were loud even with blanks.
Okay, I love your reactions. I've been here since season 4, I think, and then went back to watch 1-3 also. But can you PLEASE balance the audio between the show and your voice? I know you have to keep the show's audio lower than you talking, but that means I have to turn my volume up to hear what's happening in the show so I know what part you're reacting to, and then you randomly YELL AT THE TOP OF YOUR VOICE and blow my eardrums out. So then I turn the volume way down so I don't go deaf but then I can't hear anything.

It was the foot race with the ghosts for me. The FOOT RACE. With GHOSTS. Who can TELEPORT. 😂
Poor thing, they were exercising after so long
the "we got work to do" scene mimicking the final scene of the first episode still gets me man 😭😭😭

Stupid, sad funfact: Jack always wanted to fight zombies and now that they actually get to fight some zombies in this episode, Jack is dead.

One more season! So bittersweet. We know it has to end but it never really does ❤
IMO, when it's goofy? It's ~GOOFY~ *BUT* when it's perfect? Those are the moments I'm here for^.^
Why did they film this episode in daylight? Ghost are scarier at night, or at least the effects are cooler and more intimidating at night.
