- This vlogs show my experience in Air India’s international economy class from Tokyo to Delhi. The journey was almost 9 hours long & facilities which were provided in economy class was not satisfactory at all. Most of the equipments were not working , seats did not recline & even tray tables were broken , mirrors were dirty & cracked. Watch vlog for more.

Bhai nothing against your comments but upgradation of any airlines take 3-4 years. In case of Air India it will take longer time due to you know past governments negligence towards the airline, lack of maintenance and service. Upgradation process is happening slowly but surely with time things will look good. Anyways on certain routes like USA and Europe aircrafts are a lot better in terms of comfort and service so you can surely travel on them (777-300ER & 777-200LR (LEASED)). Also on certain domestic routes Air India has improved a lot in the past few years
I am sorry but the bare minimum of making sure the already installed infotainment system works and the actual apps on the screen is functional should be priority improvements.

Same type of aircrafts goes to United Kingdom where ticket is about INR 50000 - 60000 and sometimes INR 100000 for 10 hours one way during holiday seasons and worst aircraft conditions, However Crew, food is good and airline is punctual. I would rate 1 out of 10 for aircraft, 9 out of 10 for Crew and food.

I had booked this flight specifically for the Boeing 787 Dreamliner and the window seat 32-J . However, during web check-in, I was assigned seat 45-K, a window seat on a Boeing 777-300.
The seats were uncomfortable and,
None of the seat televisions at the back of the aircraft were working,
The seats did not recline properly,
It was surprising to see that no water was offered when boarding, a gesture I have come to expect from international flights.
DXB - BOM is a classic short haul route (4 hours or less). Not even Emirates takes BOM - DXB seriously (DXB is Emirates' hub). I’ve flown LHR - BOM via DXB several times. LHR - DXB on the A380 was paradise. DXB - BOM was cattle class and I don’t blame Emirates.

I flew in Air India 3 times to different countries in the past 6 months months and I never got assigned a seat with working entertainment system and I was wondering why travel youtubers haven't ranted about Air India so far.

Very accurate representation of India! Passenger who travel to India will know exactly what they will get in India! Lovely Indian people but filthy streets and rivers the same as IFE, lavatory, seats on this very aircraft!
30k for Tokyo-Delhi seems extremely cheap! For that price, this quality is good enough (unless competitors are offering similar rates).

Bhai yeh to Chalo Delhi to tokyo hai not commonly used. air india Delhi to Toronto one of the most used Flightd worst aircraft and they know people gonna book this flight for their old parents and all so they just try to loot you and don’t give anything. This flight is only running on behalf of older people
I too had the same experience like you. I was in my Air India Boeing-787 Delhi to Singapore flight and I got the same window seat near the wing like you and my in flight entertainment system tv was not working. I think so in all the Air India flights in the window seat near the wing the in flight entertainment system tv doesn't work. Modified in the US simply because US is AIC's flagship international route. ALL Airlines have flagship international routes which they focus most if not all their resources towards. For AIC this is The US. No other airline has the DIRECT connectivity from India to the US that AIC has.

Bro I returned from Amsterdam to Delhi recently and faced the same issue. The food was stale and the in flight tv wasn’t working. The cabin was hot and it was a very uncomfortable flight! I hope Air India improves soon!
Europe is not a market AIC has ever taken seriously. SFO - BLR daily. That’s how seriously AIC takes the US market.
the reason for success of Japan series is you choose country wisely. If you had chosen Dubai, Maldives, etc the series wouldnt have god so much attention. also you explored cities which many people dont go and bullet trains.

I think this is by far a honest review. I travelled Delhi to Tokyo in Air India in December 2022 (after Tata take over). The service was as bad as prior to take over. The flight was delayed by more than 4 hrs and not at all supportive ground staff. Once on the flight there was just one variety of food for all the passengers. (irrespective of their food choices). (bonus problem: I received my checked in bag with broken wheels). I hope you could tag Air India to your Video so that the management understands the passenger discomforts and disappointments.
Harry is perhaps reviewing worn out Aircraft that came into the possession of Tata on purchase of the Company. Tata has already placed record breaking orders for both Boeing and Airbus aircrafts which will be delivered in phased manner.It seems by the end of 2025 AI will have the youngest fleet among major airlines of the world.
Thereafter passengers will appreciate the brand new gleeming aircraft as well as young and energetic cabin crew too. But as a private business it may be possible that they may cut corners to maximise profits.

Correct me if I am wrong. Seats near emergency exit will not recline. And the seet you are sitting is on the wing which is an emergency exit seat.
Air india is working on changing the interior of all international flights by March 2024 . It takes time to change all the interiors each flights have to be grounded for one month at least to change the looks and feel of the flights. They are replacing with new planes which they have ordered and on old planes they shall start refurbishment

Whenever you travel safety is most important not leisure. Tata received flights from India govt and now they ordered many flights. Just keep patience. The flight not delayed nor you received services. Earlier all flights were delayed and they used to wait for babu (Minister) for boarding free causing inconvenience for passengers.
Be calm man if profitable Air India Ambani or Adani would have taken over. Be proud of TATA
By the way, the aircraft type is Boeing 787-8, not Boeing 737, as mentioned in your Vlog. Cheers! Additionally, for everyone ranting about the entertainment screens not working, Air India's B787s and B777s will undergo a major re-haul and refitting of their entire cabin fleet in H2 2024. They will be fitted with new Business and Economy class configurations, featuring the latest entertainment systems, Wi-Fi, and extra-comfort seats.
Air India is a big company so it's not easy to make changes very quickly. And also jo seat ya tray table jo tuti hui hai woh sab passengers ka hi kam hai, its not that koi crew purposely aaka karte hain. And Ratan Tata ji is doing his best to improve the quality of the aircrafts

Nothing to do with scale. Emirates, SIA etc are not small airlines but they care about their customers. Therein lies the difference.
Pack off all old nuts and introduce young talented guys. Union is killing reputation
Air india is not the only big international carrier, there are many other airlines bigger than air india which have better maintenance and keep their planes in better condition. It all comes down to how happy the crew is which depends on treatment by the airline and also how mich the airline invests into keeping their planes in good condition.
I believe AI uses 11-13 year old 787 Dreamliners on the DEL - NRT routes - the aircraft are in really bad condition in general & this has been covered by a few travel vloggers - I think the newer 787's are reserved for the high-density traffic routes such as San Francisco & New York. No excuse for such a bad aircraft on your route however, must have been terrible without IFE on a 10hr stage length.

Harry air India has ordered new seats for their 787’s with the best airplane seat the Recaro CL3710 seats and they are going to start installing by June/July

What you said is absolutely correct. Recently I travelled from Mumbai to Dubai and back via Delhi . The worst experience - as you said the infotainment system does not work and was shocked to see moss struck in the toilet bowl.
The changes has started from Indian then they will change in international flights ✈️

@Harry Thank you for calling a spade a spade and calling out an appalling International flight. This video is why even though I ALWAYS fly AIC for domestic legs no way I’m flying AIC internationally. Well done.
For people commenting change takes time, have patience etc the phrase you are looking for is customer apathy. Uncouth passengers don’t help their own cause.
Post pandemic Emirates took 8 days per aircraft to refurbish and retrofit The A380 into full service.

Awaiting Air India to receive their new aircraft. Their service, hospitality and food quality has improved. Rest of the cons will be covered with the new fleet. I would take Air India if i want to sleep in economy class (on 3 seats) and bit reasonable than other airlines.

I can understand ur frustration but bhai puri airline ke aircrafts change karna kisi gaadi ko repair karne jitna easy nahi hota. Isme kai saal lagte hai. Pehle air india ka crew bhi itna hospitable nahi tha. Ab voh behtar hai. Pehle website bohot bekaar thi ab behtar hai
Toh vese hi mere bhai aircraft bhi ache honge next 2 years me. Or isko aap negative comment mat samajna. Me sirf aapko bata raha hu kyu ki aapko aviation ke subject me knowledge nahi hai. Aap boeing ke 737 ko bhi hamesha dreamliner kehte ho jo bhi galat hai. Boeing ka sirf 787 dreamliner hota hai.
Or ek hi negative cheez baar baar bolne se video aage dekhne ka mann nahi karta. Ek hi baar me log samaj jaate hai ki aircraft ki condition achi nahi hai.

San Francisco to Mumbai and Mumbai to San Francisco flights of Air India are brand new with best seats, food and in-flight entertainment. So, the change is happening after takeover by tata but it is slow.

Harry Bhai, Give them time new aircraft take a lot of time to get delivered and refurbishment of older aircraft’s are underway the first refurbished aircraft will start coming after March 2024. The AIR INDIA ENGINEERING is now a government owned and it was not privatised with Air India. It will be privatised in near future. It takes a lot of time in MROs and slots are fixed for each aircraft.

The existing fleet of Air India is in very bad condition... so no hope from them. The only hope is from the new aircrafts which will join Air India later.

AI is retrofitting few aircraft’s at a time. They simply can’t put too many out of service. It will take three to four years before they complete the job. People should keep that in mind that the aircraft might be inherited from government and we all know the condition in TATA got them.

Air India was a loss-making company, and now, after being taken over by Tata, at least give some significant years to change the system and process. If everything were so easy, then everything in this world would be a perfect thing. The reason for saying this is you tell your audience not to showcase this point repeatedly, but at the same time, you show us bad reviews of such airlines, which we already know are trying to improve. But after all, this is content for you😉. Anyways good series though👍🏻
