Just the normal stuff........3 lbs of loose gas station tobacco leaf, unopened condoms, bottle caps, and coins. I did buy some JDM sun visors for my old Subaru and a ticket stub for Japanese parking garage fell out when I opened the flap for the mirror.
2003 Montero : Smoker's car, so ash, Ash & more ASH! Just over $20 change just in driver's floor alone. There was a factory floor mat there too, one just couldn't initially tell until it was chiseled free. Just over $50 in change in rest of vehicle. And they say, much much more. 1991 Capri XR2: trunk was full of stolen car parts, random items, under garments, topper was a wonderfully smelling vase that was used as chamber pot. How? Why? Your guess...
That mechanic is the hero you needed but don't deserve. That wiring mess blows the fuse in my mind. How on Earth did he distinguish all the that from OEM wiring?!
I think the previous owner was an audiophile of sorts (and crazy too), those don’t look like washers, they look like ferrites. Probably used them and all the aluminum foil to protect the audio signal from the Radio Frequency interference caused by all the other wiring mods.
Good call, you're right they're probably ferrites. I guess all of this insulation was necessary for the audio considering how much equipment was installed!
Holy crap I have never seen wiring like that. Kind of amazing. Must have been a show car at some point. The fat washers on the wires were ferrite beads meant to suppress noise. All the magnets may have been for some kind of EMI suppression as well, but no idea how that works. The snake in the gas tank was likely there to dull reverberations so the gas tank didn't cause booming sound. The car was clearly set up for big time sound at some point. Seems like it may have been a former sex spec car in general. No idea about the bead motif though. Overall it seems like it's in good shape and it looks awesome. Hope you got a good deal!
I loved seeing the car in person at the Cars & Coffee, but I had no idea all this stuff had been in there...Whoa! Very cool project and such a beautiful design.
Wow. Just wow. Definitely has Japanese pimp my ride vibes. And a the gas tank snake was ming-boggling. Crazy. Thanks for taking it to a pro to clean it up.
Very cool car. Love the color. Never found anything too crazy in any of my cars (including my current daily driver which was a police car). The custom intake on yours sort of reminds me of when I pulled out the stock airbox in one of my old cars and put together a custom fenderwell intake.
That's a nice looking car, brother! I'm getting ready for Radwood this summer...I just picked up a new with tags Style Auto jacket, and my ride is going to be a Chrysler 300M that I am converting to a "one of none" Eagle Vision
all those magnet and magnet type things that were around the wiring were ferrite. The car may have had an electrical bug (possibly from the miles of extra loom and random electronics) and was trying to reduce interference or cross talk. Most likely he had a bad ground or switching ground. A friend of mine tried to put a 1jz into an IS300 and gave up because of random electrical cross-talk that never sorted itself out.
@@astafford8865 The humble Fielder is the type of boxy, efficient and completely practical car that has been replaced by a far less efficient CUV in our market. It warms my heart to know they are still being made for markets where common sense is still a factor in the car purchasing decision of many consumers.
The benefit of winning an auction for a former tuning show car... No rust but crazy electronics... The interesting thing is that noone was daring to touch the existing wiring, they built a complete new wiring for their stuff every time...
They probably did have A pimp my rider. The show was so popular in the early 2 thousands that every country had one. And they had some type of famous person.
I’ve seen the magnets on a few JDM cars I looked at purchasing before, the dealership told me Japanese tuners really believe in the power of magnetic “ionization”. It’s truly a gimmick.
Certain other car channels wish they could of landed a vehicle this tweaked. That pond is what people had to do before Hyundai stuck sounds of nature in their vehicle audio. 🐠🐟
1:49 yeah, its classics for chasers bc its the cheapest swap-modifying car in japan and people just want to make it drift for no money and dont care about anything else
Nice video, confusing title! I can only assume that's the reason it has so few views. Like, what does JDM stands for? If I don't know that I won't click on the video.
What was the weirdest thing you found in a car that you just bought?
This is the 2023 version of "The French Connection" disassembly. 😂

Big props to your guy for saving the car. He really brought it back with all that work.

It was obviously a Transformer before it died and became just a normal car.
Comment of the year😂

The previous owner LOVED that car. Super cool mods lol
You're a brave man. I RUN from any modified used cars. Too scary!
What the hell magnito!
By far the craziest thing I have ever seen in all my car life! 😂 ( I visited the shop often). Your lucky Spencer is a badass.

Love your sunglasses

Very nice! Congrats! 💙
Congratulations on the new whip!
Wonder what the bodykit and wheels are called
I think we figured out why Brian's floor came out of the eclipse...
Did you leave the danger to manifold sensor in there?
This an excellent tech right here. Most mechanics wouldn’t even touch it

Ethan, Toyota makes a fine Chaser but they make an even finer Fielder. 🤩
Very cool, but unfortunately too new to import to the US!
@@HelloRoad The Australians and New Zealanders are grabbing them all anyway 😉

WTF & HFS 😂 Can't wait to see it, E! Wow. A pond! 🤯 Pimp My Ride for sure.

He kicks ass

Its also really cool and JDM, yo!

I remember magnets being sold as gas savers.......

You need a Mitsubishi Legnum VR-4
Those are raddddddddddd
The "washers" on the wire are toroids. They are used to filter electric noise. In this case it's just unessential.
I hope to reallly cleaned that interior and the wheel and the seats… like with a hose and with commercial disinfectant! 😬😁
I'm surprised you didn't find a minidisc player.
The Zune was put over the mini:)

Spencer has already christened this car- "The Nightmare Chaser!"
All right, if you COULD meet the owner...Would you actually WANT to?
Hahahaha!! No thanks!!
Bruh, that's so much wire. I can't imagine how much they paid for all that crap lmao.
Magnets? how do they Work?
update on the Northstar Cadillac?
I found someone that will fix the head gasket, just need to tow it over there. Working on the Land Cruiser first :) :)
It looks like a GTR
Cool 🥰
RAD car.......but wow lol
Do you think the previous owner was experimenting with weight power ratio?
Holy lots of weird u
You importing a car from japan and not Mexico. Hmmmmm
私の乗り物をポン引き
seems like a tweaker did this
A tweaker with a lot of $$$?
Those cars were consistent from the star. They consistently sucked.
Nah it's great
gross
Maybe its me i was a little high but this episode was just strange as fuck, felt like bizzaro world
I didn't think they had methheads in Japan, but I guess I was wrong! 😂
Also, I wonder if the magnets and ferrite rings were an attempt to eliminate noise caused by the rats nest of wiring. Egads.
