- We purchased the Carlsen & Associates Wine Basket Press in the summer of 2022 and it was one of the biggest upgrades for our winemaking. It's easy to use, has very gentle juice extraction, and insanely fast press cycles from what I was used to.
I researched this thing for a few years and the only way I could see it run action is to visit a neighboring winery during harvest. Our harvest window is pretty tight here on Red Mountain so when other winemakers are pressing, so am I. If you're looking to purchase this press, I for one highly recommend it and I hope the demo I chopped together helps you understand the workflow.

Glad it helped. I do not use it for whites... I've seen it used for whites and it makes a mess.

$55k-ish. Just for the basket press. That was back in 2021 though. 😬
Gotta tell ya, after 2 years using this thing. Worth every penny. So efficient, 20 min press cycles, and consistently makes soft tannin wine. I Love it. Let me know if you'd like an intro to my rep over there at Carlsen.

I'm in Texas, so I think Johnson and Associates services my area. But I greatly appreciate the help! I'm sure it's a bit more now than in 2021 but that price is still better than I thought it was gonna be!
