- Paul Eccleston is overseeing the Mid Infrared Instrument, known as MIRI. It will be one of four cameras attached to the James Webb Space Telescope.
We go "backstage" with Paul to see MIRI at RAL Space, which involves entering a special clean room.
Backstage Science is presented by the Science and Technology Facilities Council. - วิทยาศาสตร์และเทคโนโลยี
Thank you, Brady. Your work is as entertaining as it is important, and your series have inspired me to learn more.
Yet more fantastic science. Thanks Brady. I'm sure many viewers like myself, scientists or not , will enjoy getting to see behind the scenes, as it were ;)
not too long now
Can't wait to see the pictures this thing sends back!
This is our first "Backstage Science". Plenty more to come looking at other instruments and experiments, etc... Let us know what you think and what you'd like to see!?
Brady, you're work is awesome. keep it up!
Awesome! Thanks for the new videos and channel!
So amazing. Keep up the great work.
@atthetopofmyvoice glad you like it... I'm using a Z7 at the moment... If you go to my blogspot (periodicvideos) there is a description of what kit I use... I think it was the first blog I wrote!
Amazing!
@me835 thank you... really looking forward to making these videos! Should get to point the camera at some amazing stuff!
@xenon1987 thanks and tell your friends!
more cool stuff coming, though may be a few weeks away.
Another great channel from Brady, that's very nice piece of science you reveal to us!
I must point that out, the music here is way better than you sometimes used on nottingham related videos. I couldn't stand that ambient of chemical garden! Good job picking something else for this video. :)
@john37309 thanks... it was really exciting to see it up close... hope that came across in some small way!
That is really interesting stuff!
@Terrayeah great, thanks!
i think they keep it clean to get so clear picture from the space. cuz if the mirrors or the optics on the device gained dust ll make the picture blurry.
@DeoMachina Me too... bit of a wait though!
Cheers on the first vid man. Excellent start.
Very much enjoy your work on the other channels as well. Combining the personal and the scientific is a winning combination. Exactly the kind of vids I wish I had thought to make. ;)
Bw, what camera do you shoot with?
why does it have to be so clean?
@BackstageScience wouldn't mind a jodrell bank video, if thats possible.
@killer90989 Yes you are correct. There is more information in another upload "Space Camera (extra footage)"
Oh my~! What a very expensive 3 mega pixel camera~!?
Is there any way you could get in to see the new LHC?
LHC !!!
Science fucking rocks!
To think how much grovelling has to be done to raise the cash for these ventures, yet military budgets dwarf science budgets.
If it wasn't for science like this, there would be far more world-suck.
@BackstageScience Yeah, but think of it this way, we will be the the first humans in history to see these new images.
Good thing they didn't make you shower before you went in
