Swiss Travel Pass is by far the best option, if you rent a car and return it after two weeks it will cost you over 40k INR in high season which is not cheap. But with the pass you get free rides in Panoramic trains like Luzern - Interlaken Express (reservation not needed), Glacier Express (reservation needed), Bernina Express (res. needed), Gotthard Panorama (res needed), Volarpen Express (res not needed) etc. Free entry to many museums, free mountain excursions in Rigi, Stanserhorn and Stoos, 25-50% for other mountain excursion like Jungfraujoch, Schilthorn, Gornergrat etc.
In my personal opinion, do NOT miss the train journeys for driving. You'll miss a lot. The best way to see Switzerland is by train.

We are planning a trip in Aug 2023. Have a question rgd Swiss rail pass : how do u differentiate between which trains are included vs which are not? Are they marked or color coded ? Thanks in advance for any insight.
I beg to differ on road vs rail. If u plan to go to tourist destinations only, train is probably better. However Switzerland is so much more than the 3-4 cities mentioned here. We did a motorcycle trip couple years ago and went thru some of the remotest Swiss mountain passes and stayed in small villages. Trains will not work. Also if you like to drive, one shouldn’t miss one of the best twisty roads in the world, that too in pristine condition. Just a data point to consider.

Hey , April and May are spring months so you will see new fresh leaves on the tree but if you want everything to be green come in summer months which is June - August but remember those are also very touristy months which means everything will be crowded. Regarding everything will open , most of the places are open all the year round they are closed only if the weather becomes very bad.
