How Long Does it Take to Max Out EVERY Weapon in Dark Souls?

- Today we embark on a journey to acquire and upgrade every single weapon in the game! Will I lose my sanity along the way? Find out!
Just btw, I apparently deleted a couple of sections here and there (the winged spear, getting the Obsidian Greatsword, and getting the Gold and Silver Tracers). Tends to happen when you have over 200 video files for a project!
My man is trying to go hollow IRL.
the way to go hollow would be doing this and then asking yourself "ok now what?"
He already is
Getting black knight halberd when going for silver serpent ring without fighting the knight is always a great feeling
my god you got every weapon upgraded in less than the time it took me to beat the game. i really thought this would be like a 200 hour run
Whatever your time to beat the game is, it beats mine. I've played DS1,2,3 and bloodborne. Haven't beaten a single one of them lol
Partial reason is that I'm not really that gud, but eh.
@@Damonnanashithat’s me lol, I’ve gotten mid way in demon souls, ds1, 2, bloodborne and elden ring
I've beaten DS1 in like 30 mins and DS2 in about 1 hr. Never beaten 3 lmao
the only fromsoftware game I've beaten is sekiro with the only reason being I don't have to get creative
Same here! My very first playthrough was 145 hours. I sucked!
I can do it in about 15 now (I don't use hacks or glitches).
But I would've figured this would've taken a lot longer than it did.
0/10 no shields run invalid
No armour aswell
Armor: Am I a joke to you?
This reminds me of the "how long does it take to reach the max level in the starting area" videos
got confused for a sec with the numbers but then i got that this does not include shields, would be cool to see a part 2 with the shields and armor sets
You just cursed this poor guy
@@iamthehobo lmao he's already cursed for this
Honestly I do t think it would add too much time. Maybe another 40 in total for armor and shields, so probably 100ish hours for the whole shebang
@@trevthedev6134 makes sense, i guess it would be wiser to focus on other entries on the series or other challenges
@@trevthedev6134 I think a video about acquiring every armor set would be cool but without upgrading. Like this video showed me that the titanite demon weapon existed I didnt know that. I wonder if there are armors I dont know about yet too
-Why did you murdered her?!
-There's no reason to let her quest progress out.
The things we do for TH-cam lol. I don’t usually even progress her questline, never done a full miracle caster build outside of getting 100%
@@trevthedev6134 I usually like progressing her questline so I can feel justified when I cave in Petrus' skull.
Can’t wait for this guy to kit his job and do content full time
Wait, I thought this was gonna be all math not you actually doing this! Absolutely insane!
Also, I was planning on doing something """similar""" for each souls game once I get my final PC built. Same concept but 1 through 15, each upgrade path like occult, and doubled for dual wielding. Something like Bloodborne I would try and get the best gems as well but man, this video sorta shook the idea just a bit. Only a bit though! Amazing stuff!
THOSE SLABS OHHH
One final thing, I absolutely wanna see you try and do this in every souls game. Wanna put in perspective of what this will sorta look like. Bloodborne is probably gonna be my hardest one but besides that I can't wait till I get my PC!
Well I still gotta get into Bloodborne. I’ve only ever played through once and that was without dlc, but people do like BB challenges so I’m sure I’ll get into it at some point in the next few months!
@@trevthedev6134Then take your time with the DLC and hope to see somethings with it some day!
You know that i think i'm doing the exact thing on my own right now? Every weapon at +15, armor at +10, and for the infusions i'll be kind to myself, for every infusion i choose a weapon and i'll take a copy of it to infuse it. Wish me luck
definitely you're more sane than me, i counted armors and shields too
Yeah, I'm definitely duping when I start doing my "literally everything" playthroughs lol
This is a really interesting concept, I'm honestly kinda surprised the chunk chance is so low from the darkwraiths and that ended up being the problem.
Yeah honestly the black knights in the kiln are probably a bit better farm considering you can get 2 guaranteed drops and the run is like 1/4 of the time
My man your content is beyond everything else. The only thing I sorrow for is that you don’t give dark souls 2 the love it deserves
Fret not DS2 is next on my list!
@@trevthedev6134at first you had my curiosity, now you have my attention

Hey, I did that !
When I got the remaster on PC I decided to make a ‘perfect’ save file ; with all stats at 50, all items at 99 or 999 (if stackable), all spells ; and all weapons, all armors, and all shields maxed out.
But I used the duplication glitch.
When I had finished, my play time was at 50 hours. It wasn’t my first playthrough (I had 200 hours on the PTDE version on PS3), but I didn’t speedrun the game (all my cycles where ‘All Bosses’ runs). Despite duping Sif’s soul, I still had to do a third cycle because I had forgot Smough’s armor on my second cycle, and I had terrible luck with some drops like the channeler’s trident.
You could probably cut the play time to under 40h casually.
Technically, my save file is still not perfect. I only maxed the weapons, armor, and shields on the normal path because with my stats infusions are useless, and if I need a special effect (like curse or divine) I’ll have at least one weapon with the effect built in already.
Also I don’t have 12 copies of all spells, some spell can be obtained only once per cycle (and some once per playthrough), and to my knowledge there is no spell duplication glitch yet.
And I also discovered that the Straight sword hilt is the only ‘truly losable’ item in the entire game. All the others can be obtained again in a new cycle, or can’t be drop in the first place (spells, dark sign), but if you drop the Hilt or use it to craft the Greatsword of Artorias, it’s gone forever and you can’t get it again.
Fortunately It caught that, so I didn’t have to do everything again.
Took me over a minute to realize why the sky in the background at the beginning was skipping forward before I realized that he was switching between weapons
👁👄👁
The Winged Spear is in the graveyard that you find the Zweihander at. When you didn't mention it after grabbing the sword I was concerned, but you did mention that you had it but didn't have footage of it.
Yeah I do wonder where the footage went. I've got to think about how to tackle this 'problem' if (when) I do Elden Ring. That'll be a journey...
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YEAHHHHHHHHHHH BABY LOOKING FORWARD TO THIS ONE GIMME SOME NUMBERS AND STATS BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
Srs tho this guy makes numbers and stats not just interesting, but full on sexy
Lore accurate undead trying to not go hollow by finding purpose on a dying world.
Do you remember what some of the biggest philosophers said about time? Which is the most valuable thing you have in life? The only one thing you can't buy, you can't produce, you can't have back..
Now think about the time invested in this.
And you cannot even make the "all weapons upgraded" somehow valuable.
Not even for you... As nobody likes a run with the broken sword slith +15.
That said I'm glad someone made it, just not me.
I was blown away when you revealed this only took 60 hours. I have files that are still in NG at over 120 hours. Bravo!
12:00 Imma start saying "Daughters of Covenant Chaos" now
60 hours is wild, I thought it'd take more than 100. Very satisfying video to watch.
Incredible. I thought this was gunna be one of those hypothetical videos, and you would just estimate how long it would take!
Thank you for the video 👍🏿
Ooooh invincible is a good choice for while you're farming. It's rare that we get an animated show with 40min episodes
I really appreciate the density of this video. In some ways it makes it more difficult to watch, but I appreciate having 2 hours’s worth of information in 30 minutes 👍🏻
I was so lost on you saying 1 "playthrough" since I assumed playthrough was a NG cycle and was waiting to see how you got multiple of boss souls AND both O&S souls.
Regardless of my confusion, fun video.
Wow. Can't wait to see how long it takes to upgrade armor and shields too
20:29 I'm so thankful this got answered for me from one of your other videos.
Not sure if this was something you were already doing before I questioned it or not, but I'm glad regardless.
Honestly it didn’t outright occur to me until I read some comments on the other video. Surprisingly enough I could only find a really old gamefaqs post and a yt video with less than 50 views that you can do this.
@@trevthedev6134 ahh, the best kind of Dark Souls content on TH-cam...
The cam recorded, 57 view, high contrasted fat rolling with heavy breathing in the background.
Regardless, now that I know, I will most likely do this myself with spare time. Darkwraith Chunk Grinding is very much a good time to get through backlogs of videos or series to watch. I normally use the Firelink route because I hate dealing with the Wyverns, but how much faster is going from the Valley?
Hmm I didn’t necessarily time my runs, but you can usually get by the first drake depending on which attack it does, but the second one in the middle can be a bit tricky. If you get lucky and it does the lightning breath attack you can get by, but I went safer and usually just killed the first 2 and ran by the group of 3. I think most runs were maybe 5-8 minutes depending on rng? So about 20-25 hours of the video was darkwraith grinding. That’s a lot more than I thought…
I had the same idea not too long ago, then immediately thought to myself how stupid it would be for me to attempt this. My respect for you is immeasurable
I did this in Dark Souls 3 including shields and armour (obviously armour can’t be upgraded in that game but I collected them all) and it was a blast, but the list layout inventory + lack of ability to purchase chunks turned me away from doing it in DS1
Nice to see someone being crazy enough to do this
Great spin on the challenge video genre! Can't wait to see Best Souls 2 get a little love. I seem to remember upgrade farming being much easier in DS2.
All this work? You're definitely getting a sub. Can't wait to watch more.
Thanks!
Finally a new video! I really love your videos, thank you for making them!
Can't believe you're not over a thousand views yet! Your content is sooooooo good
Composite bow mentioned 🔥
i have played through DS only 3 times and I got a ghost blade on every single playthrough without farming them at all. I was surprised to hear you say its the rarest weapon drop in the game
You may be thinking of the jagged ghost blade - you get those from the ‘regular’ ghosts
@@trevthedev6134 youre probably right
*makes sure to put in the Pinwheel fight
Beautiful.
Also, fun fact. An iaito is a blunt katana meant for practice. Nowadays, theyre made out of an alloy to make them lighter, and therefore easier to use.
I love this idea. Thanks for your commitment to the idea. I'd never have the patience to do it LOL
I haven't done all, but in my main profile I got pretty much all the cull weapons upgraded, from fire Battle axe to Abyss greatsword. Upgrade is not the question, trying the different weapon is. I use all my list, a different weapon for every area, very fun thing to try.
Excited to see you pop up in my subscription feed!
I get excited every time i get a notif from this channel
There's a certain meditative quality to you listing out every weapon you're upgrading
wow, the content I didn't know I needed. screw maxing out character levels or speed runs, this is where it's at
insane amount of work for a 30 minute video, fantastic job!
Ahh this brings back memories of the first time I played Dark Souls. Spending hours upon hours killing Darkwraiths trying to get those slabs just so I could have every weapon and armor piece I had equipped maxed out before the final boss. My life is so much better after learning to ignore stats and play fashion souls in DS2.
I'm guessing you have to kill about 10,000 darkwraiths
maybe do it with every armor and shield too?
That's what we call a multi-part series, baby!!!
i did originally think about doing that, but I didn't know if it would be overly interested.
DS2 next! It should be one of the more bearable grinds of the Soulsborne titles.
Damn, this made me realize just how many weapons are in this gaame and yet, all i ever used were 10.
That was great! Next try all possible upgrade paths maxed out on every weapon
Lmao that’s a 500+ hour endeavor
I usually have far more trouble with Seath's tailcut, because I either almost die to his tail attacks or he just keeps turning. Meanwhile, getting Kalameet's tailcut is just a matter of patience and otherwise dodging his attacks like normal.
Little did he know, now he's must complete all the Souls games including Bloodborne and Elden Ring now.
Run idea: pick up everything you see, if it is a weapon - you have to max it out, boss souls count as weapon that they give on forging
This would be an interesting speedrun category. Although you would have to use the duplication glitches for it to be practical.
takes about 20 minutes with cheat engine.
Give this man the Elden Ring DLC
22:41 Trev Asmr; Soothing weapon names to study and relax to
One time i was farming dark wraiths for titanite chunks with like base item discovery iirc, and i got THREE dark hands IN A ROW before getting a SINGLE titanite chunk
Fun fact, if you were doing this challenge on the switch version, you wouldn't be able to do the strats that require you to backup your save as it doesn't support it.
this brings me back to getting knights honor, where I spent 8 hours farming the channels trident in the archives and didn’t get it. Started ng+ and got it from the first channeler in undead burg (also got the balder side sword from the first balder).
I'd be very interested in seeing how long this would take in ds2 because of how many boss weapons there are and because of the much more convenient titanite slab farming
Yeah it would be interesting. I may do it at some point? Ds3 would be interesting - I obviously didn’t do any dupes or glitches in this run, but if I did ds3 I may make use of the seigmeyer slab glitch.
@@trevthedev6134 At least ds3 titanite slabs aren't really annoying to get and the game actually gives a reasonable amount. Can't farm them tho unfortunately
Jokes on you I'm still gonna use the guts sword for the 1000th time
guide on how to go crazy: the same job but with elden ring
Very respectable time, way faster than I thought it would take (though, it's probably because of the save strats for the slabs).
60 hours to farm and grind up all weapons is really good. My pyromancy/knights honor save was something like 127 hours. But I also decided to max out the upgrades on my armor too, so I did a bunch of Wraith farming for that.
Hey, could you acquire and break every equippable item in every dark souls game, and showcase them? At least in DS2 and 3 I'm aware they have a different look, I can't quite remember if it's ever anything more interesting than a texture overlay though. There's not a broken weapons and armour showcase on TH-cam yet and based on this i feel like you'd be willing to do that. It'd be a service to fashion souls!
Also sorry if I've asked this before, maybe I have, i am a forgetful sort.
Nice vid. Appreciate the grind
Strangly.
I'm doing it atm 😎 almost complete.
Just needing some final slabs
An idea:
How many souls could be squired with souls, itens, weapons and armor, in a run, no %chance drop, just static itens and drops
Maxing all weapons video
-Oh cool!
-We need to kill Brolaire for his weapon.
-NoOOooOOO
I did this on my xbox save... I would put on a podcast while I farmed the Dark Wraiths. I didn't get everything upgraded with a slab though, I didn't use any on dex weapons lol.
Reminds me of Matrix-movie's huge weapon locker scene.
Do I want Trev to do this in other Soulsborne games? Yeah
Do I want Trev to do this in other Soulsborne games? Also no
You picked up the greataxe in sen's fortress? I swear that weapon is on the ground somewhere in the depths
Edit: ok so you did pick up that greataxe from the depths but earlier you got one in sen's.. neat
Funnily enough the same thing happened to me in ds3 where I got that drop in the High Wall.
Honestly I expected this to take like 300 hours when I opened the video because of the titanite slab farming, but then I remembered not all weapons need a slab to upgrade to max like ds3. The final count was still below what I expected though.
You played Dark Souls like it was Runescape although the playtime for that would have been 1000's of hours instead lol
30:00 I've never understood how people can watch shows/movies while grinding something. Even with duel monitors you need to see the game to not mess up and also pay attention to the show to know whats going on.
Yeah I know people like that as well. Idk why I feel comfortable doing it?
At first I thought this would take much longer and take multiple NG cycles. But then I remembered that, unlike in the other games in the series including Elden Ring, you don't need a Titanite Slab to max ANY weapon regardless of upgrade path. And Titanite Slabs are actually farmable, also unlike in the other games. And no, I do not want you or anyone to try and max out every weapon in Elden Ring without using glitches or cheats 😅
Ghost blade on the third run😳
It took me literally forever to get that one
Commenting this before the video starts: As someone who grinded for the blue slab for about a week to get the platinum trophy on PS3, the goal of this video is a very bad idea...
There's a Slab in Kalameet's arena? Seriously?! Are you kidding me!?
I wonder how Day 1 Dark Souls would change this run
All weapons with all infusions, all armors, all shields run when?
Now do armor. Hehehehehehe
Honestly, math could probably reveal how long that would be.
Hell yeah! Babe wake up, new TrevTheDev video!
That final time is shockingly good. I was fully expecting it to be 1.5-3x longer. Great video!
Yeah it was way quicker than I thought as well. I’m sure I would’ve pushed 100+ hours or more if I did do a full farm of darkwraiths for slabs.
@@trevthedev6134 or if you did the full spectrum of elemental variants for every weapon that has them 😱 (which would be utterly ridiculous and beyond unnecessary... unless? 🤔)
It's one am and I'm eating cake.
Goodnight
I thought I was the only player who did this thanks for the math
I way overestimated the number of Dark Hands you'd get. I was guessing it would be as common as a lot of the weapon/armor drops I got farming covenant items in Dark Souls III, which was probably into the hundreds by the time I was done with one of them.
Haha well if I didn’t farm crystal lizards I’d imagine it would be well into the 100s. 17 slabs / 73 dark hands, so if I grinded up another 50 it would come out closer to 400ish is my guess
@@trevthedev6134 Yeah once you mentioned the great hallow lizards you pulled the rug under me. Funnily enough I was doing a casual ds1 run earlier today where I went through that area, crossed my fingers for chunks and slabs and it didn't cross my mind that you could use the area for a challenge like this.
Great video! But i don't really get it : how did you manage to have that many titanite slabs?
So in the great hollow, each crystal lizard has a roughly 10% drop rate for titanite slabs. You can make a backup of your save file if you kill one and don’t get it, as the drop will be different each time. It does take quite a while to do (a couple hours for all 10), and I wouldn’t really recommend it unless you’re doing something like this.
the real question we want answered is how long does it take to collect all the sword in sekiro?
Okay, but how long would it take to get every weapon of every infusement, level, and level of wear?
Another banger from the Dev
at that point i think its just faster to do ng+ and farm titanite slab at the great hollow rather than the darkwraiths at new londo
Yeah, the real kicker is chunks in ds1 as you can’t purchase them anywhere. Ivv be think the black knights in the kiln are a faster chunk farm, but you miss out on possible slabs that way.
Just read the title and I'm already afraid of the amount of farming required :O
God why this is so interesting to watch and know
i remmber doing this for both weapon and armor, cook a couple hundred hours. Edit: not slab, just +14 obviously
What about the different upgrade paths for a single weapon
Nice vid. Actually it takes about 80hours in stuff without savestates but things can be shaved around. Like I killed the drakes with the 4-5 darkwraiths in Lando and still was annoying
Pretty impressive you manged this in 60hrs! Took me 50 Hours to 100% the game on my first playthrough. Going for all those slabs and chunks sounds terrible!
Yeah I’m right there with you tbh, I don’t think I beat any of 1-3 under 50 hours
