How to Build a DIY Off-Grid Pressurized Shower System

  • Hey guys! Today I built an off-grid pressurized shower system - also good for rinsing off feet, as I discovered. I wanted to move to the next step in our self sufficiency, and this was a next on the list. We tried a five gallon bucket system, but mostly just ended up getting water up our noses when we dunked. So a shower system was a must! This system works simply by adding warm water to the pump sprayer, pumping up the pressure, and spraying with the garden nozzle. Look forward to an update on how it's working for us!
    Thanks for watching!

    I bought a brand new garden sprayer. I also bought a kitchen sink sprayer & a 6ft braided hoses.
    I kept the siphon "straw" & connected it to the braided hose. I didn't need any special connectors since it was already made for the kitchen sprayer.
    It has excellent pressure because the sprayer has small holes! 6-8 pumps gives 30-40 second strong burst.
    No special pumps, gas for heating or anything. That's true off grid style!

      Nice! I just picked up a kitchen sprayer with a hose attached at our local Goodwill. I can't wait to try it out on our sprayer!

      Just bought a 3 gallon metal sprayer. I already have the kitchen sprayer from a faucet I replaced.

    I think I’m going to make one of these myself for feature off-grid living. Thanks for sharing! God bless! 🙏🥰

    I purchased my weed sprayer for $15.00, and a spraying head $15.00 at Home Depot. The sprayer I have does not require me to hold the handle down to get water. it is a button that I push up/down to desired strength and on/off Cool creation. Thank you for sharing. I might need the connector you mentioned because I purchased the 1/4 inch hose adapter 💖

      iFlow Magazine wow. That is great that you do not have to hold your handle down to get water. If I go to Home Depot, can you possibly tell me what I would look for in order to get a nozzle like yours that has a button to push down as well? At Home Depot do you think it would be near the Garden Hoses? I'm new to all of this and definately "workmanship challenged" when it comes to putting things together like this (lol). So, not sure what to even look for. Also, do you think the connectors would be the same with the type of nozzle that you used? Thanks so much in advance.

    Exactly what I was looking for. Some thread tape perhaps, but if it doesn't leak no worries. Saw something like this years ago and now that I bought a van for the beach, this will help keep sand out by rinsing off 1st.

    Hey, this is how we lived on our boat going around the world when I was 10-16 --no electricity (except later, using a generator, for lights), no electronics. Had to polish and trim kerosene lamps hung in gimbals from the wall. I do

    Great idea! Paint that bad boy black so the sun will warm the water up for you. Also maybe the pressure will be higher if you made the hose thicker yes more work but if you really wanted the pressure. It looks like you do have enough pressure just like you were saying so thank you for your video

    Thanks for the demonstration and ideas. I would of liked to have seen you showing the shower head on the different settings that it has. You possibly may have better pressurized spray on a different setting. Plus you did not say or show what setting you had selected for your demonstration.

    • @Jo-Leaton
      @Jo-Leaton  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      lol, well we’re planning on staying on the grid just enough to have some form of Internet. Ideally it would be solar powered. It may just be what we can pull from the hotspots on our iphones. Good question!

    Why wouldn’t you show it in use with the “shower” setting at the end instead of that funky setting it was on ? Made no sense .
