👋 JEANIE, THERE IS AN ALL NATURAL CAT LITTER FOR MY ALL 🐈 🐈⬛ CATS. IT IS PINE PELLETS,THAT I'VE BEEN USING FOR OVER 40 YEARS. NO SMELL,NO MESS.NO CHEMICALS, JUST NATURE.
Did you know they have a device for women so that we can go, even standing up. One device is called GO GIRL. There are many devices now and they are inexpensive.
A trick us fish keepers use for squeezing hose ends on to fittings is to dip the end of the hose in boiling water for 10 seconds and that will make it expand. It will shrink back and tighten when it cools.
Get an air valve hardware store, and drill a hole just smaller than the valve threads then thread the valve in, drill as close to the top and as close to the lid as possible,I got mine airtight with no problem the first time, I used some rubber silicone around it to be safe
I know that this is an older video but wanted to comment just the same. We have been doing almost exactly the same as you show here. I have a suggestion on the shower. Take a piece of painter's tape and run it vertically from top to bottom. Now paint the entire bottle black. Remove the tape. The tape was to leave a portion unpainted to gauge how much water remains. Now set a full bottle out in the sun. The sun will warm it up for you. If it gets too hot just add cool water. Now you have free heated water and a way to see how much remains. Good video...
One tip for the shower sprayer and that is to paint it black and leave it out in the sun to heat. The black color allows it to absorb the heat and you end up with a nice hot shower without having to add hot water. They can get pretty hot, so I would check the temp before showering.
Just a small tip. If using the kitchen type trash bags with the luggable loo; the bags are large enough to cover the seat. So instead of snapping the seat over the bag, simply snap the lid on then install the liner bag and hang the top over the seat. This prevents possible tearing of the bag on the rim by the snap and also the seat is kept clean since the bag is always over it. You can always use 2 bags - one snapped under the lid then one over the seat.
@@i2sky532 that's what I was wondering, as the toilet cover holds the bag in place and has never torn our bags. I feel it may be messier sitting on a bag?! But to each their own! 🤷♀️ gotta do what works best for you!
@@i2sky532 We're talking "kitchen type" 13 gallon "tall bags". If you are adult-sized there shouldn't be much "slipping around". If the bag is too loose you can always pull the drawstring tie (if available) or tie a knot in the top of the bag around the seat rim. Seriously, this is basically to make life easier by not having to fiddle with snapping the seat onto a bag that is inside a bucket plus keep other people's messes to themselves as seat protection.
I converted my Ford Explorer into an RV and just completed an 8100 mile trip to Arizona. The tent like the one shown works great. The weed sprayer not so much. 2 gallons of water takes a long time to warm up in the sun. Even when the sprayer painted flat black. The hose is also too short to set the sprayer on the ground and wash your hair. I found a medium size laundry detergent bottle and painted it flat black. I pulled the spout out of the opening and drilled five 1/4" holes in the top of the cap. It warms up in a couple of hours and is small and light enough to hold above my head while holding enough water to take a complete shower. A small cheap tarp for a floor helps too. If you can; dig a small depression in the ground under the tarp. It will hold the water that you showered with and can be used to wash your legs and feet. Every drop counts in the desert. The bucket with the toilet seat is great also. All of the necessary items can be stored in the bucket. Remember to put a fresh bag in as soon as you finish! You might be in a hurry the next time and you want to be prepared! I recommend buying baby wipes [non alcohol] at Walmart for completing the "paper work",' when a shower isn't possible right away. The pop up tents have a tendency to blow over in strong winds which can make showering impossible. They do pop right back up when the wind stops and can be quite entertaining to watch. Great video! Happy and safe travels...
Thank you so much for your feedback on this!! Great tips!! And yes, if the water is too cold to use for a shower we normally boil a kettle of water to mix in with it so it warms up. And yes, you definitely need to strap the pop-up tents down. We had some major winds come through one night in the mountains, and I was so glad we tied it to our jeep as an extra tie-down because we would have completely lost it if we didn't. Thank you again for the info and tips! Safe travels to you as well.
That's cool I prefer the old find a stump and dump. You can also do this with a 5 gallon bucket and a pool noodle. That's comfortable as well if you can't squat and pop. Happy adventures
Takes them time to get used to pellets. Try misting lightly, till they come around. Also, cats that have been declawed, their paws are too sensitive for most litter.

I've been a truck driver for years and used the bucket many times and places, Montana and Wyoming close the rest area toilets in the winter😢 This was a blessing when its subzero! It also doubles for a trashcan.
Good day. Following your example i substituted certain parts in order to make the hose longer and it worked beautifully. Thanks to you i finally could shower properly with water that i took from all the rainfall which was aprox 30”. It came in handy especially since our island, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷 got hit by Hurricane Fiona category 1 and we are still without water or power. Its was the anniversary of 5 years that another powerful Hurricane Maria category 5 hit our island and were without power or water for many months. Thank you from the bottom of ❤…..
Girl this is fabulous. I ran around to every hardware type store in my area trying to come up with something to use for a shower. I did come up with something that works fine but your idea is much better because you can control the water much better than what I came up with. Thank you so much!!
We bought one of those metal garden sprayers. It even came with a pressure guage of its own. We fill 3/4 full with warm water then heat it up on our propane stove. The pressure guage will give you an indication if it's getting too pressurized (due to the steam buildup inside). We have a pop-up shelter like you -- no floor though so we have a rubber matt with drain holes. Turn the sprayer to fine, coarse, whatever you want. On mist setting the inside of the shelter becomes this awesome steam sauna. My wife loves it.
Just an add-on I use this system with the horse bedding pellets and I have no problem with using it for number two they're the best odor control that I have ever had better than peat moss better than sawdust better than cat litter these horse pellets keep the older almost to a zero in fact it turns into a pine smelling. I use this on my small sailboat that does not have a toilet in it and it works perfectly with the horse bedding pellets from tractor supply
The shower is genius! And the TP on the bail of the bucket too. The horse bedding pellets, had never heard of them but sounds good - and it seems they can be used for cat litter boxes also. Cheaper than cat litter also.
The nice thing about the small sprayer nozzles that come with those garden sprayers is that they limit the amount of water so your shower will last longer. I think that garden hose sprayer will empty your sprayer pretty quickly. Also, people have probably commented on this as this is an older video but, if you spray paint your sprayer flat black, fill it and set it in the sun for a few hours you get a nice hot shower for free using solar. I like that toilet set-up. Safe travels.
We live in the very rural Western foothills of Maine (ON grid for most things most of the time), but we have a well and a septic tank rather than 'city' water and sewer out here a mile in the woods. Before we had the Solar Panels and Battery system on the house, we'd lose power frequently and before we had the deep artisian well drilled, we made due with shallow dug wells for water. During droughts and power outages, we'd have no running water, BUT we could haul water from the local lakes. It didn't take long before we got one of these sprayer setups. Ours is a 4gal and we found that 1.5 gal of water heated on the stove (propane or wood) and 2.5 gal of cold was the perfect temp for everyone in the household to take turns and be able to take a quick 'hot' shower...right in the shower we usually use when everything is running fine. It DOES work great when camping too. :) We didn't put a fancy nozzle on ours just the regular (shorter than yours) sprayer...but looking at your connections, I may just go get a nicer 'shower' head! Thanks for the video!
Lot more sensible and cost effective than some other solutions I have seen! And one of the great things is you are using things that are right for the type of camping you and hubby want to do.😊 thanks for sharing
Plumber here. I couldn’t help but notice you threaded the hose adapters in reverse. Lol! I wonder if the video was flipped, because the only reverse threading I know of is LP gas for safety and the handle assembly nut on a toilet tank flush lever. Love your ideas!
I totally understand about skipping the hair wash, I have long hair as well, but 2 gallons is definitely enough water to get it done. That's a great idea!
great ideas! I may try this garden sprayer idea. here's a tip for the toilet setup: Set your toilet into a milk crate and it will have added stability, especially for the 5 gallon buckets we use. Also makes it easier to strap down in the vehicle if offroading. Pellets work amazing .
Here’s how I use the bucket-loo…. 5 gal, Costco cheap no-drawstring 10gal (I think) bags. I attach the seat onto the bucket, in the bucket I place - roll of T.P., roll of bags or at least a bunch of bags, packet of moist baby-wipes, kitty litter if you want. That’s everything all packed ready to travel. When the urge becomes overwhelming…. I open lid (DO NOT REMOVE), remove T.P., wipes, bags… now I place a clean bag over the entire seat, push to bottom of bucket, leave plenty over the seat and down the outside of the bucket. I sit on the bag which covers the seat, it actually makes a sanitary ass gasket, do my duty 💩, baby wipe…. While camping it nice to freshen up, remove 💩bag and tie a knot (dbl bag if needed), place everything back in bucket. It’s now clean and ready for the next use. Seat and lid are never removed. Use kitty litter if desired. I’m 75y.o. and an expert of 💩 !
Practical, easy+simple set up & alternative, cheaper DIY solutions for shower & toilet in the outdoor. Never knew all it takes is a bit of imagination of DIY alternatives! Thanks Jeanie.
This is brilliant!! I bought one of those containers to shower with but the nozzle didn't give enough spray. This will be a huge game changer! Thank you! And ya..heating the hose part will make it easier to slip in the adapters as some have already mentioned.
I did the same for toilet as far as 5 gallon bucket & pop up. Only I got a lighter colored pop up as not to be too hot, used cedar shavings & also used a little garden hook that sticks in ground to hold TP & lamp 😊
Great video! So many other videos show these devices but your video is the best because we get to see exactly how it gets put together and the pop-up tent for a bath/shower is super easy! And thanks for sharing your tip on the horse pellets!
If the inner feed tube inside the sprayer is the wrong type of plastic it will flatten with the heat of the warm water and the increased air pressure and cut off or greatly restrict the water flow. If this happens you need to replace it with a copper feed tube or a different heat resistant plastic one.
Interesting! Good to know! Since it came all assembled as one... I hope they used good plastic! 😆 But So far so good. Haven't had issues yet, but I'll keep this in mind if I do. Thanks!
I do use a pop up tent and secure two of the higher tie ropes to my car roof bars for holding it. The other two I tie to two electric fence poles which are sturdy, easy to hammer into ground and easy to transport. I love the pop up tent. The door is different on mine. It opens to one side rather than a roll-up which is easier to open an close with one hand. I sleep in my Ford focus estate so the popup is a nice space to sit in on a breezy day. I also carry a couple of non slip light bath mats. They are great for a bit of clean flooring in the popup...or just anywhere outside on mucky or dirty ground. I find all sorts of uses for them! But to wash, I just use a popup basin on a pop up stool in it and another one in the floor to stand in which catches most of the water. Using a small jug and squeezy bottle I can wash my hair or 'shower'. I have two dry bags (meant for keeping clothes dry on a boat) in which I heat the water on the roof of the car. I add a bit of boiled water if needed when using. For toilet needs I prefer Tupperware containers. Pee straight into one, easy holds two pees! If unable to empty for a while, I empty it into a square 5 litre water bottle.. rarely had to do. An over lapping plastic bag in another Tupperware lined inside with kitchen roll works fine for poo. Seal after and store in strong bag until disposed of. Both tupperwares fit under my front car seat for easy storage and can be used on the car seat if need be by just placing a puppy training pad on the seat as a precaution when using. Very handy if caught out in a built up area with no access to a toilet or driving in heavy rain. Just pull over and job done!
This is a good idea, I’ll be using this tip. We’re in Colorado too, we camp our property and wanted to have some sort of shower for when we have guest. We have a well and I just built a small cabin. Thank you 🙏 for this tip
I completely agree. AND if it's windy out you don't have the wind banging your tent around making loud noises. Plus, protection from animals is a good feeling ;)
The shower thing is brilliant! I’m not off grid yet but I’ll remember this for when I am. You may want to consider getting some of those biodegradable bags for your toilet.
Put the shower sprayer on top of the toilet so you can spray your head and shoulders without bending. The hose doesn't appear to be long enough for tall people. You would also have a bit more room on the floor to move around in the privacy tent. Just remember to put a plastic sheet over the toilet so the paper stays dry.
Thanks for taking the time to make the video. The shower looks really cool. Don't know why you'd need to put hot water in it though, just leave the water reservoir in the sun. But at night, maybe heat it depending on the time of year.
I made the same thing except that I use a sink sprayer because it delivers more water pressure (I even blocked of a few of the holes in the end of the sprayer with gasket sealant to create more pressure).
Been using the Luggable Loo many years camping. I tried various things in bottom of toilet including packs you throw in for deodorizing and gelling. I tried the kitty litter but wasn't the effect I was hoping for. Tried sawdust and that is good but not easy to find. I like your idea of horse pellets. Gonna try that. I have a camping potty box where I store my clean potty bucket, seat, bags, etc. I am graduating from Ozark two room instant utility tent to a better tent soon. The Ozark leg blew out in a camping storm and a hole made also. My camping friend bought a joolca brand 2 room tent. But joolca now has the triple room tent similar to Coleman's ,9x10' instant cabin tent. It has a toilet room, a shower room and an area in the tent that accesses each of those...changing area. I like the thought of that because it solves the issue of where to dry out your towels after shower which is an issue. I do not like to store it outside where it is exposed to dirty, bird poop, bugs, etc. Can change without touching clean clothes, towels toilet, etc to the toilet area. And my children can share a sleeping tent and still have a private changing area in the three room joolca...I have a boy and two girls. I love my friends two room joolca. Quality great and nice features. So I'm sure the 3 room is great. Joolca has a shower system also. But it is much more expensive and more complicated. But good for extended stay campers like me who also do dry camping. Joolca is the Cadillac of shower utility tents and shower systems.
Wow, Thank you, Thank you Thank you; I Always new that, the Sprayer can be modified but was Unfamiliar of the Parts needed to make it happen. I've been wanting to do that for over 3yrs. upto now (2022). Again, I appreciate 'your & your husbands' help on that idea! *NOTE The efforts made of converting a small vehicle; (like a Sedan or SUV; for Camping) is an opportunity to consider a Box shaped spacious vehicle, without additional seating; (as a van).
This works really well! I do recommend using the SMALLEST amount possible of shampoo and focusing on the scalp. I have longer hair and it takes a fair bit of water to rinse lol 😆
I loved your 3 1/2 gal bucket idea to save space. This is Aug 2022 and apparently the price of that same bucket has gone up exponentially, $23.47!!! That is insane! I’ll have to shop around. But thank you for sharing that idea.
Very well rounded video of the necessities. Best one I've seen yet. Love how you incorporated the toilet, shower & pop up. I have that pop up and love it. Never heard of using horse pellets, so will go buy some to try. Getting tired of cat litter & those gel powders do not do what they should very well. And you made the shower details so easy to understand. Thanks for all the great info!! Just subscribed.
I use the horse pellets for my cats as well! I started off with Feline Pine pellets, which smell like fresh pine, NEVER smells like cat pee, but at 18 bucks a bag, ouch! The horse pellets are $6. Don't smell quite as piney, but what a savings!! Love it
@Laurie Haas Now they sell the same thing as cat litter. I don’t live near a horse/tractor supply. A bag online is about $40-50. So I use the cat litter version.

I totally understand about skipping the hair wash, I have long hair as well, but 2 gallons is definitely enough water to get it done. That's a great idea!
Yes, I completely agree. After I took my body shower...I still had a ton of water left and could have totally washed my hair. Definitely doable!
This is the exact combination I wanted to get for out first camping!
Thank you for the details 😀
That's great!! So glad you found what your were looking for! Thanks for watching.
great ideas! I may try this garden sprayer idea. here's a tip for the toilet setup: Set your toilet into a milk crate and it will have added stability, especially for the 5 gallon buckets we use. Also makes it easier to strap down in the vehicle if offroading. Pellets work amazing .
Did same crate idea ,and , some scrap wood in bottom of crate to get the bucket to a better height.
The pellets are life savers! My cat won’t use normal litter now and it works for my camping bucket toilet lol
Right?! They are the best for both cats and us 😉🐈🚽
I've been camping most of my life and the shower from the pump spray rank is 2cool!!! Great video
Kitty litter heavy and nasty.try pine pellets
THANK YOU FOR BEING SO KNOWLEDGEABLE ABOUT CAMPING, I AM CAMPING ILLITERATE BUT I WANTED TO GIVE IT A TRY! THIS IS AWESOME!
I don't know it all, but I try! You got this! Just enjoy the journey!
One of most useful videos for caravan-road trip life. The best way to avoid the black tank mess. Thanks so much.
Practical, easy+simple set up & alternative, cheaper DIY solutions for shower & toilet in the outdoor. Never knew all it takes is a bit of imagination of DIY alternatives! Thanks Jeanie.
We are about to go on our first camping trip in our SUV. I love watching your videos for tips! Thank you!
Have so much fun! Thanks for watching!!
This is brilliant!! I bought one of those containers to shower with but the nozzle didn't give enough spray. This will be a huge game changer! Thank you! And ya..heating the hose part will make it easier to slip in the adapters as some have already mentioned.
Happy Camping!! Thanks for watching!
I did the same for toilet as far as 5 gallon bucket & pop up. Only I got a lighter colored pop up as not to be too hot, used cedar shavings & also used a little garden hook that sticks in ground to hold TP & lamp 😊
Good point for a battery lamp.
You are amazing THANK YOU for leaving the links to what we needed to build the shower!!!
Of course!! Thanks for watching!
For me, the best ideas ever. Good job, mrs
Great video! So many other videos show these devices but your video is the best because we get to see exactly how it gets put together and the pop-up tent for a bath/shower is super easy! And thanks for sharing your tip on the horse pellets!
Awesome! I appreciate that! Thanks so much and happy camping!!
Wow thank you so much for adding your shopping list and sharing the full demonstrations. This is a game changing life saver.
Well looks like she's discovered camping, lol, and the goodies that go with it, pretty cute...Have fun camping.
Been camping many times, just not off-grid in an SUV. So much fun! Thanks for watching! Happy Camping to you as well!
We’ve been camping for years and you showed s some new ideas..Thanks
That's so great to hear! Thanks for watching and happy camping to you!
I really like your ideas. Both of the ideas are very clever. Thanks for sharing them!
Thanks so much! We love both! Glad you found this helpful!
Thanks!
uhhhhh... the pressure inside the tube is the same as the pressure outside the tube.. why will i flatten??
@@mithrandir1313 Great in theory but whatever is going on in practice this hsppens
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thank you!!!!!
What an awesome video, great ideas and simple enough that even I can do, and I'm not "handy" in any way shape or form! Thanks so much!
This is a good idea, I’ll be using this tip. We’re in Colorado too, we camp our property and wanted to have some sort of shower for when we have guest. We have a well and I just built a small cabin.
Thank you 🙏 for this tip
Thank u for sharing. I recently started living in my car unfortunately but going to move to a van. This is a great ideal. Thank you
This would work great to wash dishes. Thanks for this information.
I think its a super cheap and care free idea for camping. Amazing. Thanks for sharing 👍
Another sprayer option is to use a kitchen sink sprayer it works great for me
I think the best part of camping in a vehicle is staying dry and never having to pack up a wet tent.
We always just peed behind a tree lol . I have a shower tent with a shower bag that hangs in it . Perfect
Very good video informative ..thank you!
I made the same thing except that I use a sink sprayer because it delivers more water pressure (I even blocked of a few of the holes in the end of the sprayer with gasket sealant to create more pressure).
That's a great tip! 👍
A sink sprayer? for more pressure? Sounds good!
great video and tips for my debut camping trip. Thank you
Loo fits all 5 gallon buckets too.pine pellets are horse bedding.can also get small bags at pet stores.its the 👌
Seriously so cool! And I just learned how to save a ton on money for my cats litter
OMG! I am so excited! This was super easy! I can do this! Love it! Thanks for sharing!
You got this! Thanks for watching!
Amazing. Heartiest congratulations
Of course! Glad you found this helpful!! Happy Camping to you!
This works really well! I do recommend using the SMALLEST amount possible of shampoo and focusing on the scalp. I have longer hair and it takes a fair bit of water to rinse lol 😆
Definitely! I'm planning on giving it a try this summer 🤞 thanks for watching!
This was awesome! TY Jennie!
Thanks for watching!!
Thank you very much🙏🏽
That was very helpful 💙🤙🏽
I like it for plant watering.
Awesome video. i really appreciate you guys showing what you need for the sprayer.
Of course! Thanks for watching!
Nice home! Life is good!⛺️⛺️⛺️
This is good for truck drivers to get by in a "pinch"
Beautiful idea! Subscribed.
we use the toilet, We cut out the bottom of our bucket so when camping we just dig a hole and place the bucket on top. for city this would be great.
Thanks for the idea
It’s better than a shower bag!
Definitely! Thanks for watching!
Paint the sprayer black, fill it with water and leave it in the sun for the day. The water should be warm enough for a quick shower.
Yes, great tip!
I loved your 3 1/2 gal bucket idea to save space. This is Aug 2022 and apparently the price of that same bucket has gone up exponentially, $23.47!!! That is insane! I’ll have to shop around. But thank you for sharing that idea.
Yes, I love that bucket! And wow! Yes, that's definitely went up!
That's wonderful! So happy you found this helpful! Thanks so much! Happy camping to you!
I use the horse pellets for my cats as well! I started off with Feline Pine pellets, which smell like fresh pine, NEVER smells like cat pee, but at 18 bucks a bag, ouch! The horse pellets are $6. Don't smell quite as piney, but what a savings!! Love it
Definitely!! We don't have any urine oder with the horse pellets. They're amazing!
@@lauriehaas7386 I am trying to get my cats on horse pellets but 10 months in, only one will occasionally pee in it. Sigh.
@Laurie Haas Now they sell the same thing as cat litter. I don’t live near a horse/tractor supply. A bag online is about $40-50. So I use the cat litter version.
This Lady is Smart 😉👍
Very good tips. Thanks You have another sub!
Thank you for the product list!
Very helpful, thanks!
