For a fast bowler who consistently bowls above 143kph being beaten for more runs is kinda understandable because you just have to touch the ball with the bat and it could run away for a boundary because it already comes with a lot of pace when it's above 143
Mark wood is underrated. He bowls around 150 mark all the time. Not many bowlers these days bowl that fast that too in a test match. Also he is 32 years old
Speed means nothing if not consistent with accuracy. Despite getting some wickets here and there most of the time his balls are not in good length and he got smashed far too many in test matches
Absolutely love this Ground and pitch . Ample of Movement for Bowlers , fast outfield , Evenly Bounced pitch . More helpful for bowlers but Batsman can make runs very Fast here.
I dont know why no one is appreciating boland his catches were dropped he still bowled well he protected steve smith and travis head in the last few overs. Got too many body blows from wood such a strong man boland you are love you from 🇮🇳.

We have seen macgreath with amazing seam bowling ability but pat Cummins for me is way ahead he has not only got seam bowling ability but with pace he is more venomous than Macgreath. Still Macgreath was monster in bowling and he did that for 100+ test. And Cummins just played 36+ test. If Cummins will able to kick that performance till 100 test matches then I think he will be the best bowler ever in the history of Test cricket

Now I'm 100% convinced that Cummins is aiming for Roots balls 🤣 It happened last match too, and Starc got him in Adelaide shortly before dismissal. Root should have never forgotten his box at training!
Those hook shots by Lyon were brilliant, and off 145+kph. Sweet work and entertaining. Nothing of note from the English batting. Wood was terrific and that ball to Khwaja was a cracker. Cummins was good as always, and maybe we now just expect it and gloss over it as "normal". Boland tight with good variation. Plus his cameo batting as night watchman was great to watch at the end. That was a very tough 90 minute session under lights and he got right in behind 150kph showing guts. Great final ball by Wood that was damn well played by Boland to keep it out. England had the best of the conditions. I like this pitch...bat well and you can make 300+, but bat poorly and you could be rolled for 100. It is meant to be a "test".

Those hook shots by Lyon were brilliant, and off 145+kph. Sweet work and entertaining. Nothing of note from the English batting. Wood was terrific and that ball to Khwaja was a cracker. Cummins was good as always, and maybe we now just expect it and gloss over it as "normal". Boland tight with good variation. Plus his cameo batting as night watchman was great to watch at the end. That was a very tough 90 minute session under lights and he got right in behind 150kph showing guts. Great final ball by Wood that was damn well played by Boland to keep it out. England had the best of the conditions. I like this pitch...bat well and you can make 300+, but bat poorly and you could be rolled for 100. It is meant to be a "test".
