I haven't had my white fillings changed for long time.. I guess I have looked after my teeth well with brushing and flossing 3 times a day!

I belive I'm gonna need a root canal. I have had pain in that tooth with literally just water😔
Oh no! Sensitivity to hot or cold localized on one tooth can definitely mean the pulp inside the tooth is inflamed and starting to die indicating a root canal is needed. That being said sometimes we can put a medication in the tooth and see if the tooth settles down. My recommendation would be to go to your dentist and have them perform endodontic testing to see if the tooth is still alive or not. If it is, a filling may suffice. If not, you may be correct in needing root canal therapy.

I’ve had a couple spots that I’ve remineralized… I’m a big fan of prevention and minimally invasive.
Oh no! Hopefully the chocolate was worth it😉

It was worth it but definitely taught me to chew on the other side of my mouth 😂😂
You definitely should! It only can be done if it’s detected early enough.
It’s amazing how quick we can be to respond when one side of our mouth is affected. You learn pretty quick to chew on the other side 😂
@@DentistJess is it something that's done for cavities or if the enamel of the tooth is eroding?
Oh for sure! Even now that it's fixed I'm wary of chewing on that side in case the filling falls out again 😂😂
If the enamel is starting to demineralize- it becomes kinda white and chalky- we can try to harden and re mineralize it. However if it goes too deep, then we have to do a filing.
Just remember to keep your teeth nice and clean! And I’d avoid sticky toffee or hard nuts on that site 😉

One thing in dentistry that’s so important is making sure patients learn and understand what you’re trying to communicate. Hence the channel 😉 it’s a delicate balance between not becoming too complex but not loosing factuality.

Thanks for sharing and being honest. Yes a dentist office can be a scary place for many people. As a dentist I try to create a safe place for my patients. But the long term ramifications of not taking care of your oral health can have scary outcomes as well. It’s why I’m such a big advocate of prevention and early intervention.
