I'm primarily a union fan, but I always watched RL when I was a kid in the UK. This series stood out as a great series for me over all these years. It's a shame how the game has been mismanaged.
I was at all 3 tests with my dearly departed dad,this was one of the best test matches I've ever seen Garry schofield produced a superb performance to gun down the aussies
Went to all 3 tests . Loved them all even though the Aussies won the series . International RL was ‘ on the up ‘ . I despair to see what’s gone on in the last 25 years.
I watch Rugby League as a casual fan and I am sure someone will correct me, but I dont remember a better series than this between GB and Australia. I watched this as a 12 year old back when it happened and it was amazing. The tries the crowd atmosphere just awesome. This was some GB team. Hanley, Offiah, Schofield, Gregory, and team GB still didnt win the series so that shows what a team Australia had as well.
I remember watching this series as a 15 year old in Australia at around 1 am. . I can remember Steve Hampson doing handstands / walking on his hands in front of the crowd at full-time. The 2nd test was also a belter of a game in that series. Some memorable moments, tries and how good are the English fans for atmosphere. There has never been a better series than this one in 1990.
Fuck me, what an outstanding test match. And all the superstars on display. And hats off to the Aussie commentators, they were so neutral, showed such enthusiasm for good GB play.

Graham Hughes (I think it’s him) is an absolute tool of a commentator, can’t see anything good in GtBritain and Australia are brilliant angels. He’s a complete joke, how did he get the top callers job?

I love how the Aussie commentators would think a French referee would give GB all the calls. They obviously don’t know their European history. 😂

No time wasting in rucks, scrums, and lineouts, league so much faster and exciting.
GB celebrated far too hard after 1st Tests of 1990 and 1994 and assumed they'd win the next 2.

Aussies blatantly and continuously offside and get penalised...Aussie commentator says..."Australia not being allowed to settle into any rhythm".
