    Hey man! Just wanted to thank you for uploading this tutorial, as I managed to retrofit a DEC switch in my own F10. Followed your steps and had it installed, and only needed to fully code 2TB through e-sys as bimmercode wasn't enough. Now both the throttle response and the steering wheel handling are much better when in sport/sport+! Again, thanks dude. Keep up the great content!

    On my 2013 the pin switches on ICM are 11 and 10. ICM 11 goes to 4, and ICM 10 goes to 5. Just in case those instructions do not work for someone. M5 models are 31 and 45 as you listed, which is really interesting.

    Hey man great video! I just have a couple questions...
    I have a 2011 535i as well without the normal/sport switch, and it seems like using the new switch to enter "Sport" is the same as knocking the gear selector from "D" to "S" , and then using the new switch to enter "Sport+" is the same as knocking the selector from "D" to "S" and then also pressing the wiggly road button to active "Traction Mode" ... so is the new switch just making these things easier to do, or is it actually changing other settings as well? I have the xHP stage 3 trans tune on, which gives me the quick shifts that I think the coding from 205 to 2TB would do. Appreciate any insight you have! Also subbed!

    • @JohnsonMotorsports
      @JohnsonMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, the normal/sport switch not only changes the transmission mapping, but it also gives better throttle response. On cars with sport suspension, it changes the dampening and also makes the steering feel heavier.
      The XHP transmission tune is completely different then the sport transmission. I have the XHP tune planned for later this year.

    • @HighsideClyde
      @HighsideClyde 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@JohnsonMotorsports gotcha, thanks for the reply! My car doesn't have active suspension (just regular but lowered on H&R sport springs), and my car is xDrive so it has hydraulic steering rather than the electronic steering RWD cars have, so I don't think my steering feel would change. As far as pedal feel, I have the MHD linear throttle mapping on, so I don't think my pedal feel could be any better... sounds like for my circumstances the new buttons wouldn't really add any functionality. Thanks again man, I don't feel so left out anymore not having the mode selection buttons!
      Side note: The xHP trans tune is 100% worth it! I flashed my car with it yesterday and all of a sudden I am in love with the car again!

Anytime I need to get over quickly, I switch to Sport mode and the car is drops a gear and is already in boost, plus the throttle response is much better.

      Yeah, the install is pretty simple. The worst part was removing the plug down inside the center console. I definitely feel a difference with the new modes. I don't have dynamic suspension either, but it gives me better throttle response as well as steering. Car feels a lot more alive in Sport and Sport+.

    • @JohnsonMotorsports
      @JohnsonMotorsports  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, from what I can tell this is more than just sports transmission. I coded sports transmission roughly 9 months ago. These modes will utilize Sports transmission, but they give you a lot better throttle response and steering. With the dynamic suspension, I believe it’s even nicer. I haven’t had a lot of time to test the differences, but I think the car may have a slightly higher boost target. I could be wrong. I’m not tuned yet.

    You needed to take the two plastic bolts out (Carefully) that are in the center holding the console down and the two tore screws up front, then you can easily lift up the whole center console and access underneath.
