Listening you talk about Oxford all these years, I never dreamed I would become connected to it. My daughter and her husband are moving there in April 2022. He accepted a position as an Anesthesiologist with the hospital in Oxford. We will be moving to Germantown, Tennessee from Oklahoma to be near them but not too close. I believe in giving the newlyweds space.
I so enjoyed seeing you and Michael explore my childhood hometown. I live in Texas now too. Brings back lots of fun memories. My brother still lives there and runs up and down West Mountain almost every day. My grandmother was a nurse at the creepy looking Army Navy Hospital. Holds a lot of memories for me. She used to take me with her to fill water jugs at the Whittington fountain you showed. For years there was open gambling in "Little Las Vegas." When my dad was young, he delivered groceries and liquor to Al Capone and Lucky Luciano when they stayed there. My grandmother's best friend's son, Dane Harris, owned one of the best night clubs in town, The Vapors. She used to sneak me backstage to watch Tony Bennett, Liberace, and other stars back then. We go back every other year or two and enjoy it so much. Happy that you and Michael enjoyed your stay there too.
so glad you got to experience one of my favorite places! you have to go back at christmas, it’s unbelievable. garvin gardens has a huge light show. the ohio club has some of the best food i’ve ever had. also, the bath houses & massages are absolutely worth trying. the clothing stores are also top notch!
The Garvin Gardens are really awesome at Christmas. It's only about a mile from my house and my brother helped build it. We take my nieces and nephews every year to see the lights 😊

I always wanted to make a stop in Hot Springs when we traveled from Ohio to Texas but we never did. Great vlog!! I now might have to make the trip to Hot Springs.

Hot Springs is awesome, we loved be in Texas, but usually visit at least once a year. The Wharf is a good place to eat and we enjoy a little dinner called the English Muffin for breakfast. We’ve been going for year and have watched the area grow. We usually take a barge and spend time on the lake. Lake Hamilton is between two lakes, Lake Catherine and Lake Quachita. At the dam where Lake Quachita and Lake Hamilton, the water is actually very cold even in the summer. There are very lovely houses on Lake Hamilton. We have stayed all over the place. We have not eaten there, but passed by many times, as it is usually busy, but McClards is a BBQ place that has been featured in Southern Living.
I grew up in Hot Springs, I live in NW Arkansas now, I still have family in Hot Springs. Really, enjoyed your video. When you grow up you really don't go to a lot of the touristy places. So it was nice to see some of them....lol

I loved seeing Hot Springs. My hubby and I don’t travel much and I’ve never been to that part of the country. It was fun seeing it from my living room. I like this type of video. And all your others as well. 😊
Hi Marnie, We took a get away trip too, (stayed at the Armory in Downtown Bozeman, Montana). Yes, the businesses were all closed on Monday & half on Tuesday. It poured down rain (& it hasn't rained all dang summer!!!). We had issues with our food & service too, seems like a common thing that is going on. There is a Bar there that I hadn't been to since College (1986). We ate lunch there & I decided that Rick & I each needed a baseball cap with the Rocking R patch. The Bill came & my husband asked "Is this our bill"? ($93) She said Yes, each hat is $30!!! Needless to say, I heard about that the rest of the trip!! LOL I haven't been to Arkansas since I was a little girl. We stayed the night there when My Dad PCS'd to MacDill. I used to have a small green coin purse from there. 😘

Great Vlog!! Ohio Club is one of our favorites in downtown Hot Springs. We were not impressed with Maxine’s. Love the outdoor patio at Rolando’s. We have not done the Gangster Tour but we are going to go😃😃
I'm sad we missed out on the Ohio Club. Maxine's did not go well for us at all. The outdoor patio at Rolando's was so slanted that it made for a very uncomfortable dining experience! ;)

I love Hot Springs! What hotel was that? I probably missed you saying it….we usually get a VRBO but I think it would be fun to stay near the bath houses in an old hotel!
I would have been weary of riding the duck boat tour after one went under there years ago and killed several people. We use to go yearly to Hot Springs Village when my dad was living but he has been gone for 12 years and I don’t think it would be the same without him. I’m glad you enjoyed yourself.

We enjoy going to Hot springs during the Horse racing season. Oaklawn Park has lots of history too. Thanks for sharing.

You need to come to Northwest Arkansas. You’d absolutely love downtown Bentonville. Crystal Bridges is an amazing museum you should check out.

Hot Springs is my favorite. I worked at the Buckstaff and the Arlington right out of massage therapy school. Bath House row is a favorite.

We were in room 516 when we were there Oct 30/31! Such a small world!
We also loved the Vault- also recommend the Ohio club for drinks and live music.
We first had the light up menus in Cabo and I am so easily entertained by them!

They totally redid the boats with added safety precautions. Much different than they were pre-accident.
