Loved the silent disco. So much fun. I agree with you about formal night. That’s one reason we don’t do Royal Carribean any more. Don’t want to sit next to tee shirt and shorts. Try Celebrity Aqua class. We love that.
Marnie, this was such a wonderful video. It was very informative and detailed. Thanks so much for sharing and for your honesty. Truly gives me hope that I will be traveling again soon.
You just brought back a ton of memories from our cruise this past January 2023! My son and future bride's bachelor/bachelorette "cruise" party with the parents and most of the wedding party. We were on the Royal Caribbean "Freedom of the Seas" cruise. It was our first cruise, and it was an awesome experience! It looks like you had a terrific time!
The video footage was a lot longer, but I took out a few rants, including more than one with me going off on people showing up to formal night in athletic wear. ;)
Beautiful footage and you're such a gorgeous couple and great planners. The cruise ship is amazing and much different than my cruise many years ago. Have a great weekend!
Thanks for this. My family’s Alaskan cruise was cancelled in 2020 and some members are itching to rebook but I’ve been hesitant. This hasn’t completely changed my mind, but it’s been helpful.
Love this Vlog! This was the first video I saw of yours. It’s so cool you have Westies! I have 2, love cruising, and am Jewish too. Please do more cruise vlogs, your style is great 💓
Loved this vlog! We are going on a cruise next month with Holland America and we haven't been on a cruise since the pandemic. Your evening attire was beautiful. I love to dress up for dinner on the cruise. Just read that our ship has pretty much eliminated that event for dinner, but we are doing it anyway. Also, loed the unpacking video and I am ordering off your list.!
Love the cruise video, Marnie! Especially since I can't right now. Brings back great fun memories. Thanks so much for taking us along on your fun adventure! Loved all your outfits and clicking your links!
So happy you filmed your amazing trip! I have always wondered what a cruise would be like, this was really nice too see. You look so pretty in all your outfits. You do not need self tanner by the way, your skin is naturally gorgeous.
Hi Marnie! This was so much fun...I've been watching for this post. ❤😎 Thanks for taking us along! You had me laughing out loud at the towel creatures...too cute. Glad you and your hubby had a great time.
Marnie!!! This is so much fun!! I am only half way through but enjoying the vlog so much. I have never cruises before ..hubs would like to, but I am scared. Anyway, having fun watching and feeling tempted!!! It is fun to see you and Michael so playful with each other, thank you for showing happy life after empty nesting
Enjoyed watching your cruise experience w COVID. We are going on our first cruise w the pandemic in March and we are so excited 😊. Glad to know all the important stuff and elements that make cruising fun are still intact. You guys look great in the pictures!
Enjoyed watching , my husband and enjoy cruising as well . We are Royal Caribbean cruisers . We went on two last year and one this coming week 😊 we will be Diamond this year . We also love to dress on Formal night which they call dress your best now . I am very happy how they are handling the precautions on the ships . Thank for sharing loved your outfits .
What a great video and vacation. We had two cruises on Norwegian from 2020 pushed to 2021 and then pushed to this year. I am hoping to push back again to 2023--we live in NY so are subjected to Covid mandates (like masking) enough daily without doing so on vacation. Love your outfits.
I will admit that we were tempted to book another cruise while on ship but I won't do it again until the mask mandates on ship and port are removed. When we booked the cruise they weren't in place. They were arbitrary and made zero sense. AND it was HOT wearing a mask in the jungle and rainforest!
Hi Marnie, I have never been on a cruise so this was fun and interesting to see your vacation. It looks like a once in a lifetime trip. Thank you for taking us all along virtually with you. Your outfits were lovely. The gown you wore on formal night was beautiful. Thanks for the wonderful vlog. xoxo, Karen
Such a great video! Thank you for all the details in your room, menu etc. I love the old town main street on the ship! You and Michael are just stunning! Look like the model couple on the brochure! 💥
I’m Fellow Texan here!! So happy to find your video we leave in May so preparing! How was the night life with less crowds? Still fun? We are so excited first real vacation since covid started.
How wonderful Marnie! Thank you for sharing! I’ve never been on an ocean cruise ….this looks tempting! We have been on a River Cruise in Europe which was quite wonderful also, just on a smaller level 😃
@@MsGoldgirl We traveler on the Viking Cruise 🚢 Ship and it was one of the best trips we’ve ever taken! It was a 2 week Grande European tour! I’d highly recommend it. We got a suite too! We were celebrating our 30 year wedding anniversary!
Marnie thank you to yourself and Michael for sharing your lovely cruise with us 💕💕hubby and I love to cruise to and enjoy any excuse to dress up as well 🌸we head off on our first cruise in November since Covid started and we are so excited can’t wait 🎉❤
We had a cruise booked for May of 2020 and we were going to hit diamond on that trip. We haven’t rebooked that trip yet. I have to say I don’t agree with you on the formal nights - we have to get dressed up for work every day and when I go on vacation, I hate to get dressed up, but that’s the beauty of cruising. They have plenty of other options if you prefer not to get dressed up. Glad you guys enjoyed your trip! It looked like a lot of fun!
I understand that not everyone wants to get dressed up, but then that's a night to go to one of the specialty restaurants, get dinner at the Windjammer, or even room service. It's very odd to be sitting in a gown and see someone in a tshirt and shorts sitting at the next table!
We cruised their sister ship Oasis of the Seas and had a pretty experience. It was very busy so not sure I’d take a larger ship again. Couldn’t go to the pool or enjoy other amenities because there were always lines. Our Stewart was very odd. Always in the hall almost lurking. He made me uncomfortable.
Loved watching this! We live a little north of Galveston, but not quite to Houston. We shall wait to cruise until they relax some Covid restrictions, but I really enjoyed the vlog!
This was enjoyable to watch and beautiful scenery and the ship seemed to have all the amenities! Bummer with the masks, but looks like it was still fun.. disco dancing with headphones, lol!!
We have a cruise booked for next year but now I wish it was sooner! Funny, the way I originally found your channel was researching Alaskan cruises a few years ago
You are so lucky to live in San Antonio, I'm from there. Love silent disco! Great outfits! I cannot believe that people go to Formal night in shorts and flip flops....wow!
Hi Marnie, glad you had a great time. We were also booked for a Royal Caribbean cruise (Harmony of the Seas) leaving out of Port Canaveral, Florida on January 16th, but we canceled due to all the commotion over getting tested for covid within 48 hours of leaving the port. With the destination cancellations (we had one) and possibilities of being confined to a stateroom because of possible exposure to covid, we canceled. There was also quite a bit of confusion of where to get a covid test. What was your experience with the covid testing before and during the trip?
Great questions. First of all, once you are tested before the trip, you aren't tested again. So unless you become clearly ill, no one is being confined to their cabin. The testing was SUPER easy-we actually ordered kits from the cruise line and did them at home via an app that has a video proctor. After that, no testing was necessary for us. Now, we didn't have to get on a plane to go home, so I'm not sure how that works.
I've never cruised - but it's on my bucket list to take a smaller ship to Alaska. My inner ear keeps recalibrating every few years -- ugh -- so I worry about being nauseous!
Thanks for taking us with you. I’ve never been on a cruise but would love to. I’m a little nervous because I do have issues with motion sickness but I’ve heard you can’t really tell you’re moving and most people are fine. Now, to get my husband to go!
We are about to go on that cruise for Spring Break and it looks amazing - thanks for sharing your adventures. Quick question, were you required to bring your passport for any of the excursions?
We will be going on this ship in July and my husband only received the J&J vaccine in January of 2021. Is he considered fully vaccinated if he receives an additional Moderna or Pfizer before our trip?
Same thing happened us in December on Royal. The customer service was disappointing. We had issues with billing us double gratuities. We couldn’t get it resolved until we called our travel agent. They insisted that we chose that option? Double gratuity? Anyway, we Still love Royal. The food on our most recent voyage, which was only the second voyage out of Tampa, was AMAZING!! Usually, I consider the food fair, but they really upped their game.
Think of it like this. Where else can you go where everyone 12 and over is vaccinated and every single person on the ship has presented a negative covid test? You're safer on the ship than going to the grocery store or eating out.
Enjoyed watching this video Marnie. Thanks for taking us along :) I love cruising but our last one was Feb 2020 before the world turned upside down...We're in Australia so not sure when we will be back on a ship again. We have a couple booked for around November this year so we are crossing our fingers and toes. Have a great week xx
Thank you - this was fun to watch. It's been many years since I've been on a cruise. Next one will be to Alaska maybe next year. It was fun to watch, but I'm sure we did not have as much fun as you!
Love all your outfits. Thank you for showing us all the things that you all did. It looks like a lot of fun. I would never go on a cruise…that is just me (and my husband), but thanks for taking us with you.
Wow! You have to make your videos in natural light and up close more often!! you look beautiful!! I am so glad and relieved to se all the Covid safety measures and happy that you both had a relaxing/great time, except for the CR issue. I can not travel due to a chronic condition I am having right now, but I do enjoys others' vacations ;) Thank you for sharing and for all the details in the description box :)
We have cruised on the Liberty 4 times, love the ship.I wish it was Amplified, but because of Covid it hasn’t been yet. We cruise a lot and longer do formal nights after 32 cruises, just so tired of it. We still dress nice, just not packing the shoes, dresses, suits anymore and all our friends feel the same. Great video, loved watching it! ⚓️
I loved watching this! It looks like you had a great time. I would love for my husband and I to go on a cruise. He gets seasick fairly easy. On such a huge ship, you didn't feel the waves too much, did you?! I want to book a trip for us! :)
it's interessting how different curise line works. the german part of tui curises does regular cleanings of the ship, they tell you a day before that it's happening tho. i thought it was kinda fun because the opened all the screens to the other balconies so we had a chat with our neighbors 5 doors over LOL
Thanks for sharing Marnie! Looks like a great time 🛳 My hubby & I went on our first cruise in 2019 to Alaska, it was amazing & thankful we did that before life got COVID-crazy. This summer is our 25th & we had planned to do another cruise, but, I HATE wearing masks & so we decided we won’t cruise again until the masks on cruise mandate is over. But who knows when that will be🤷♀️Just seems like it would really stink to have to wear them all the time on the ship. I’m wondering, will you cruise again with a mask or wait until you can be mask free on a ship again? Your video def made me want to cruise again tho!
When we booked the cruise, our ship didn't have a mask mandate for vaccinated passengers (people over 12). They changed it about 2 weeks before we left and I was tempted to cancel but didn't. While I'm glad we went, there's no way I'm cruising again until they remove the mandate. I'm all for safety, but their rules were arbitrary and didn't make any sense. You could sit right next to a total stranger in the theater, even down to sharing an armrest with them, and you had to be masked, but if you ordered a drink then it was ok to remove it. They had the ship at 40% capacity but then crammed all the vaccinated passengers onto the same floor at dinner where the tables were about 18 inches apart. It was very weird.
@@MsGoldgirl thanks for your response! Interesting about the mask rules changing. (Thx Omicron😩)The ship sounds just like CA, where I live, none of the “rules” make any sense at all! And yes, the window washers need to wait until guests have left, that’s terrible! Glad you enjoyed yourselves otherwise😊
Don’t you just hate viewers that watch and don’t hit like lol ! Very informative I’m sailing wonder of the seas so I think I wanna upgrade to the suite!
If you can swing it, the junior suite was worth the upgrade. While the next size up is pretty amazing, I don't see the point if it's just the two of us traveling. If we were traveling with a group, then having the large living area and separate dining area would be a great place to gather privately. The next size up from our junior suite had a large sectional sofa that could seat at least 6-8 people and a dining table that could seat at least 4, plus a separate bedroom area.
Thank Marnie! You brought back memories of my honeymoon which included a short cruise with the same company. However, I can understand the canceled trip and the resulting mix-up - but the man at your balcony is a dreadful violation of privacy, especially when you were changing, and I hope it gets addressed.
I didn't go into explaining the canceled excursion because the vlog was getting too long. I understand last minute cancellations, of course, but it was the way they handled it that was wrong. The day before the excursion, we decided we wanted to see if we could change it to something else. So after dinner, we went to the Shore Excursions desk where we were informed that it was cancelled anyway. We asked them when they were planning on notifying us about it, and they said they had slipped a note under our door during dinner. Now most people don't go back to their room right after dinner. They go to the show, they go get drinks, maybe hit the casino, go to the nightclub, and then get back to the room closer to midnight. If that had been the case, we would have never found out it was cancelled and it would have been too late to make other arrangements. Instead of being apologetic, they were rude, condescending, and raised their voices. That's the problem I had with it. One of the staff members even got short with Michael when he was trying to confirm that we had received a refund for the canceled excursion. These excursions are hundreds of dollars-it's reasonable to want to confirm that the refund had been processed!
Marnie, you mentioned you cruised a lot with the boys when they were young. Would you cruise now with young kids and Covid? If so, what ports did you like best with kids over the years? Thanks!!!
I would definitely cruise with young kids. I don't know that I would recommend any that go to Belize-when we stopped here last time with the kids we didn't go on any excursions because most are 6-8 hours in the middle of nowhere.
This was very fun to watch. Have not cruised at this time but headed to Germany for a Rhine River Cruise in June. I know it will be different as the ships are very small but this was still very enjoyable. Thanks for the video.
Awh!! We went on a cruise over the holidays (x-mass and new year's), we have a cruise to northern Europe in July, and we just scheduled yet another cruise to the Panama Canal next December. I didn't realize how much I missed traveling!! Thanks for sharing!!
What a great Vlog! Ok so I had a cruise on this same ship booked for April, and I canceled it because I was worried about the timing and Covid. Ugh! Now watching your video is making me want to rebook. Thanks for sharing your trip!!
Great job editing, Marnie! You really showcased this cruise. Thank you for taking us along!

I enjoyed your vlog Marnie! Thanks for taking us along! Makes me want to book a cruise! 🚢 😊
A friend and I are cruising October this year out of Galveston on NCL’s new ship for 11 days! So excited! Haven’t cruised since 2015.
11 days sounds like heaven!! Have fun!
Great vlog
Everything on the ship looked really nice 👍🏻
It was!
I’ve cruised 3 times on Royal Caribbean out of Baltimore. Wonderful….even with less luxurious cabin…..because you don’t spend much time in the cabin.
Awesome vlog! Royal Caribbean is just simply the best!
Great pics
I loved watching this! It looks like you had a great time. I would love for my husband and I to go on a cruise. He gets seasick fairly easy. On such a huge ship, you didn't feel the waves too much, did you?! I want to book a trip for us! :)
We didn’t feel any motion at all until the next to last day when there were 12 foot swells. Even then it was very mild. Not like the old days.
Much appreciated. Thanks
it's interessting how different curise line works. the german part of tui curises does regular cleanings of the ship, they tell you a day before that it's happening tho. i thought it was kinda fun because the opened all the screens to the other balconies so we had a chat with our neighbors 5 doors over LOL
Yeah-I don't mind the cleaning, just give us a heads up first.
I can't imagine spending an entire cruise with a mask on. How incredibly uncomfortable. I'd rather stay home.
@@MsGoldgirl Wow sounds pretty bad for a nice cruiseline
What is the time stamp on the creeper? I missed it! Are balconies accessible on the outside?
@@abigailh7715 There is no time stamp. I didn’t film that. The balconies are accessible from the outside by maintenance workers.
@@MsGoldgirl Your complaints are not trivial. I hope that the cruise line takes them very seriously. I can't believe that behavior. What a pity.
That was so much fun! - thnx for taking us along! ❤️
Great pics!!🥰
Marnie, you mentioned you cruised a lot with the boys when they were young. Would you cruise now with young kids and Covid? If so, what ports did you like best with kids over the years? Thanks!!!
I would definitely cruise with young kids. I don't know that I would recommend any that go to Belize-when we stopped here last time with the kids we didn't go on any excursions because most are 6-8 hours in the middle of nowhere.
Thank you!
This was very fun to watch. Have not cruised at this time but headed to Germany for a Rhine River Cruise in June. I know it will be different as the ships are very small but this was still very enjoyable. Thanks for the video.
OOH! That's on my bucket list! Have a great time!
This was so fun to watch! Thanks for sharing!
Awh!! We went on a cruise over the holidays (x-mass and new year's), we have a cruise to northern Europe in July, and we just scheduled yet another cruise to the Panama Canal next December. I didn't realize how much I missed traveling!! Thanks for sharing!!
WOW!! Have fun!
What a great Vlog! Ok so I had a cruise on this same ship booked for April, and I canceled it because I was worried about the timing and Covid. Ugh! Now watching your video is making me want to rebook. Thanks for sharing your trip!!
Looked like a wonderful trip!! TFS! 🥰
