- Dr. Adrian R. Marsh is of U.K. Romany-Traveller origins, a researcher in Romani Studies and an expert consultant in Romani and Traveller early years education, working with Gypsy, Roma, and Traveller communities and NGO’s (such as ERIAC, the RomArchive, and the Edirne Romanlar Foundation) in the UK, Sweden, Turkey, Egypt, Azerbaijan, and across Central, Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.
His lectures serve as an introduction to Romani history, ethnicity and identity. Divided into two parts, the lectures provide the essential facts about Romani people and are engaging for both Romani and Traveller viewers, who wish to know more about their communities’ histories, as well as for non-Roma who are interested in accessing the results of scholarly research and historical study, which remain excluded from most school curricula.

As far as I studied romani history years ago... (After I made my genealogical tree)... It seems that the diaspora begun after Tepraïm battle in 1715 Bec north west india gypsies / romanies lost. Winners gave them the choice : yu packed yur stuff and move out of the whole region yu used to manage or... Yu become slaves for us. Most of romani tribes chose to migrate and lose their means (they loaded their "vargos" / chariots and begun their long trip through the world diaspora never ended) . Some stood in north west india.
Those people were skillfull and divetsified community. Strongly organised... Worthy... And wellcomed in many countries for all their knowledges and crafts. Arts too...
In fact in europe, except in roumania where they became slaves during 4 centaries, they succeeded to live "almost normaly" until 19th century. Their bad conditions of life begun with industrialisation process which made them loose their means of life. Very few were prepared to integrate modern societies. Settling in houses for example... Going to school... Working in factories etc.
They had to survive and got bad reputation becose of new ways of surviving.
For mine (Jenisch switz before 1668 then Alsacian for 2 centuries and a half before my great gd ma settled in Metz (lorrain close to german boarder) where I was born) ... I studied their whole history since 1525. I registered lot of infos... Jobs... Statistics on their ways of living... And I printed a little book on these ancestors. Gave one in "center of family history" in Alsace. Contacted last 2 bros who still weared the same name as my great gd ma. In order they could take infos on their own ancestors in my researches. One lived in a flat in Muhlouse the other still (a nomad in a van) close to the other.
All , this what evybody make for Gypsy nacion , its forget . Whay? Wher its justice....

Stop projecting your religious theories on a ethnicity of people when christians themselves didn't even recognize them as jews as stated in first part.
theres allot of details pointing that way like language connection, romanes have allot of words&connections from biblical hebrew which is the old testament and also aramaic, but also koine greek which is the language new testament written. also there are persian words. il add some examples i have found:
romanes Devel=God in hebrew Deuel=known of God or invocation to God Numbers 1:14 and 7:42 and 7:47 and 10:20 it is exactly the same word as in Roma-Calo
romanes foreigner people or nation is gadje and in hebrew its goi
romanes Gelem means walk and in hebrew Jelek means walk
romanes Guiyabo means Chorus in hebrew Juiyeda means Chorus
romanes Mistos means good and in hebrew Mishte means party
romanes Mulo means dead and in hebrew Mut means dead
Najipen means destruction or devastation in hebrew Neji means Lamentation, crying also Naja means regret, cry

@@ferencfarkas2729 i agree... No relation between those 2 minorities. Except they both knew in old times a diaspora phenomen and segregation process. They didn't integrate modern societies in the same way becose of a wroten culture for jews and an oral culture for gypsies. Most of romanies just ignore their story. NOW... Recentlyy it begun to change. And with handy most of them are consulting yt sites of their own cultural national community. Lot of researches were done in order to give them lost infos on their ancestors. By "aryan" searchers or gypsy one...
Linguistic approach has to be taken very carefully. Lot of bullshits is available on YT. Yur right Frank.
