So cool seeing you use the 14mm. I've had the Sigma Art 14mm 1.8 in my kit for over a year now and the images always give a unique feeling only captured with a lens like this!
Street photo in hotel is great, the one on the floor (3:55). Love composition, lines, and colors. As hotelier I appreciate it even more hehe. Others are great as well. Keep it up Evan!
Love those shots of the staircases, and the internal hotel shots! Great work. Grear lens, and seems reasonably priced, compared to what the branded versions would costs!
Is it better than my Nikon 10.5mm APS-C fisheye? I've been looking to upgrade since it's the only lens I own and people keep complaining that their wedding photos are only in fisheye and I don't know what to do
Thanks man! Haha dad life makes things complicated. I feel like the only time I really get out is to film. I’ll let you know when me and Alec get out next
I bought one for Astro and it has been great, unmatched for one take (long exposure) shots even. Now I find myself pulling it out at the track when I'm doing motorsports...just to add some more creative (different) shots for the day. Only 4 or 5 images (compared to 2-3K) so it it is still more of a niche lens.
How much of the success of these photos comes from not the lens but the Leica? What video camera were you following it around with? What lense was on it? Great photos!!!
Unbelievable amount of great images and edits here. However, the perspective in most of the images looked surprising, were the images cropped? Well square ones for sure, but rest?
Check f4 some of the Sigma lens get soft at f4 fit some reason. There was a video I was watching showing this issue with the Sigma 135mm F1.8 vs the Sony 135mm.
It’s hard to say exactly because it’s 2 different cameras. But I would say the same if not better, but the only way to truly know would be have them both on the same body. I’ve made photos at the Marriott with both lenses and I preferred the 14 prime images
İ test it for video, but too much distortion in the corners. So I went to Sigma 20mm 1.4 wich I really like. But for photography the 14mm is a special lense, it's really good.
Awesome tests, Evan. Great lense Absolutely agree with the notion of plateauing in regards to some camera technology. I think that Sigma and Tamron have been two companies that have always been on the edge of innovating some of the stuff that we've already seen many times before I think it's because they don't have super advanced technology like ai eye-tracking and focusing or 8K raw video that they have to put in cameras in order to make a good product instead they dump all of their XP into specing out their lenses. 😂😂
Agreed! It was refreshing to use something for photography that really felt new and innovative. Especially when the photos and performance backed it up
Kept waiting for you to comment/compare it to the Nikon 14-24mm f/2.8 AF-S on your desk Evan. Astrophotography would be the obvious use case. No reason for landscape shooters to lug this beast around. And softness at f/1.4? Of course. That's why I rarely shot wide open for commercial work. Just. Too. Risky.
#Canon you aren't offering anything like this. Time to open up your RF system or I like everyone else are moving to a competitor who allows us to use an amazing lens like this natively!
Thanks for watching!

As always shoutout to Alec (instagram.com/aleccoutinho/?hl=en) for helping with this video and appearing in some of the photos.
Aye dude, just wanted to let you know my favorite shot was the one you were sitting on the dock towards the end. Awesome shot man
Holy cow, these photos are just... chef's kiss! Love it!
Thank you so much!

Definitely! It can really change a location and make places you’ve been to a lot feel different

100% agree, it would be in the 2500$ and up range for sure. Thanks for watching!
@@RanftEvan thanks for sharing your POV on this. Very insightful, as always :)

Haha wait fisheye wedding photos are not in high demand these days?!
1. Sigma art is 🔥
2. That 3rd image in the tunnel downtown is 🔥
3. Tryna link w/ y’all boys to shoot
4. Bravo on this video too
Thanks man! Haha dad life makes things complicated. I feel like the only time I really get out is to film. I’ll let you know when me and Alec get out next
@@RanftEvan trust me, I know about Dad life 😆 hit me, I'll slide! We're the ATL home team here on the tube!
Very good video and interesting point that the industry reached a plateu the last decade. Liked and suscribed.
Sick photos dude! Sigma really kill it with their primes.
I have that lens on my SL2-S for astro. It is really, really nice. Great images, I loved the hotel shots. Thanks for sharing!
How's the Koma on this lens?
@@JonasBecker essentially non existent, best ultra wide angle lens for astro available, by an absolute mile.

Tappin in for my guy 💯
Love the wide angle gives such a cool look! 📸👏
You created some amazing images with that thing. Looks CHONKY

Awesome colors. 🎉🎉🎉
the photos are amazing, what did you film the videos with?
Beautiful shots
Do you need an adapter for the Leica?
If you’re switching systems why not stay with the L-Mount alliance with a Panasonic S5 or other Lumix full frame?
Unbelievable amount of great images and edits here. However, the perspective in most of the images looked surprising, were the images cropped? Well square ones for sure, but rest?
Buying a new lens is the best feeling 😎 3:15 is banger 🔥
Dang, I really need a full frame camera soon. I still have an smaller crop on my a6300.
Check f4 some of the Sigma lens get soft at f4 fit some reason. There was a video I was watching showing this issue with the Sigma 135mm F1.8 vs the Sony 135mm.
Atlanta Hotel Ellipse is my fav
I have the sigma 14mm f1.8, do you think it’s worth the upgrade ?
Evan, these are fantastic. Now i am wishing I had a camera that takes this glass. It is to bad Sigma has given up on MFT.
Turn off exposure preview for SL when you in lowlight or using flash, helps it AF way better!
Aye thanks! Going to try that
Great video , Thank you so much.
How is 14 vs 14-24 Nikkor compares sharpness wise ?

What about Sony 20mm 1.8 ??
Does the lens allow for ND filters? When I’m shooting landscape, I often use ND filters to adjust for conditions.
I looked it up the other day and it looks like nisi has made a mount for it. It’s pricey but at least the options in there
You can put ND gel/filters on backend of the lens or in front of camera sensor.
Those parking lot photos kind of look sci-fi like a cyberpunk movie.
Awesome tests, Evan. Great lense
Absolutely agree with the notion of plateauing in regards to some camera technology.

Why not mention the GM 14mm by Sony ?

I’m a sigma fan but the size of the lens kept me from buying it and got the sony GM instead.
I know what to save up for now...
Picture a 3:15 is my favorite
Thanks
Sony 14mm 1.8 Gm is way more impressive in this lens category, it’s half the size and weight and difference between 1.8 and 1.4 is quite small
Weird, the city looks a little creepy like there should be more people but what's going on there...
woooah woooow
Immediately clicked
You’re the truth, thanks for being here!
Yooo

Sorry it’s a good lens butbthats about it
Not my system but this glass looks sooo good!
