I am from Bulgaria and i don't know if these were Bulgaria exclusive, probably not, but i remember being in a library and finding a mini series of winx books. Each little book was about each winx ship. It was stories that weren't in the show but weren't against the cannon either and the first one was about Bloom and Sky and i remember they found two halfs of broken heart and put them together or something like this.
Idk if it was like that in other countries but here in greece the magazines always came with a gift! Stuff like keychains, bracelets, makeup, notebooks, wallets, glasses? Bikinis?? I had soo much winx stuff growing up
Idk if this was Netherlands only but I remember having a whole card game based on winx. I still have it somewhere but idk where but with what I know now i’d say it was literally “Dungeons and dragons Winx Club edition”. I remember there where those dices with symbols and lots of sides and also like a special glitter card that was like a hypnosis spell. I never actually played it as I got those cards and dice on a flea market and I don’t remember there being any instuctions on how to play😶 I also remember there was a supermarket action where you could get exclusive books and then it was like “Stella’s fashion advice” or “Magical gardening tips from Flora”. Every winx girl had this kind of “tip” book. I was only able to collect Bloom and Flora’s book though but a big site from my country still sells them.

Wow, you're so lucky to have had so many fond memories of the merch. I remember wanting Winx toys so bad as a kid, but they didn't seem to be selling them in my area. I did have a season one coloring book, but I coveted the doll advertisements on the back. I never came across them in real life, or any other of the merch in this video. It's fascinating to learn about.
I played a lot with winx flash games during the 2000's ! They were a dressup game that I liked a lot, it's been while since I didn't find it. I also remembered that on the winx website during the season 2-3 era where you could choose your favourite character among the winx AND the specialist! I know it because I choose Timmy (i might be the only one in the world to do it 😂) The characters had a description of their lives, this is how I knew that Aisha/Layla was not there at the beginning. (And this is also how we learn that Riven was abandoned by his mother and that was why he hated women and didn't trust anyone) They were also a dedicated website to the winx on live show in Netherlands or flemish Belgium. Or Italy since I remember they were using italian songs. This is also on internet that I discoverd enchantix for the first time ! I downloaded the tecna picture 😂

Thank you once again for awakening this worm feeling of nostalgic memories coming back to me. Hallowinx and all of region-exclusive merchandise reminded me of my elementary school time. Back in the day, I used to watch different toy commercial for planty diverse franchises in as many different languages as possible. Winx wasn't avoided, ofc xD So I discovered lots of different doll lines and hallowinx screeamed MH vibe. Can't wait for the next part, maybe you can talk about some other country-exclusive merch, here in Serbia we mostly had conditory products such as flips, bubble gums, chocolate eggs, lolipops etc. and sticker album named winx fashion show (vinks modna revija ). P.S. I remember some of the turkish commercials for winx products by heart xD My favorite was that bebek kalem one for enchantix 3D pen.
I tend to separete the 2 eras of Winx, the first one is when it aired on Cartoon Network-seasons 1 to 3 and the Nick Era In the CN era we didn't get many things when it came to merch, sure I have all the Winx Magazines, but not many other things. In The Nick era, it was a extreme push to license things about the Winx here in Brazil, so we have a lot of stuff, from coloring books to clothes. In the Nick era, I was already in my late teens, and they stopped publishing the Winx Club magazine, but the dolls showed up more.
I comepletey forgot about attack to magix until now! I know I played that game quite a bit, but I never beat it. Can't remember how far I got. I also remember a game where Flora was flying and you had to fly past obstacles like Knut and the blue troll? But I don't remember much else about it. Thank you for bringing up these memories and I am excited for part 3!
I remembered an additional little winx music trivia I know. The singers from winx power show, Mary Dima, Melissa Marchetto, and Dania Mansi were the singing voices of most of the winx on ice soundtrack, with the addition of Monica Cialona and Fabio Serri on "i songi a modo mio" and "animi nobili" respectfully. I also think Fabio Serri provided background vocals on "richorda che" because I head a male voice in the background vocals of it but there isn't any proof of that. The female aforementioned singers sing the roles of all the winx girls and in the group vocals, while the skaters were lipsynching to the songs. There's a booklet of the CD that has the credits in it apparently but I can't find any scans unfortunately.
Hmmm 🤔🤔🤔 it might be something worth combing through the old Winx Skyrock forums for. If you want any info on the live shows, it's head first into the dumpster I'm afraid... But there are a lot of gems amongst all the infighting: I might take a look!
The scenes at 5:26 are from the Season 6 trailer. The characters in those scenes are prototype designs of the Children Of The Night (vampires in episode 11,12), the werewolves from episode 17 and the tree monsters rising from the ground.
whoops... that's what I get for not watching the later seasons as dedicatedly... 🙈 Thanks for letting me know; I'll cut them out. (They were in someone's Hallowinx montage, and there are vampires and werewolves in the comics too, in the same digital art style rather than typical hand drawn comics style; that's how I made the mistake...😅)
It was so nostalgic to watch your video, thanks to you I felt like I am in my childhood! In my country (Ukraine), we had magazines each month where there were Winx girls (+-15 cm in height) figures in their Believix form (plus there were Flora, Bloom and Stella in ballgowns, and Sky in a suit)))! There also were some magazines where you could get a different jewelry and buy a whole jewelry box separately for them)
Surprised you didn't talk about the winx club pc game. It was made in 2006 i think and was based on the first season of the 4kids dub. It skipped a few filler episodes but i did enjoy playing the game. It's fun to play when you're bored. I mean it's not a high tech game and the graphics are alright but it's so fun! (Atleast for me)❤

In my country(Albania) there were sold books dedicated to each Winx and their hobby like:bloom and magic,stella and fashion,layla and sports and so on.I tried to google them in my language and english but there weren't any results.But there books in turkish with the exact title and artwork used just with different backround style.They were sold for only 2$ and didn't have any original title presented as happens with most of the translated books.If you want to look them for yourself the books in turkish had a word "kesfet" and the winx names on the cover.I suggest you also write book(in turkish) just to make the results more clear.

I am a Dryad which means I have the same zodiac as Flora and while some of the aspects that correspond to it are accurate to me, I would say I am more like the Mermaid zodiac which I believe is Stella's.

Clearly, Monster High has something to do with its creation in 2011. For the webisodes, they were only mentioned in those pages of early toys catalogues destined to directors of Italian toys shops and, as you can see, the pictures of the dolls were still prototypes and not the final product. A HalloWinx Spring doll line was even announced for 2012 in this kind of catalogue but was never released. So I guess the webseries was maybe the initial idea then Rainbow decided to turn it as an adventure in 3 comics for the magazine. 8:59 Okay, I wasn't never interested by collecting all the Winx Club books by La Bibliothèque Rose because they are just novelizations of the episodes (actually, I only have the 6 first ones and the novelizations of Winx on Ice and the 2 movies) but the differences you're mentioning make me want to buy them and read them. I'm glad you enjoyed! About Hallowinx, the 'feel' of those three comics is really off compared to the ones before and after them which are in the typical hand-drawn comics style. In some panels, they look especially like they are digitally created or at least coloured. The backdrops to me look like backdrops for animation, especially in the werewolf one... (I don't really know how to explain, maybe someone who knows about these things can help out???😅) All of that makes me think that maybe they did get into the early stages of animation (but maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree?). It's such a weird thing to me that they would promote a whole doll-line, especially one that is so off-brand, only in the magazines??? But I guess we were still relatively more paper-based back then... One of the other differences in BR that I've heard of is that Musa is referred to as an orphan, but the thing is sometimes people who've lost only one parent can be called that too, so I don't know and I can't check if there was really such a big divergence like this...😅 And also omg Tecna brother lore??? That would actually have been cool if it had been canon, since sibling relationships in the original arc weren't super explored. It's kind of strange - now that I think about it - that none of the 12 main characters in Winx had a brother...🤔🤔🤔
@@talkytilki I think I understand what you mean: the backgrounds of the forest in the first comic have something reminds what some background artist made for PopPixie. It would be interesting to ask to the comic artist (don't remember his name, gotta check out) if he worked with some pre-existing material or if Tridimensional/Rainbow just let the artists did something different from regular comics. For the webisodes, on the picture of prototype dolls you shown on the video there's a little sneak peak of what could have been the initial scenario: the Winx fairies disguise themselves in order to go to a party organized by the Trix and stole a magic spell that could destroys Alfea school. But as I said, there is always a big divide between what Rainbow announces and what they do.

@@talkytilki Yes, the quality is very very bad but it says : "Thanks to a new disguise, the Winx manage to access the Trix party (historical antagonists of the Winx) to find the secret formula that could damage the planet of Alfea!" The fact that the text says "PLANET of Alfea" makes me think that maybe the "web episodes of 3 minutes" is just a hooking text made by someone working at Witty Toys/Giochi Preziosi without knowing the Winx Club series when he/she send the informations. Besides, in 2010-2011, Rainbow studio must have been busy with the animation of the TV Specials and Season 5-6 with Nickelodeon. So I imagine making animation for the HalloWinx dolls would be too much extra work (they did a redrawn of HalloWinx episode for the doll commercial which is enough).
I still use the Winx Zodiacs until this day for my OCs. It's still on the website of my language. I was exactly born at the day when chimera begins. Same with my brother but with Griffin. And my best friend's birthday is on the same day as Stella's so she is a mermaid~

Files with unknown transformations of Roxy were pulled out of the game "Bloom's Birthday" by my subscriber. All I knew about Winx Club was that Italian animation tried their best at a Magical Girl series and they did try to Animefy it up. To varying degrees but it was still a nice series when I originally watched it 20 years ago. Could have done better in their world building.
In Turkey Winx is HUGE until 2015! 2015! And in 2016 they made TWO competitions first ones prize was a fly to ITALY and the other one was having all Dreamix dolls just amazing

I'm a Phoenix! I didn't know about any of these things other than the Hallowinx because I like the outfits and I'm trying to find pngs of them for my winx club wallpaper collage art lol. A little obscure winxology I know is the Italian versions of "songs from season 3" has been officially released a while ago and titled "winx club 3 - enchantix", with high quality audio and separate tracks rather than every 3 songs together in one track. I hope they release season 2 songs next and the entire season 1 album for streaming. Especially "crazy for you" Italian version and "a sky without moon or stars". They used the melody of the latter for a song in the winx power show musical and titled it "the song of musa/il canto di musa", but change the lyrics. Btw I hope you make a video about the musical shows and the country exclusive ones next! So I can go on a journey hunting the CDs of all of them lol

To correct you "la bibliothèque rose" , "pink library" equally releases books for boys specially french series like titeuf, tintin, lucky luke, and oui oui.. even garfield and marvel, so it was never targeted for girls only, it just happened to be pink.. and yes as a lebanese fan who discovered the franchise in french, i have all of them .
Some more "gender-neutral" franchises have been published by La Bibliothèque Rose, but mostly " boys' " franchises are covered by La Bibliothèque Verte, and the gendered marketing for the series has only increased in recent years. If you look at currently active collections, it is especially strong.

Bloom is in born 10 December 1988. That was the year of the Dragon. And she is the fairy of the dragon flame. Very interesting the Winx zodiacs.

The scenes at 5:26 are from the Season 6 trailer. The characters in those scenes are prototype designs of the Children Of The Night (vampires in episode 11,12), the werewolves from episode 17 and the tree monsters rising from the ground.

(They were in someone's Hallowinx montage, and there are vampires and werewolves in the comics too, in the same digital art style rather than typical hand drawn comics style; that's how I made the mistake...😅)

In my country (Ukraine), we had magazines each month where there were Winx girls (+-15 cm in height) figures in their Believix form (plus there were Flora, Bloom and Stella in ballgowns, and Sky in a suit)))! There also were some magazines where you could get a different jewelry and buy a whole jewelry box separately for them)

Surprised you didn't talk about the winx club pc game. It was made in 2006 i think and was based on the first season of the 4kids dub. It skipped a few filler episodes but i did enjoy playing the game. It's fun to play when you're bored. I mean it's not a high tech game and the graphics are alright but it's so fun! (Atleast for me)❤

In my country(Albania) there were sold books dedicated to each Winx and their hobby like:bloom and magic,stella and fashion,layla and sports and so on.I tried to google them in my language and english but there weren't any results.But there books in turkish with the exact title and artwork used just with different backround style.They were sold for only 2$ and didn't have any original title presented as happens with most of the translated books.If you want to look them for yourself the books in turkish had a word "kesfet" and the winx names on the cover.I suggest you also write book(in turkish) just to make the results more clear.
Oh cool I found them! What was their content exactly? Was it in-universe content, or were they like real-life informational books? They seem to be by Gabriella Santini who has done a lot of Winx books actually.

For the webisodes, they were only mentioned in those pages of early toys catalogues destined to directors of Italian toys shops and, as you can see, the pictures of the dolls were still prototypes and not the final product. A HalloWinx Spring doll line was even announced for 2012 in this kind of catalogue but was never released. So I guess the webseries was maybe the initial idea then Rainbow decided to turn it as an adventure in 3 comics for the magazine.

About Hallowinx, the 'feel' of those three comics is really off compared to the ones before and after them which are in the typical hand-drawn comics style. In some panels, they look especially like they are digitally created or at least coloured. The backdrops to me look like backdrops for animation, especially in the werewolf one... (I don't really know how to explain, maybe someone who knows about these things can help out???😅) All of that makes me think that maybe they did get into the early stages of animation (but maybe I'm barking up the wrong tree?). It's such a weird thing to me that they would promote a whole doll-line, especially one that is so off-brand, only in the magazines??? But I guess we were still relatively more paper-based back then...
One of the other differences in BR that I've heard of is that Musa is referred to as an orphan, but the thing is sometimes people who've lost only one parent can be called that too, so I don't know and I can't check if there was really such a big divergence like this...😅
And also omg Tecna brother lore??? That would actually have been cool if it had been canon, since sibling relationships in the original arc weren't super explored. It's kind of strange - now that I think about it - that none of the 12 main characters in Winx had a brother...🤔🤔🤔
@@talkytilki I think I understand what you mean: the backgrounds of the forest in the first comic have something reminds what some background artist made for PopPixie. It would be interesting to ask to the comic artist (don't remember his name, gotta check out) if he worked with some pre-existing material or if Tridimensional/Rainbow just let the artists did something different from regular comics.
For the webisodes, on the picture of prototype dolls you shown on the video there's a little sneak peak of what could have been the initial scenario: the Winx fairies disguise themselves in order to go to a party organized by the Trix and stole a magic spell that could destroys Alfea school. But as I said, there is always a big divide between what Rainbow announces and what they do.

The fact that the text says "PLANET of Alfea" makes me think that maybe the "web episodes of 3 minutes" is just a hooking text made by someone working at Witty Toys/Giochi Preziosi without knowing the Winx Club series when he/she send the informations.
Besides, in 2010-2011, Rainbow studio must have been busy with the animation of the TV Specials and Season 5-6 with Nickelodeon. So I imagine making animation for the HalloWinx dolls would be too much extra work (they did a redrawn of HalloWinx episode for the doll commercial which is enough).
I still use the Winx Zodiacs until this day for my OCs. It's still on the website of my language. I was exactly born at the day when chimera begins. Same with my brother but with Griffin. And my best friend's birthday is on the same day as Stella's so she is a mermaid~

Thanks for the tip about the games... I've found playthroughs for Stella's Date and Bloom's Birthday and 2 others in that series, but I've not been able to find a playthrough of Roxy's game. Is that where the exclusive designs were? Also, can I ask how they were delivered? Were they exclusive to the Russian Winx website?

These Winx games were developed by a Russian company for the Russian PC market.
Files with unknown transformations of Roxy were pulled out of the game "Bloom's Birthday" by my subscriber. I found these pictures, but they seemed different to me... probably false memories or the Mandella effect.

All I knew about Winx Club was that Italian animation tried their best at a Magical Girl series and they did try to Animefy it up.
To varying degrees but it was still a nice series when I originally watched it 20 years ago.
Could have done better in their world building.

A little obscure winxology I know is the Italian versions of "songs from season 3" has been officially released a while ago and titled "winx club 3 - enchantix", with high quality audio and separate tracks rather than every 3 songs together in one track. I hope they release season 2 songs next and the entire season 1 album for streaming. Especially "crazy for you" Italian version and "a sky without moon or stars". They used the melody of the latter for a song in the winx power show musical and titled it "the song of musa/il canto di musa", but change the lyrics.
Btw I hope you make a video about the musical shows and the country exclusive ones next! So I can go on a journey hunting the CDs of all of them lol

To correct you "la bibliothèque rose" , "pink library" equally releases books for boys specially french series like titeuf, tintin, lucky luke, and oui oui.. even garfield and marvel, so it was never targeted for girls only, it just happened to be pink.. and yes as a lebanese fan who discovered the franchise in french, i have all of them .
Some more "gender-neutral" franchises have been published by La Bibliothèque Rose, but mostly " boys' " franchises are covered by La Bibliothèque Verte, and the gendered marketing for the series has only increased in recent years. If you look at currently active collections, it is especially strong.
