Disposable cameras are fun although it does seem wasteful and you don't ever get to see your pictures. If it's an important event that you want to remember, I recommend using a real camera. But, I don't care if I forget today. - Erin Hannon “The Office”
I’ve been really wanting to get a film point and shoot and I was mostly considering disposables. Then I saw this and I got that bubbly/creative feeling and know that it’s what I’ve been looking for. I’m graduating college in a few months and life has been treating me well lately; I love the idea of having the opportunity to capture these memories with something like this! Crossing my fingers!
After listening to your recent podcast I realized that in all of my family images I am not in them because I am taking them. I am always behind the camera. that, mixed with your insights on Kobe... I desperately want to have images that my children and their children can look upon and see who we (myself and my wife) were. This camera would basically live in my pocket and document our life as a whole vs individual.
I have a mju2 and it’s by far one of my favorite cameras I own.... small enough where I can just throw it into my pocket and carry it everywhere. The lens is surprisingly nice and sharp for a point and shoot. I love these Olympus p&s
My wife is a 90's kid and mom of 3yr old identical twin girls and DESPERATELY needs to revive her appreciation for shooting film! Would love to win it! Keep up the incredible work!
I just picked one of these up for $2.99 at a thrift store. The zoom is hilarious, but for the price I’ll just ignore the zoom toggle and shoot it at 38mm.
I am a graphic designer trying to get into photography, but as a relatively broke 22 year old, working has been taking up most of my time. I would LOVE to have this camera when I go away on vacation next month!
the first analog camera I got 5 years ago (which I still adore and use now) is a Nikon F4. for those of you who know it - it's a literal brick. A lovely one, but nevertheless a brick. It weighs a ton and makes your neck and hand go numb after walking around with it for too long. To be very honest, I don't like to complain too much about it, because this camera has done a massive service to me in the past years, however I have recently been thinking about getting a point-and-shoot to just have a camera on hand everywhere I go. So, if you do end up reading this comment Benj - keep the great work up, keep spreading the most wholesome dad-vibes and keep inspiring young or old photographers, pros or amateurs. you rock man! greetings from icy scotland x
I've been pondering the idea of giving film a try. The thought of incorrectly exposing and possibly ruining a photo or even a whole roll has prevented me from shooting film. I've watched plenty of your videos and you have definitely swayed me towards trying film.
I’ve always struggled with taking photos in my personal time because it makes it feel like work. I started shooting film for personal stuff and it’s a game changer but my camera is so clunky and heavy it’s hard to bring when I want to pack light so this little guy would be ideal!
I love your style and following you on insta has been such a breath of fresh air for my feed. I take more photos because of your “document life” comments.
Benj ~ the most knowledgeable and kindest professional with all the go-to informative videos - and surprise nuggets of information to make photography come to life for all of us to benefit...always waiting for the next video to come out! You are awesome, Benj! I will be a better photographer because of you!
I’ve wanted to start doing film photography for SO LONG! I’ve had two film cameras come into my life and they have both been broken and I would just love to have one that’s actually working and that I can care for as my true first film camera!
Im in my senior hear of college and have also just wanted to make some film camera memories and bring it with me for some point and shoots! So this camera would be well loved!
SO excited to see this giveaway. Been shooting digital for 12 years, but did a semester of film in college (LOVED IT, but stopped practicing after I finished the course). I've been working on personal artistic/wellness growth this last year and think that I'd have a lot of fun messing around with this little guy. AKA *raises hand enthusiastically* "pick me! pick me! P.S., been following you since 2010. There's a lot I love about your work and visual eye, but I think what I appreciate the most about you is that you are constantly upping your game. I don't know you, obviously, but I've made up that you regularly self-analyze the balance between tried-and-true work and growth. Every shoot is better because of it. I so admire that quality and imagine that you really protect yourself from burnout and tiring of photography because of it. Thanks for sharing what you do!!
Geneva Noël hey hey! You won! I tried to tag you in the latest video, but it wouldn’t let me. Send me a message with your contact details and I’ll send it your way!
I have had the XA and the Stylus Infinity. The XA had a good 28 mm lens and the Stylus a 35mm. I bought them new and had both for years. I finally sold them as I prefer a 50mm as a walk around lens but have always stayed away from the Oly point and shoot zooms. Maybe I should look at one of these to pick up. I still have an Olympus OM2n that I have had since new and it is a great camera. My favorite film camera.
I love your photos. You were one of the main people who got me really interested into film photography. I’ve been looking for an everyday carry camera. This one looks great!
Great video!! I found a Olympus Stylus 100 Wide that has the 28 mm - 100mm and I got it for 98 cents - yes 98 cents at a thrift store. Best wishes Duane
Dude what a great video - I've been trying to decide between this one and the original stylus epic (non-zoom). I was leaning for the prime but now I'm starting to question it, keep up the great work!
I picked up the 120 at a thrift store. I also "inherited" the 140 that was my late parents. I've taken these on trips and they fared well. My only beef is the camera's ISO cannot be manually set thanks to the DX sensors.
I just stumbled upon your channel and to be honest outside of this challenge, i have been watching your videos to upgrade my content. Thank you for bringing a little more creativity to my life!
My parents both had Olympus point and shoots when I was kid! My dad was the guy that had like three cameras and a video camera with him at all times. Super annoying as kid, but now...I'm that unashamedly that guy!
Yes Benj!! Thank you for making these videos I watch every single one when you put them out! Can’t wait for what you have in store here on your TH-cam channel! Have been looking into what film camera I have wanted to start film with and this would be stellllaarrr!
The lack of exposure compensation does suck on these but I’m pretty sure you can half-press the shutter button and that will lock the exposure settings (AEL). It’s a way to meter for the shadows in a back lit situation.
I’ve been shooting digital cameras for the past two years and I’m looking at getting a film camera now because my fiancée and I are getting married in three months! It would be so awesome to have a film camera to capture photos on our honeymoon with in Cabo San Lucas
Been watching videos to learn more about film since i have very little knowledge about it but the more i learn the more i see how expensive is to have film photography as a hobby lol even developing and scanning the rolls at home will have a price cost lol
Aye cool, I just tried to pull my Stylus Zoom out of retirement this morning only to realize it don’t work anymore. Would be awesome to win one. Anyway, thanks for creating these videos ✌🏼
Hello I recently bought the Olympus stylus infinity zoom and the flash won’t work in any of the modes. I bought new batteries and film and when I try to use the flash an orange appears flicking and a green one but it won’t let me take the picture. I can take some without the flash. Does this mean my flash doesn’t work or how can I fix it ?
Hi ! I just bought a mju zoom 105 . And from my lens I can see a small black dot , I don’t know what that is ? Maybe it’s dust ? Will it effect my photos ? My final pictures ? I’m a total beginner and I don’t know how it will develop !
People talk about the sharpness advantages of primes so I have been trying to stick with them instead of zooms when shopping for film camera lenses. My question is do you think that a modern EF mount zoom lens (not an L series) is sharper than an old prime from the 80s or so? I just recently purchased an eos 650 and I’m looking for lenses right now, would you have any recommendations aside from Canon’s 50mm?
I’ve been looking for a fun point and shoot 35mm to adventure around with with my kids, would love to have a camera like this and leave my canon EOS V1 at home sometimes!
I’d be so stoked to win this camera 🤘🏻 Having a point and shoot like this would make it easy for my wife to capture photos of our little girl without being intimidated by all the settings on my more serious film bodies!
Yo Benj! My little brother shares the same first name as you. He’s a professional photographer who does digital and film. I’ve been talking to him about getting into film photography, it would be one of the few things that we have in common. I’d be stoked to win the Olympus camera and start my film journey with him 🤞🏽
@JD Hoppes ... His name is Benj. And you should tell him that your parents named your baby brother after him. Because, your family loves his photography, and that you’d want to win the camera in hopes to be as good as he is someday. Haha
Hey Benj! Stumbled across this video (albeit dated) after checking out a quick review of the Olympus MJU V (Metal). Just got mine from eBay and stuck some Portra 400 in it. Are these full auto cameras? I want to use them without having to worry about settings. Do you have a dedicated video on this topic?
@@benjhaisch so I literally just load the film, point and shoot?! The camera will do all the thinking for me? As you can imagine I don’t want to lay an egg at my wedding tomorrow and come to the lab to a bunch of 💩. 😂

Olympus cameras are great
Had an MJU 1 that I loved
It recently passed away after a year of use and slight abuse
May it rest in pieces
Why are photographers so hesitant to get into a relationship?
They’re interested in developing one, but can’t stop focusing on all the negatives.
Did I win the giveaway??

I just scored one at the thrift store for $3!

First, that intro was so high class. Also, this now is making me work so hard not to go to ebay...
Started shooting film after following you on Instagram and finding your TH-cam channel. Thank you for all your hard work.
Cheers
I actually just bought a Stylus Zoom 115, excited to shoot it after seeing this video!
Hugely inspired to get back into film now, especially with such an easy affordable setup. Thanks for the post.
Yeah Tim! Do it! Haha
Watched your Kodak Etkachrome video and instantly hit subscribe. Love your work man

Oh, I’ve been looking for this camera locally and couldn’t find a decent one.
I want that little Olympus to be my daily camera! Lets rock'n roll! PD: congratulations for the ten years married!
So neat! Enjoyed the example shots
I'm not a photographer, but I can picture this camera and I together...
Ha. Haha.
Love watching you, you make learning very easy. I love photography and I am practicing with your help. Thank you. 💖
If I win this camera I’ll give away one of my film camera and keep the film love going!.!.!.!.
I’ll also teach my wife to shoot on it!
The lack of exposure compensation does suck on these but I’m pretty sure you can half-press the shutter button and that will lock the exposure settings (AEL). It’s a way to meter for the shadows in a back lit situation.
It’ll lock the focus though too, so it makes it more difficult for sure
Is the focus distance shorter on the 2.8 for selfies? Or would you say to stick with the 28mm if that's important to me? Great video, Benj!

Zack French yess babe that would be so awesome😍🥳
Got one for 4$! Had the original film still in there containers, working on getting through the film, Can't wait for the results!

Would love to just frame a shot and just shoot. No fancy schmancy settings. Just get the shot
My contax g2 gave out on me 2 years ago so this would be the perfect replacement 🤞🤞🤞🤞 Good luck to all!!!
Noooooo. Buy another one or even a G1!
Benj Haisch hahaha as a new mom, i definitely need a “mom camera” 😁
Haha! Well also, I’d suggest getting a camera with a closer minimum focusing distance too like the Olympus Stylus 35/3.5 :)

Here in Brazil this camera is a little expensive! So I'm saving money to get one to me. Great review!
Loving all of this stuff bro! Been LONGING to shoot more film for a long time now, finally inspired to action! Haha. Keep the videos comin!
Camron Stricklin you thanks, dude!

My father’s Olympus compact was awesome! But, photographers make terrible dads .... because they’re never in the picture!
I’ve been looking for a fun point and shoot 35mm to adventure around with with my kids, would love to have a camera like this and leave my canon EOS V1 at home sometimes!
Hi!
What type of film is best for this camera?
Yea but how many mega pickles does it have?
Hey man, there’s any difference in the image of the mju iii 115 to the mju iii 150? or is it just the zoom?
Ah I'd love to win this! I bought one online, but it ended up not opening the shutter. Also love seeing your perspective of Hawaii. That's my state!
I’d be so stoked to win this camera 🤘🏻 Having a point and shoot like this would make it easy for my wife to capture photos of our little girl without being intimidated by all the settings on my more serious film bodies!
I have an Olympus Stylus which I love, but that zoom would be fun. I'd love to find one.
Where do you go or what site do you use to get your pictures developed? What is the best option for getting prints when your done taking pictures?
How do you travel with film? I’ve heard that if you take film the security scans ruins the filmz
Great little camera, but do you ever get the circular flares on your frames like the ones I get on mine? Any way to avoid?
I think my wife might leave me if I bring another camera into the house, ha...
can I pay for postage to Northern Ireland if I win, ha ha...

What's the difference between say the zoom 105 and zoom 140?
