- In this video tour, I visit the grave sites of the cast of The Addams Family TV show from the 1960s, and others.
I find actress Carolyn Jones' grave site crypt at the Melrose Abbey Memorial Park in Anaheim, California. Jones played Morticia Addams. At this cemetery, I also discover the grave sites of 1932 Olympic athlete Dallas Bixler and character actor Robert Dudley.
Actor Jackie Coogan, who played Uncle Fester, is buried at Holy Cross Mortuary in Culver City.
Former child actor Ken Weatherwax was cremated and his ashes are interred in a niche at Valhalla Memorial Park, in North Hollywood. Weatherwax played Pugsly Addams.
Actress Blossom MacDonald Rock's grave is located at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale. Rock played Grandmama.
Last, but not least, actor Ted Cassidy, who played Lurch, was cremated and his ashes were reportedly scattered. He doesn't have a final resting place to visit, but he hasn't been forgotten.

I had big crush on Carolyn Jones as a child watching reruns of the Addams Family after school right up threw high school. She looked so good in that black dress! She was very pretty. I find it hard to believe that today, I am older than she was when she passed of cancer. There remains a soft spot in my heart for her.
Hi Sonny, it is surreal when you realize you are older than some of the people you watched on TV, as a kid, and who are now dead. I've thought about that myself, before. Thanks for sharing.
I could say the same thing about myself...
Sonny Dean. Morticia was smoking Hot, I had a crush on her also, as I'm sure many young boys did. R.I.P Caroline Jones.
@@tonycardinal9381 ...she was a real fox all right-!!
...remember who the actress was who played Morticia's mother?
I saw Lurch and Uncle Fester (in full costume) when I was 5 years old. I still remember that day!
Awesome. Thanks for sharing that!
Your very welcome. My dog, growing up, was also from the Lassie bloodline. He had the personality and big white collar, but no white blaze on the nose so he couldn't be used. He was very protective of me.
I love hearing personal stories like this. Thanks for sharing this one too! :-)
Lurch was incredible
I met Ted Cassidy(aka Lurch) when I was 11yrs old. My father was a Shoe Repairman here in Seattle, Wa and worked on several pairs of shoes for Mr. Cassidy. I'll never forget that deep voice of his.
I still love the Addams Family🖤 Morticia is definitely my favourite character, and Carolyn Jones will always stay in my heart 💔🖤
IKR
Natasza Rosowiecka. Morticia is my favorite character also! I wanted to be Morticia for Holloween when I was in my late teens early twenties.
Yes,mine to,always liked Carolyn Jones,morticia
I love the whole family, Lurch and Morticia especially.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Years ago I met LIsa Loring at a Comic Con show. She was selling autographed pictures. There was one of Ted Cassidy spinning her around. She told me when the cast seen him doing that they got scared because they knew of his bad heart and they thought he was going to drop her.
I love hearing personal stories like that. Thanks for sharing it!
I just got into the 60s show and Lurch is definitely my favourite character next to Morticia 😊 it’s awesome that you did this! I wish Coogan’s grave was better kept I mean he did so much for child actors
Good work. Finding, visiting, and remembering the dead is a moral and genealogical imperative. Addams Family is a favorite of mine. Carolyn Jones was very beautiful as Morticia. I liked all of the cast. There was an excellent synergy between them.
I agree and I'm always surprised when some people think it's a bad thing. Thanks for watching and commenting!
Very interesting info on these stars of yesterday, thank you! Carolyn Jones died at the young age of 53 from colon cancer. She fought many years but in the end it took her. I remember she had a role in a soap opera near the end. Her health was declining so the matriarch she played started using a wheelchair so that Carolyn could play her scenes sitting down. She was a beautiful and courageous woman.
Thanks for watching and for sharing this!
Thx.
I remember that too.we were on the road on vacation in 1983 when I read in the USA today paper that she died and Jackie coogan too...so sad...may they rest in peace. Never new ms.Jones wasmarried to Aaron spelling...fascinating story
I understand that Elizabeth Montgomery died from the same thing...
@ Donna Jellerson To be more specific, she played Myrna Clegg on the CBS soap called Capitol. She had died in 1983 and the character was recast with actress Marj Dusay shortly thereafter and played the character until the show's cancellation in 1987.
I wasn’t born until 1986 but I remember watching this version of the Addams family with my mom and I loved it
Caroline Jones was a very BEAUTIFUL lady and talented .Enjoyed this very much
Thanks for sharing!
Sorry it's Carolyn Jones Kimberly not Caroline Jones
It might be interesting for fans to note that "Thing" was played *mostly* by Ted Cassidy. He often used opposite hands (to see if anyone noticed), and this created what would be referred to today as "continuity issues".
In scenes where Ted and Thing had to appear together, Thing was played by assistant director Jack Voglin.
fun tv trivia. thanks for sharing this with us, TM!
When I was young, I had s crush on Carolyn Jones, Barbara Eden, Elizabeth Montgomery, and Tina Louise. It was great being young back then.
' big Lurch had me laughing in TEARS when he would take a visitor's hat at the door...VERY cool and direct !😂👍🏿
I remember his baritone voice.
Ted Cassidy starred in several tv shows and motion pictures during his long career in
Hollywood as a Hollywood legend
Carolyn Jones DEFINED " femme fatale " .....just an amazing lady. Any lady who can portray a character SO completely that she DEFINED that role. Any actress who plays the role afterwards will be compared to her. Think Sean Connery and James Bond.
Morticia was fine😋😋
I loved the Addams Family, but The Munsters were my favorite. Uncle Fester and Cousin It were great, and so was this video. Thanks again for your amazing work!
It's been so long that I can't remember which one I liked best, but they were both pretty goofy and funny. Thanks, as always, for watching and commenting!
I love the Munsters too . I really don't have a between the two . I love Wednesday Addams . So far as the Munsters can you find out when some of them are buried ? This is too much fun lol .
Off The Wallz Odd Ballz Rezabek Melissa
Little Wednesday grew up to be quite the looker!
The original one ? I think she is beautiful
This was awsome loved the addams family i live in the town where the first daren from bewitched is buried i made a vlog there
Hey Steve, lurch was my favorite. I still watch Addams family reruns till this day.🙂
Really appreciated the information on actress Carolyn Jones couldn't believe she was married to Aaron Spelling for 10 years so early on 👌
I know, I was surprised when I learned that too. Thanks for the comment!
I'm so pleased that you found "Doc Dudley's" grave! I came to watch your video and view the final resting places of the beloved Addams Family cast and received an added bonus that I never expected. I looked for Robert Dudley's grave 20 some years ago on a trip to California but never could locate it's exact coordinates. Robert T. Dudley was born in Ohio in 1869 and later attend school in Illinois (my home State) to become a dentist before transitioning to life as an actor. His first film appearance was in 1917 and over his almost 40 year career as an actor he appeared in at least 115 films. His last movie appearance was only 4 years before his demise and was appropriately entitled "As Young as You Feel."
Robert died at the age of 86, two days after his birthday leaving behind a large body of work. Not all people will recognize his name but many will certainly recall his face.
Thanks so much for sharing this video with us.
Hi Timothy, thanks, so much, for sharing this info about Dudley. I especially enjoy finding the graves of people like Dudley, who sometimes get lost of forgotten over time. Did you have a personal connection with him or his family or are you just a fan?
My grandfather met him on two occasions and I never heard the end of it. Once in the late 1930s at a theater in Indianapolis, IN and once again on a train to Chicago in the mid 1940s or early 1950s.
My grandfather passed away 6 years ago at the age of 94 and he would always speak of "Doc Dudley" as if they were old friends. So, 20 odd years ago when we went to California to visit my great uncle in Bel-Air we went looking for "Doc Dudley's" grave at Melrose Abbey but never located it. As I recall there was an unusually large storm that day that prevented us from looking as well as we could have.
That is my or rather, my grandfather's personal connection to "Doc Dudley." Thank you for finding his grave. I had seen photographs of it but never an actual video of it. Now, if I ever make it back out there I will know exactly where to locate it.
Great video! I'm a huge Addams family fan. Talking about Carolyn's marriage with Aaron spelling, they ended that marriage so well, that they both hired the same lawyer for the divorce, and keep a solid friendship through the later years. In fact Aaron invited Carolyn to perform in his shows, she performed in the fantasy island and love boat both shows are spelling productions. In my opinion that is amazing, because we know divorce people most part of the time hate each other but not in this case!
Nice to hear that. That is rare. Thanks for sharing it with us, Carolina!
Great video for graveyard enthusiasts like me!
There seem to be a few of us out there. Thanks!
Very interesting, thanks I loved the Adams Family.
Me too. They were really fun!
...well, if ya LOVED IT so much, then why don't ya MARRY IT?!!!
I love how you ask us what we would do in certain situations and you have a gift of sharing stories and you aren't overly dramatic or disrespectful. Newly subscribed and thanks for going down memory lane.
Thanks for watching and subscribing and for the kind words, Lisa! I appreciate it!
My favourite character is Lurch, he's a mood. It's a shame that he died so young :(
What A Incredible Journey & History Lesson. You Get To See The Real Deal. What A Honor & Privilege You Have Under Taken. Way To Go. You Ought To Be A History Teacher.
Thanks for the kind words, Paul, and thanks for watching!
One of my favorite activities, while I lived in Hollywood, was the cemeteries. I spent hours upon hours walking through all of them during that decade. It has been a long time since then, but it is so nice to see how much some of these parks have changed for the better than when I lived out there.
i know what you mean. you could spend a lifetime exploring them and still not visit everyone. thanks for sharing, james!
4:07, Carolyn Sue Jones. Cara Mia
9:42, John Leslie Coogan. Uncle Fester
12:25, Ken Weatherwax. Pugsley

My fave will always be Morticia, my mom looked a little like her in her younger days, I always had a fondness for Carolyn Jones, she was so beautiful
Yes, she kind of stole the show. Thanks for sharing this!

Love the Addams family, I remember in70swhen I was a kid about 6.I always liked Morticia and Gomese. Thanks for the touring ☺️.
Chas. Addams creator said to Miss Jones that he was his favorite Morticia! That does not surprise me.
Thank you for all you do. Your hobby/work is so well done and your presense is enjoyable! Thank you. Steve
She was the best. Thanks, Diane!
Hello again Steve 🖐🏼. Thanks for sharing the details of the video with US ‼️ have a great weekend ‼️🙋🏿♀️💕💞💕.
Thanks Carole, you too 😊👍
I love that you take the time to give some history on the people that you visit. The stars that may be forgotten and are remembered not only for their talent but also for other facts in their lives. Thank you for sharing your time and expert knowledge to bring their stories to all of us. God bless you and stay safe on your journeys!
Thanks for watching and for the nice comment. Part of the fun for me is getting to know some of these people a little bit better by visiting their graves. Glad you enjoy the commentary too.
me too exactly thats one of my favorite points also . Mr Stewart does a wonderful job 😊
Thank you!
Carolyn Jones was a fantastic actress. The whole Adams Family cast were amazing.
Just discovered this channel and love, love, love it
Thanks, so much, and welcome!!
I admire the fact that you had the time to explore the old Legacy of the Addams Family checked out the grace which they never got forgotten I their music and their show is so funny it still goes on.
Thanks for watching and for the comment!
I saw Carolyn Jones on stage in a traveling production of Neil Simon’s California Suite in the early 1980s. She was a memorable presence, and was underused in her career.
Just come across your videos. Pretty awesome and loved the history of the celebrities.
Thanks, Ward!
Thank you Steve. I am catching up on all your videos. I love your postings. I worked in the funeral industry for 2 years but even before that I had an interest in cemeteries. You are easy to watch and have an amazing voice. Again, thank you!!!
thanks, laura, that's nice to hear. and thanks for going back and watching my older vlogs. really appreciate that!
John Astin and Lisa Loring are still alive. In fact, Lisa was so young during the filming of the Addams Family TV show, she is, even now, just in her mid-50's.
@Ronald Hill Wow that's awesome! I thought he died as well. He also was in Bewitched episode. A Sane Halloween. Season 3. Mega/Super fan of Bewitched and Elizabeth Montgomery and Dick York. (Best "Darrin" PERIOD!).
@Ronald Hill Yes I knew all that you mentioned. Its hard to believe that they didn't get along very well on set but I guess that's why its called acting! Lol! I just love and miss them both so much! Growing up in a household where my childhood wasn't the best I could dream and feel that "Darrin and Samantha" were my parents even for just 30 minutes while the show was on. I too sobbed when both of them died! I remember saying, "Oh my God Samantha died! Even now when I talk to friends about the show all these years later they will say "Mom looks stunning in that episode didn't she? My point is I still feel this way at 55 years old. They were both treasures and gifts to us that WILL NEVER BE REPLACED! GOD BLESS THEIR SWEET SOULS AND MAY THEY CONTINUE TO REST IN PEACE. God bless and be safe!❤❤❤❤
She would have to be older than that. Somebody born during the time of the show would be in their mid 50's.
@queenofmeanest meanie According to Wikipedia as of yesterday he is still living.
@@dvferyance Lisa Loring is age 62 as I post this message the same age as me

I was born the same year both shows aired 1964,my favorite character is Lily and Eddie. He grew up so handsome.I wished he was gay but he isn't.Id love to be Mrs. Eddie Munster.

Awesome video. I always loved the Addams Family

View from the UK. Another fascinating cemetery tour Stevie. What makes your tours so interesting is the facts, anecdotes, family histories attached to the grave you visit. I'm addicted, keep 'em coming.
That was so interesting. Thanks for taking the time. Good thing you are like me and enjoy walking 🙂
My favorite thing to do it so to walk. Originally my TH-cam channel was going to just be about my walks, but I noticed that no one is interested in walking videos on TH-cam :-) So, it's a good thing that I also love cemeteries. At least a few other people are also interested in cemetery videos :-) Thanks for watching and keep on walking!
Great vid! Thanks so much for putting all the effort into these vids! Much Peace! 😊☺😁😜
Thanks, Ernie!

I didn’t realize that Carolyn was so young when she passed
Cancer don't care how young
Brandon Shaw so true. I totally agree. I’ve lost so many people in my life and even I am a survivor. But Carolyn was much younger than I am.

Thank you for this. I was 16 in 1964 when Addams Family first appeared. It remains my all-time favorite TV show. I have the DVD's, which I still watch.
I saw Carolyn Jones in some of her earlier roles and she had blond hair; I don't know if she was a natural blond, but I thought she was prettier as the dark-haired Morticia. Also, the 2 animal trainers in the Weatherwax family also trained Rin Tin Tin. Many thanks for a very interesting video; I loved the Addams family.
Oh yeah, forgot abouut Rin Tin Tin. I used to watch that show too. Thanks for watching and sharing!
I believe she may have been. She guest starred in an episode of dragnet. She was blonde.

It's so strange for me as a German that cemeteries are open to traffic. We just know that from our neighbours in Austria. In Vienna is situated The big and famous Central Cemetery situated in Vienna is also open to traffic. - But I like the American cemeteries so much because in my eyes they are much more beautiful than the old ones in Europe.
