It's finally began the major expansion of the immigration hall at sangster international airport in Montego Bay Jamaica, this will bring the airport in line to accommodate the growing number of passengers using the airport to visit there second home, the island Jamaica . it's been long overdue as the impression giving to visitors to the island was less than desirable with the inconveniences suffered while waiting to use airport services, these in conveniences will become a thing of the past upon completion of this much larger and better equipped immigration hall, let's appreciate this one, it's great to see a good plan being executed.

I am a Jamaican with an American passport and have to say how pleased I was when I was there in March. It took me 30 minutes from deplaning to exiting customs. The new gates made things go much faster than before. I love it.

Hello Stewy. I'm so impressed with the airport improvements for sure. Came in recently and boy was i surprised how quickly i went from the plane to being picked up....immigration was a breeze, no more long lines and all that stuff. Really interesting and impressed with it all. Thanks for showcasing this great improvements. Love you for showing the world what Jamaica is capable of...so happy 😊 😃

Came through there back in April, the reconfiguration of the arrival/departure roadway has made a huge impact on traffic flow.

Love what’s happening currently in Mobay and Jamaica in general. I am looking forward to the completion of both the airport expansion and the bypass road. Long overdue, traffic has become a nightmare to be honest. More flights bring more people which in turn brings more challenges. Plans must include anticipated growth and not just what’s currently happening. Planning ahead is key to staying steps ahead. Keep up the good work Stewy!

Thanks for the update. I have been longing for a vlogger to do an update on the building not just the changes to the roadway. So I will watch your video several times to improve its views. I hope they improve the outside arrivals area, it looks so out of keeping with the rest of the building.

Yeah man! Great video! You are exactly right! I always pay for Club Mobay when I fly back to the States. I noticed this last time it was no faster than regular security. Then again it's the slow time / rainy season, which you and I both completely understand. I mentioned in a previous video how fast it was from landing to baggage. It was exceptional. Slow / Rainy season rules apply of course. Either way, it was far superior to what it was in March. What really threw me off is how they move Southwest down to the domestic departures area. 😅. Either way the improvements they've done is astonishing in a short amount of time. The improvements are sort of bittersweet for us. My wife is having a knee replacement Tuesday June 18th. Her retirement papers are submitted because she can no longer be a full-time police officer. By the time these improvements are all done we might not be using the airport that much anymore. Don't get me wrong I'm super gratified by that. What's really nice is that bypass will be completed, so going to Bogue village will be easy compared to what it is now. Sorry for the long note. I just tell people that watch this channel really appreciate what you're doing here. The improvements to the airport and that are coming to the island are milestones in the history of Jamaica tourism.

Did the replacement surgery is unfortunate however that means she must retire from police work. And we can move there sooner. The end result for us is Paradise.

Finally, someone gave an update that actually showcased that the airport is being expanded, renovated, and the necessary technology being implemented to allow for a modern and appropriately sized airport.
Good work, because there's another youtuber out there just driving through the airport saying how bad it looks....Like HELLO do you not see the construction happening or the images all over the airport. Have you not done the research to track the work that's going on....😂😂😂

That would be good but you also have to remember that the majority of people who travel to Jamaica are tourist on vacation.
When people are on vacation....they want to get to their hotels quickly...
So hotel in central JA might not be beneficial in that way.

They have to be mindful of how often they mow. Mowing bring birds looking for worms to eat. Excess birds can cause bird strikes than can damage the plane.

@johnrucumbine8363 Every airport doesn't have the same specie of birds and grass plus how they decide to manage the wild life around the airport varies. MBJ airport is literally situated in wetlands as well as in the vicinity of the Mobay Marine Park. Not only do they want to protect the environment, but they also want to ensure there isn't an influx of birds when the grass is cut. This has resulted in MBJ not having many birds strike when planes land or take off. Safety first.
