IJF should carefully listen to this interview... On one hand they want to have big throw ippon only judo, but on the other hand they are restricting it by having such a stupid rule for head diving... Same happened in the semis with Heydarov. Sometimes i really don't understand what they are thinking by setting such contradicting rules + always changing it every 4 years. And one more thing that I thought about for the pas few days watching this championship: For the last 4 years judo rules were focused on traditional lapel and sleeve throws. You had very restrictive grip fighting rules that clearly benefited japanese judoka. As a result, you had japanese players winning almost all gold medals at their home olympics. Is this just a coincidence or is there just a bit of corruption with rule setting at IJF? Anyway i hope in the future we have some consistency with rule setting that last not just one or two years, but can stand for a whole generation of fighters. Also I would like some actual explanation based on research when changing the rule set. Not just changing it because some influential person at IJF thinks judo should be like.
What a amazing guy
Good point Manuel! You are great, IJF is ruining our Judo. Don’t change, for anyone! You will shine!

How do KODOKAN rules differ from IJF rules?
I hope IJF watch this. They are a shame, braindead federation… 🤡
