  • Social purpose. Responsible capitalism. Sustainable growth. The ubiquity of these memes indicates that enterprises are elevating societal well-being to a strategic level - and the best ones have it at their core. Paul Polman of Unilever, one of the world's most admired CEOs, is a global thought leader in the areas of sustainability and conscious capitalism. Paul shared how and why the Unilever Sustainable Living Plan was born, why he interviews entry-level job candidates, and why he stopped issuing earnings guidance and quarterly profit reports when he took the reins at Unilever. His insights into the nature of leadership and the role of business in addressing some of the world's greatest challenges will inspire you to think about the connections between values and actions in your own company and your own career. In this video, Paul also discusses short-term financial pressure and societal impact, and share his perspective on what it means to be a leader in a world of clashes and divisions.

A theory of change #livingintact to bring holistic (mental, physical and financial) sustainability in ones daily individual life is Activism! It is ‘this’ kind of thinking, Polman’s paradigm shift in business, inspires me!

ironically china managed to create prosperity without transparency...but with some level of trust from its citizens (however misplaced as some might perceive)
