    I liked it. It had a nice cast and everyone got time to shine. I appreciated the use of sign language after Mikarri was introduced. They also took mental health seriously.

      Yo, Marvel wasted Salma Hayek's time. I hated Thena have superhero Alzheimer. And although the speedster Makkiri was dope to watch, why would the Celestials create a deaf Eternal? Whatever!
      Kit Harrington was the only person in the film who was interesting. I know the Eternals are ancient and aloof towards humans. I'm fine with that.
      I didn't believe any of the tender moments. The movie had no heart. It was hollow. If you're going to give me hollow then I need plenty of spectacular action scenes to take up the space. In summary, the film was a bore.

    As a comic book collector since 1979, I love it! I took my knowledge of comic books out of the MCU when I saw the first Ironman. People who say it was too long and not enough action are just ignorant to the fact that they are laying down a base story. I'm excited because we are about to have a wild ride in the MCU!

    When they announced this movie I was super excited to see it. I was ready to learn about new heroes. I'm glad they're starting to experiment and switch up the formula. You can only use the same formula for so long before people start to complain. Also, it's 9 new characters that most people don't know about so of course it's going to be long and filled with a bunch of dialouge (explanations). The more human aspect was cool to watch, but you know since they're heroes most people just wanted constant explosions, fighting, and jokes. It looked amazing and the post credit scenes were great. I'm willing to bet the next one will be great. We'll see.

    I LOVED ETERNALS!!!!! I saw it 4 times so far. I liked it more than half of the movies made before it. The Eternals, it was hinted that each had more powers than the ones they mostly displayed. Phastos didn't just have something to do with tech, his powers were beyond that like he can create constructs like Green Lantern. Sprite didn't just do illusions, she can become invisible, also teleport. Makari didn't just ran fast. She can sense the weakest vibrations. She is my favorite Eternal and had powers I would like to have. Also, the UNI-MIND with TIAMUT(The Celestial) happened as part of the emergence automatically as part of the process so they can survive the emergence along with the Celestial. It's how they've done it before but didn't have those memories present with them. Sersi had control because she became the PRIME-ETERNAL chosen by Ajak after her death. The PRIME-ETERNAL has a connection with the Celestial Aerishum via the little GOLD SPHERE which is why she had access not just to him for communication, but to his energy. Which is why she powered up and turned the Deviant into a tree. Also with the Celestial emerging, which like Ajak before, Sersi is the only one that will remember her whole life and not have her memories taken/reloaded. She's the prime-eternal now, the leader, in control, the focal point,... Phastos invention with the bracelets made it so that anyone could of been the focal point of a uni-mind of their own making which was going to be Druig. Kingo shot energy spheres/bullets like a gun because it was faster like the anime YU YU HAKUSHO. But he can take more time to charge up and throw a big energy sphere like in Dragon Ball. I thought that was dope!! I can't believe anime watchers didn't pick up on that.

    • @leratokekana5983
      @leratokekana5983 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey, I didn't enjoy the movie that much but I can see why others enjoyed it, it's cool. As an anime lover I couldn't let the anime comment chill 😂. I don't agree with you saying that guy shooting energy balls is something anime peeps should pick up cause they shoot those balls in dragon ball. That's like saying when Gilgamesh flies then we should say "Hey they do that in dragon ball too". The energy spheres to me didn't look like a big deal, didn't feel powerful but you know that's of course just me.

    Eternals is a moving, smart and great piece of film. It deserves more than one viewing. Unlike the other Marvel movies, this film presents imageries that are memorable which is the purpose of filmmaking. It does not amplify the egos of the superheroes but cuts to the core of each character. It subverts the stereotypes of Superhero movies. What a relief to have something different.

    • @jchinckley
      @jchinckley 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's not really any different. It's just setting up for future movies. It in no way subverts anything except what the Eternals could have and should have been. The movie was just meh... worth watching, but only once.

    Movie was great and well written as a origin film. I wanted more but that's what the solo movies are for. If I could have any power though..... transmutation all day. I feel so much can be done with it.

    This may have already been mentioned but did anyone else notice that Thena's memory problem sounds like a slang description- mad weary. As in, "all her memories got Thena mad weary yo". 🤦🏾‍♀️ I know it's ridiculous but I so want that to be something real that the writers did 😄

    I enjoyed the movie. It felt a little more serious, more dark than the usual MCU format. Ikarus was my favorite character. I hated that they wasted Crow as a throw away foil, Sersie was a little bland as well. I'd want Ikarus or Sersie powers.

    28:24 that's what excited me the most at the end I'm anticipated on seeing all of that in the future movies..
    And when Tiamut was emerging under sersi it looked like gold, it had me thinking, was that a reference to how humans been digging up gold. So we been chipping flakes off Tiamuts armor🤔

    I think Makkari is an iteration of the Roman god Mercury. Which would explain the sticky fingers . Mercury is the god of merchants, trade and thieves.

    There’s SO much to love about this film, after having seen it a second time - and without the 3D, which I think distracted me the first time. One thing I want to offer a few thoughts on. People are critical of the Deviant/Kro storyline and I was too initially but after my second viewing I’ve changed my mind a bit.
    If anyone’s ever seen “Apocalypto” (spoilers ahead), you remember how the whole movie long, the tribe from the metropolis was the antagonist….UNTIL they noticed the Spaniard ships and realized everybody is in much deeper shit. The scope got hugely widened in just ONE shot. Which is evidence of Mel’s genius, but I digress. My point is this, during the third act we see both Kro and Ikaris behaving in ways which are contradictory to stopping the Emergence, and both are apprehended by Eternals. It’s argued that Thena wasted time by taking out Kro but Makkari was doing the same exact thing whooping Ikaris’ ass. Think about it, this literal god is in the process of coming out of the ocean, absolutely terrifying, the end of the world as everyone knows it but they are still settling scores. Both Kro and Ikaris DID need to be apprehended because they were threats to what the team was trying to do, but still, to me it just shows how deep and how long the conflicts stretched out. And this is ALL because of Arishem, by the way. It’s his deceit, the vast and careless abuse of his power, it’s the path he set the Eternals and Deviants on which brought everyone to this situation on the beach, and the world nearly ended because of it. If it would, that would just be part of the plan and he couldn’t have cared less.
    Careful about the gods you trust in, careful which paths you walk down.

    I watched it on Disney+ this weekend and i guess i watched a different movie than the commenters. This movie had poor character development, the fight scenes (pew, pew) played out more like a re-remake of the director's cut of Justice League (more DC than MCU) and the super deviant's death felt anti-climatic. It was an ambitious attempt but just didn't have the MCU DNA.
    Your review of eternals was more captivating than the movie itself. Definitely not 4 saxophones worthy (IMO) but i enjoyed the summary. 😁

    I saw it yesterday with my mom at the Cinemark with the D-Box seating(Seats move around), and it was alot better than I expected. At first, I was like "This might be horrible" but in the end, I was like "It was actually good, I want to watch it again someday!". The opening scene gave me chills, the Celestials and Deviants are cool and scary looking. My favorite Eternals are: Ikaris, Sprite, Sersi, Gilgamesh, Phastos, Druig, Kingo-Actually, all of them are my favorites! Like how they sprinkled the flashbacks all across the film letting us know more about the Eternals. The post credits scenes, we're definetly getting a sequel with that kind of ending. Soundtrack was very cool and it fit into some scenes. I dunno what the critics are thinking but, it was actually better than Black Widow. Definetly watching this again when it comes on Disney+! I'd definetly want the powers of Ikaris, Gilgamesh, Thena, Druig, Sprite, Ajak, Makari, and Phastos.
