This is the Form of the Cambodian Royal Classical Ballet. All Khmer people have the blood of Art and the Talent of Dance. They had performed in the Year 1945 of the Province Siem Reap - Angkor Wat.

Riep , nowadays my siblings still practices these Apsara also since I was 8 years old even my siblings dance as well and understand clearly these parole of the song it’s in Khmers . Accepted the truth that Khmer Empire was a massive country and massive territories that’s the starting point since histories how many times Khmer Empire were attacked and raided by few neighboring countries including Thai and how many times Khmer Empire has heavily influenced their Art culture, martial Art , classical dance as these Apsara , clothing toward other neighboring nations . Thanks Thai for your admiration toward Khmer Ancient histories until nowadays adopted into their own believes.

That was after the Khmer Rouge because most teachers have either gotten killed or have relocated abroad due to the aftermath of the genocide. Even if what you are saying is true, then why the dances of Thai are so different? Even the body and especially the hand gestures have meanings in which Thais don’t. Don’t forget, during the Thais invasion of Cambodia, Thais took all the court dancers back to Thailand and force them to teach Thais how to dance, something all Thai nationalists should mention.

I'm khmer. But this seems to look like thai dancers in my opinion. Khmer style has slower and more elegant movements. Especially when it comes to the flexibility of hand and wrist movements. Every movement from the khmer dancers seems like you're looking at still photo frame by frame. I honestly enjoy my khmer style more.. With that being said..

WTF this is too good. I have seen this a few times before. But tonight i have watched it in a drunken state (Glenfiddich 12 years aged) . And I can see the elegance of every movement. It was all part of the choreography by design. Back then instruments was not at it's greatest. So you had to maximise dance for greatest effect of pleasure or enjoyment. Modern dancers from Cambodia, USA, Canada, France, Australia, New Zealand, cannot match this. It's lost but I believe it can be found or duplicated. It's not too late. I will pay $100 USD to watch Khmer redo this dance. Only if it can match performance above this. I feel it's almost impossible. Because every dancer will be trying their hardest. In this video. No one is trying. So natural of every movements. It's obvious why Siam sacked Angkor. Jealousy and envy. Attack and plunder. Steal the dancers. I watch again and again. Dancers not even trying.
