80/94 as its called is always construction in northwest indiana. Thanks for the video.
This is my home Interstate! I've driven most of it from Billings MT to Wisconsin Dells WI.
I 94 is actually a main east/west route. They ran out of numbers divisible by 10 because there is no I 50 or I 60. The reason for this is because those two would run through many states that US 50 and US 60 currently run through possibly causing driver confusion. This issue did not happen with major north/south routes because the main north/south US highways end with 1 such as US 1 and US 101 whereas the main north/south interstates end in 5 such as I 5 and I 95. Had all the 0 numbers been utilized I 94 would be I 80. I guess this could have been avoided if the main east/west interstate routes ended with a 2 vs 0. I 2 way to the south and subsequently going up I 12, I 22 and so on. Just an interesting quirk in the system. Wisely the interstate system was designed opposite directions of the US system where the low numbers start south and west opposite the US system where the low numbers start north and east.
Great video. Thanks. I think you should include what the highway turns into at the end of it's run.
4:35 Wrong! It's pronounced Wok-uh-shaw. 5:02 Wrong! It's pronounced Oh Claire (like you're surprised to see Claire).
