Love the Alfasud! It is however a later sud, about 80-81 year model with the small bootlid and the plastic fantastic bumpers. 1975 would be with chrome bumpers and the 1200 cc engine only.

Congratulations, Thomas. The only worry I have is finding time and money to do the refurbish. My OCD self, will want to overlook at everything. If you don't like the color, yeah just change it. If you're not a "keep it stock" kind of guy, don't even bother. Do what you like. Regrets kills our brain cells everytime we think about it 😢
Good luck on the restoration. I guess the previous owners are well to do people and the vehicles are always park in the shade. That makes the difference on the condition.

My humble opinion on the 155 is that there's priceless value in recoating the 195A back to it's former glory. You've turned "ALFAHOLIC" overnight bruh 🥳🥳!! CONGRATS bud! 🍻🍻🍻 Oh yea... I pick "Sonic the hedgehog (Knuckles)" over "The Wedge" 😜 😛

Nevermind if you can't let us hear the sound of the Alfasud...when I was a little kid, my neighbour had one. I wondered why he liked to rev it hard....now I know! Till today, the distinctive sound of the car still rings in my ears!

damn...i pretty much hv got similar preferences in autos wt u..scary!the bm,the mini,the porsche,n now alfas...no ain't got THE alfa i looking for (145 TS 2.0)...woah...just realised how super low the mileage for the age of the 155....such a thrill looking fwd for the gradual resto work to fruit a satisfying end result-soon!noooo...stick to original color Thomas!Alfa needs to be red,coz its a poor man's Ferrari....or black,not green!walauwey...the Alfa Sud reg is same as one of my rides...geng!The alfa sud needs a resto-mod work to bring into the modern age practicality without losing its character of originality...u gonna get cassettes?prob is,the player may hv issues playing to begin with...believe me,i own 5 cassette players(relatively new hifi n walkmans) but they stopped working...the mechanism usually give way!the rollers/pinchers may damage the tapes,the head may have rusted...so,u may end up getting ut tapes tanggled within the player,even if it rolls-n yeah,the motor-notorious!many av shops may not be familiar with this old tech!so?add a bluetooth connection n spotify jerrr....Bottega is awesome choice!

My first AR was a 155 1.8. Same year. Bought it blind, as I was informed it was a 156. The first model I adored. So for some years I was stuck with it. I later bought my first 156, 3 156 further now, how the heck can someone buy this ugly models? The Sud was a disaster from the start, the 155 , is ok, but misses the line of a Mermaid.
Poeh, why being so negative?! The AlfaSud is a very iconic, important and influential concept. Volkwagen admits that their first Golf wouldn''t probably not have been as good and succesful if there had been no AlfaSud in 1972, 2 years before the Golf was launched. As a kind of hommage, VW has put an Alfasud into their Museum collection at Autostadt. The Sud is a unique car that handles and drives very well, it's very spacious, practical, and economical. It has an amazingly good and beautiful design with loads of style and character. It has a rare kind of wholesomeness to it. Forget about the rust issues, those have nothing to do with the concept of the car itself but only with production circumstances. The 155 is by no means an ugly car, it has a very elegant and typical design with good proportions and clean, straight lines. But I agree with you on the timeless beauty of the Alfa 156.

Yeah it sounds amazing. Unfortunately I had the battery disconnected because there’s a ticking noise. Didn’t wanna drain the battery.
