Day6 are THAT kband. Honestly their discography has NO bad songs! They're absolutely amazing performers too (I want to see them live so bad at least once)/you guys should react to Dance Dance, I wait, I'm seriously, and How Can I say! Another Kband to check out is N.Flying! They're also absolutely amazing and friends with Day6! Their MV's are always hilarious as well. I'd recommend Hot Potato, Oh Really, The Real or Rooftop by them!

Im glad and sad you reacted to the live version, cause the lyrics would explain the music so much to you guys. This song talks about being alone/empty and that someone/something is missing, so the music doesn't reach its peek to serve that purpose of "incomplete".

LMAOOOOO I need somebody is my fav Day6 song and I found the ideas you guys thought of were great but I honestly wouldn't change anything about the song because if they do then the whole mood of the song would change and this isn't supposed to be a super powerful or overly emotional song. They could have easily added what you guys were asking for (cause they are amazing singers) but the mood that they were going for was More melancholy but not super emotionally explosive.

I think the changes you guys suggested were great, and would make a song sound good, however, paired with the lyrics wouldn’t exactly fit. I Need Somebody is about being alone, reaching out for a hand that’s not there, feeling isolated even when there are people surrounding you. The guitar doesn’t go crazy because in this song, they don’t need it to. At the end of the arrangement, the guitar has it’s spotlight and it just hits harder because the guitar was never pushing it’s melody before. Regarding the harmony/higher vocal line for the chorus, that sounds amazing and I would love to hear it covered! Although, I think the reason they have generally no harmonies during the chorus is because they’re trying to represent the lyrics:
“Why am I alone?
Where is
Is there anyone to answer me?
Is anyone there?”
“Why am I alone?
Among all the people surrounding me
Why am I alone?
I’m all alone, I need somebody
I need somebody right now.”
The lone vocal is alone, calling out for anyone to save them, to be with them, but ultimately, they’re still isolated even when around people. I think musically, yes, the harmony would sound great, but in terms of storytelling and lyrics, DAY6 did a fantastic job encompassing the lyrics and really bringing out the feeling of being alone in this song (I always listen to this song in my pitch-black room and it really just hits different when all you hear is YoungK and Sungjin’s raspy vocals for the chorus). You should definitely check out other DAY6 songs, especially with lyrics on.

They do have a rearranged concert version of the song. The fancams of them singing this during their world tour as well where the fans also sing a portion of the chorus is so gutwrenching but heartwarming at the same time. I do hope you react to some more of Day6 in the future.

I went to DAY6 concert and literally experienced I Need Somebody live! And yes, we were all sing along, belting that WHY AM I ALONE out of desperation LOL good times!
