    He's respectful and understands consequences, which means his mother and father did a great job teaching him responsibility. No excuses or animosity was had. Yes for those that don't know. Its one of those things. I've done with other admins while working in schools. It's teaching the kids. Sometimes doing the right thing is not doing the right thing. Other words. Although he was right and we all understand. He needs to know there's a time and place. We don't want other kids thinking they can come and set up shop. So what I've done a few times. Unofficial ABC aka in school suspension. Then we call parents and let them know what's going on. 9/10 that kids respect a you even more now and becomes turn around student if they were trouble maker and if they were a good kid. Now they are even better. Because this time you gave them a chance. But also taught them a lesson. As this young man showed. Humble as he was. He accepted his punishment. Probably got paid unofficially by staff. Just because he was actually not doing anything bad. I was listening and thinking. Call Mr so and so. Ch 2 building 4 boys restroom. Now. Let them know what happen and talk with young man. Called parents. Hey he got in school suspension here's check or cash 200. He was caught cutting hair. We understand which is why we not writing him up. But he still has to pay consequences. I have adult kids now reminding me of the time I did this for them. Changed there lives. Damn about to get in my feeling again. This was really a deja vu moment. The admid at that school needs to be thanked and praised. They could have totally want to the book and expelled this kid. But they didn't. ✊🏿✊🏿✊🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿

      @@Quis85 Yes but they would have been really depraved to expel this young lad, so no, I don't think they "could have" expelled him. USA schools sound completely ridiculous. If it had been a British school this incident wouldn't even be seen as trouble making. Just probably told not to bring scissors in anymore. Where's the respect from staff in US schools? It always confuses me that there isn't any respect shown towards the kids, no wonder American schools are horrible places

    • @DoctorMagoo111
      @DoctorMagoo111 2 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Hard disagree on praising the administration - the lesson could have been learned with a warning (e.g. "Normally we'd have to suspend this behavior for XYZ. Because it's just a case of wrong time/wrong place, we'll leave it at a warning.")
      Just because the needlessly punitive action was taken well by the student does not make the action correct. And suspensions absolutely can negatively impact students academically, which is a risk not worth taking over this student's behavior.

      I think they should add this as a magnet, in schools to be honest, as it is, a necessary necessity inside of society.

Isn’t proper self-grooming a necessary attribute in being a well rounded “successful” individual? And it doesn’t have to be a whole class in itself but maybe just a subject in art. Just a suggestion… Brilliant kids like these should have their creativity and aspirations fostered everyday. But hey I’m just a 24 year old Gen Z’er. What do I know 🤷🏽‍♀️ Kudos to this kid. Our school actually encouraged it and allowed us to do it only during lunch time in the back of the lunchroom. Once done, our principal, assistant principal and Deans would be our judge. (All are Caucasian) Our rewards from them was snacks. By the way, we all grew up to be licensed hairstylists. I retired a few years ago.

      I mean if there’s a line I’m guessing several people were skipping class , you only get 5 minutes to get from class to class. I doubt he can do multiple people in 3 minutes since the kids need time to walk to class too. It might not be wrong if you do it during your lunch/free time but then kids rather get a haircut than to eat isn’t healthy. Kids aren’t allowed to eat in class.

    Which school policy was violated? The administration needs to remove that suspension from that young man's record. They could have giving him in-school suspension or detention instead of 1 day out. Smh.
