Ya know, I'm in a masonic youth group. We wear robes, have a ritual, & bi-monthly meetings (but we meet to plan stuff to do for charities & community service). Plus I listen to this music. People think I'm in a cult. Also, I started a cult in kindergarten. Even though I left the school in 1st grade, it still exists. I saw some kids sacrificing food to the 'rainbow god Bow' (my creation) in a bonfire last year. So I guess they're not wrong.

Then we would take food (stolen from the cafeteria), mash it up with rocks, and throw it in the air so it dropped into a creek or puddles as a sacrifice. Even though I left the school, kids in my neighborhood still mash up + throw food, and bugs (and on one terrifying occasion burnt rats) into the air after chanting the colors of the rainbow. It's great. My teachers from that school have truly been punished (which was my goal).

This is such an inspiring song, I have worried far too much my whole life that I have rarely sat back and asked myself why do I worry? I learned I needed to step back and let life happen, which is hard for someone like me who plans 5 or more years ahead. I heard this song for the first time while working with a friend and I have to say no matter how many miserable things have happened to me I play this song to remind me not to ponder over them and try to live worry free.

The first and only time I had went to a church nothing interesting happened. They explained Jesus’ betrayal in like a way for 1st graders. Like I was in 5th grade and there were 1st graders, but it was so boring.
Probably not the intended meaning of the song, but thinking about the lyrics really helps me get through panic attacks so this song is very important to me! Good work boys.
Actually I can say it is definitely targeted towards anxiety holders. The black signifies anxiety, and the white happiness. Black Cody is the anxiety in your mind, and white Cody is you overcoming it and being happy and not worrying. Not my song but happy to know it's helping someone in a way more than just sounding nice :)

Haha! Well, this was a few years ago. They were opening for bvb at some small venue in Kentucky. But apparently, Kentucky has a curfew, so when the show was over, the venue owners kicked everyone out. Cody wasn't ready to call it a night, so a group of us hung out in the parking lot for a while. He saw that I had bought their CD, so he sang for me. It was fun!
When I first heard this song, it immediately took me to church and it has been my morning song ever since. Seeing this video for the first time just confirmed that I need to hear this every single day. I just saw you guys perform recently and it was the most amazing performance! When Cody CROWD WALKED... I just knew I was in the presence of something magical! Thank you for your talent and love guys!!! 💫

Not sounding racist but goto a black church. There not a myth. Legit found a heap were all they do is sing and dance and the vibe is so sweet. Ps: I'm atheist haha.
Yeah I read a book one time and it said some stuff about a black church and I think it would actually be kinda cool, still I wouldn't go because I'm actually atheist.
My interpretation: the people in white are of the "why worry?" mindset, whereas the people in black are still stuck in a cycle of worry. The ones in white follow the Cody in the white suit, who promotes a stress free lifestyle. The Cody in black promotes worry and anxiety among his followers who wear black. The rap battle is signifying the stress free side winning over the anxious/worrisome side. Then at the end both sides are dancing and having fun together, signifying that the followers of anxious Cody are starting to believe in a more stress free lifestyle and letting themselves have more fun, but not completely, hence why they're still wearing the black, because it takes a lot of work to overcome anxiety, and one rap battle between you and your anxious side can't fix everything.

While that makes a lot of sense, when you listen to the black group's lines it sounds less like "live life anxiously" and more like preaching an aggressive version of the white group's message. To me it's more like the black's are saying "life is stressful, deal with it" and the white's are asking "im anxious, but why? life isn't that bad"
Honestly, I'm a person who has anxiety and this song sounds like what someone would tell me while I'm anxious. It does help and it describes how I feel
Compare this song to several others by set it off, such as: wolf in sheep's clothing, killer in the mirror, i'll sleep when i'm dead, ect. Seems pretty cheerful in comparison. Is this really the same band?
Punkish bands have a very unique way of telling you to stand up. Some songs are like Why Worry, and some tell you to just punch the fuckups in the face and get your shit together. Just because this one is blatantly positive, doesn't mean the others aren't either - they're just a bit more punchy in their meaning. Wolf in Sheep's Clothing is about crimes being met proper justice: "Mark my words, one day you will pay, karma's gonna come collect your debt." Killer in the Mirror is about standing up even when you're alone: "Feel the fear, snd swallow back the tears, let weakness disappear" I'll Sleep When I'm Dead is, yeah, pretty much 100% a vent song there. Partners in Crime are somewhat of a love story actually, even if very Bonnie'n'Clyde one; Hypnotized is about getting away from a negative influence; from a manipulative love is I'd Rather Drown. Horrible Kids shows why you shouldn't bully others; Freak Show about enduring pain and gaining a resistance to it; Dream Catcher about believing you can and will reach your dream. Sure, not all of Set It Off songs are wholesome. Some of them are venty, to attract the attention of those poor, broken souls that need to listen to them the most. But most of the songs carry a certain kind of energy, that tells you to get up, to grit your teeth, and to carry on forward. Not all hope is lost yet, you just need a bit of a push. And if you have that push... well... why worry?
Yes, they do make some pretty cheerful songs. Listen to Upside Down by Set it Off. I, personally, prefer some of their other more punk and rock songs but it's nice to take a break and listen to their softer, more upbeat songs. 😊
It's sad that I missed this band. I never heard of them until a young guy at work told me about "Sheep in wolf's clothing" a week ago. And I try to stay up to date on music. They're awesome.
Set It Off has been one of my favorite bands for 3 years. I'm worried that they are about to get too big to meet all of their fans. One of the reasons I like them is for their small friendly community where everyone understands each other. I saw them on Warped Tour 2013 and there wasn't many people at their set. Cody jumped off the stage and immediately went over to the merch tent and met every single one of us. I saw them again this year on their headliner tour. Even though they were headlining (it was a small venue The Emerson Theater in Indianapolis) they still stayed around after the show and met everyone there as well. The most recent time I saw them was at The Egyptian Room (Indianapolis) with BVB and FIR. There were way too many people there for them to meet everyone, even though they stayed after their set, and came back out after BVB's set, the line to meet them was way too long. Many others including me who wanted to meet them again couldn't. I guess what I'm saying is: There is a part of me that wants them to get big and be one of the most successful bands out there and a part of me wants them to stay small. Either way Set It Off is family.
When I saw them in Spokane at the beginning of the Month, I hung out with one of them outside after the show for a little while. They're still doing great, Cody was in the crowd during the show, and they're just chatting with fans still....Especially with the bands that they're choosing to associate themselves with (like FIR and BVB) who also spend a lot of their time interacting with their fans, I don't think you have much to worry about
I saw them Saturday and the lead singer is the only person to say there that he is meeting everyone . but I didn't get to meet him even though I wanted to . I only didn't meet him cause the line was slow af and kinda long (sorta) and the next act was about to play
Anybody who wants to meet them still can it seems. Maybe my venue had less people than normal, but the lead guitar and Singer as well as my personal favorite, the bassist, were all outside saying "We went on second! We made you sing why a lot!" And hugging anybody or taking pictures with them as well as selling their CDs. The only way they can get too big is if they choose to, and these great guys still choose to give some love to the fans

Actually I can say it is definitely targeted towards anxiety holders. The black signifies anxiety, and the white happiness. Black Cody is the anxiety in your mind, and white Cody is you overcoming it and being happy and not worrying. Haha! Well, this was a few years ago. They were opening for bvb at some small venue in Kentucky. But apparently, Kentucky has a curfew, so when the show was over, the venue owners kicked everyone out. Cody wasn't ready to call it a night, so a group of us hung out in the parking lot for a while. He saw that I had bought their CD, so he sang for me. It was fun!

My interpretation: the people in white are of the "why worry?" mindset, whereas the people in black are still stuck in a cycle of worry. The ones in white follow the Cody in the white suit, who promotes a stress free lifestyle. The Cody in black promotes worry and anxiety among his followers who wear black. The rap battle is signifying the stress free side winning over the anxious/worrisome side. Then at the end both sides are dancing and having fun together, signifying that the followers of anxious Cody are starting to believe in a more stress free lifestyle and letting themselves have more fun, but not completely, hence why they're still wearing the black, because it takes a lot of work to overcome anxiety, and one rap battle between you and your anxious side can't fix everything.

Punkish bands have a very unique way of telling you to stand up. Some songs are like Why Worry, and some tell you to just punch the fuckups in the face and get your shit together. Just because this one is blatantly positive, doesn't mean the others aren't either - they're just a bit more punchy in their meaning.
Wolf in Sheep's Clothing is about crimes being met proper justice: "Mark my words, one day you will pay, karma's gonna come collect your debt."
Killer in the Mirror is about standing up even when you're alone: "Feel the fear, snd swallow back the tears, let weakness disappear"
I'll Sleep When I'm Dead is, yeah, pretty much 100% a vent song there.
Partners in Crime are somewhat of a love story actually, even if very Bonnie'n'Clyde one; Hypnotized is about getting away from a negative influence; from a manipulative love is I'd Rather Drown. Horrible Kids shows why you shouldn't bully others; Freak Show about enduring pain and gaining a resistance to it; Dream Catcher about believing you can and will reach your dream.
Sure, not all of Set It Off songs are wholesome. Some of them are venty, to attract the attention of those poor, broken souls that need to listen to them the most. But most of the songs carry a certain kind of energy, that tells you to get up, to grit your teeth, and to carry on forward. Not all hope is lost yet, you just need a bit of a push. And if you have that push... well... why worry?

Yes, they do make some pretty cheerful songs. Listen to Upside Down by Set it Off. I, personally, prefer some of their other more punk and rock songs but it's nice to take a break and listen to their softer, more upbeat songs. 😊

Set It Off has been one of my favorite bands for 3 years. I'm worried that they are about to get too big to meet all of their fans. One of the reasons I like them is for their small friendly community where everyone understands each other. I saw them on Warped Tour 2013 and there wasn't many people at their set. Cody jumped off the stage and immediately went over to the merch tent and met every single one of us. I saw them again this year on their headliner tour. Even though they were headlining (it was a small venue The Emerson Theater in Indianapolis) they still stayed around after the show and met everyone there as well. The most recent time I saw them was at The Egyptian Room (Indianapolis) with BVB and FIR. There were way too many people there for them to meet everyone, even though they stayed after their set, and came back out after BVB's set, the line to meet them was way too long. Many others including me who wanted to meet them again couldn't. I guess what I'm saying is: There is a part of me that wants them to get big and be one of the most successful bands out there and a part of me wants them to stay small. Either way Set It Off is family.
When I saw them in Spokane at the beginning of the Month, I hung out with one of them outside after the show for a little while. They're still doing great, Cody was in the crowd during the show, and they're just chatting with fans still....Especially with the bands that they're choosing to associate themselves with (like FIR and BVB) who also spend a lot of their time interacting with their fans, I don't think you have much to worry about
I saw them Saturday and the lead singer is the only person to say there that he is meeting everyone . but I didn't get to meet him even though I wanted to . I only didn't meet him cause the line was slow af and kinda long (sorta) and the next act was about to play
Anybody who wants to meet them still can it seems. Maybe my venue had less people than normal, but the lead guitar and Singer as well as my personal favorite, the bassist, were all outside saying "We went on second! We made you sing why a lot!" And hugging anybody or taking pictures with them as well as selling their CDs. The only way they can get too big is if they choose to, and these great guys still choose to give some love to the fans
