I can say whole heartedly that you not only broke the stereotype but smashed it out the water if you ever decide to make this into a series I'd be more than happy to read it and some other people too.

Man you took the concept of Glowing up to another level , heck i would say it was even better than the original one just beacuse of the slice of life Genre of this story and a lot of Realistic moments but ofc the OP glow up always hits hard , the ending was debatable but as for a shot it was a sharp 9/10 in my opinion, I cut the number because of less romance and the Unexplainable buff of Izuku to suddenly grow 190+ cm in height but that's Anime logic for ya ( even though he trained 2 years during his puberty still suddenly growing from below 5'7 to 6'4 is like dayum but anyways i gave my reasoning for the deduction of rating and my Overview of the story but i will say this in the end that If you can please make a Neglected Izuku Todorki without the cliche and with a twist like this one changing the whole concept while adding slice of life beacuse this tooic was also quite famous in mid 2022. And early 2023 in MHA Texting community ( and i hope youbecome hapoy by my comment beacuse as a fellow Text tuber we always love positive comments which point out logical miatakes and appreciates our work while understanding why we ended the story how we did )

The man himself said that he could not be with her because he thinks he ain't enough, it's a pretty common reason in irl relationships where the man gets insecurities albeit dating and being loved by a beautiful woman. It's a mistake yes but from his pov, it's understandable, he was pressured, stressed, and insulted for his looks and how he doesn't deserve his gf, his insecurities won over him so the only thing he thought that could make her 'happy' for the rest of her life is her finding a better man, he did that by telling Shoto to date her and ghosting her in order for her to easily forget him
