I think its interesting that almost all of them were ignoring all the lyrics. The song isn't about God being a woman. It's about her lover being so in love with her that he worships her. The line is YOU believe god is a woman. Sure there's an underlying current of female power but Ariana isn't telling people to belief God is a woman.

I think he was speaking as a Christian. However his logic is flawed. God is genderless. The Christian concept of God is that God is greater than gender or sex. In general I find a lot of Christian people misinterpret not only the song but also don't understand their own theology.

i loved that last guys reaction to this. he was so cool about it all. seemed like he was one of the only guys who could look past the whole ‘god is a woman’ statement and just enjoy the song and the video with the beautiful imagery, for what it is.
