@@breannaquade579 You can also use Retayne if you have fabric that's precious and you don't want to risk it bleeding. I normally buy it from Dharma Trading. They also carry Retro Clean and Retro Wash that are designed to take the yellowing out of delicate vintage fabrics without destroying the fabric, if you run into that situation as well.
Thank you for making this video. When I was still volunteering at the huge thriftstore with the doll department I did all of these methods. The one I started shying away from for hair was the fabric softener, but that might have to do with our city water as well. Children's detangler and shampoo and conditioner worked better and I always started with a non bleach dish soap first. Magic eraser and co are often a lifesaver for grime that just won't come off. But sometimes the cleaners Linda and Rachel have suggested work better than anything else.
For cleaning doll bodies I use Hand Cleaner Goop. It works very well. For stains I use zit cream. It takes awhile doing this process, so be patient. The last one I did had some horrible red stains. She was in a plastic tub stashed away for about 20 years. The red outfit she had on stained her horribly. Plus her legs became greasy. (Vinyl doll disease.) It took about a month to get rid of the stains. I fixed her vinyl doll disease by just cleaning her with Goop a few times. It hasn't come back yet. She's a fashion doll from the 1950's, With hair I've had some good luck and bad luck. I'll have to try hair conditioner sometime. I'm going to try it on some cheap dolls first just to see how it works. I shave my head so there's no conditioner in the house.
The only time Oxi ruined something of mine was when I forgot about it and it soaked over night. Now I set a timer and don't soak anything longer than an hour.

I've had good luck soaking my doll clothes in white vinegar before putting them in Oxyclean to stop the color bleeding 😊

Some people use goop..hand cleaner and I heard it has a pleasant vinyl smell also. Have you tried the goop..? It's supposed to be very gentle also.
