Rhode Island is only one of 3 states without a permanently operating rollercoaster. I hope it gets one soon, I was recently there and it was a very beautiful state.
obviously, you know I’m thrilled this video was made! One of the reasons this carousel is so beautiful is because it was actually Looff’s showpiece carousel, he used it as an advertisement for his carousels, another one of his showpiece carousels is in Spokane, which also has brass rings! I can’t wait to visit the carousel for the national carousel association convention! Where I’ll also be visiting Canobie Lake Park! Hooray!
There is also a beautiful Charles ID Looff carousel that he built in 1905 that first operated at Luna Park in Spokane WA, then moved in 1913 to Playland at the beach in San Francisco from 1913-1972 when the amusement park was demolished for condos in 1972. It was majestically renovated and currently operates at Yerba Buena Gardens near the Moscone convention center in San Francisco!!!!! 👍🎠
Looks like it's among the best caroucels in the world but I gotta give Santa Cruz the edge because of the lights, bells, and whistles with the clown. Even if they have the glass cases for the band organs as a detractor (it's good they maintain them though, Palace) that feature is rare enough to make it my favourite caroucel.
I have two favorite carausels the one at six flags great America and the one at the children's museum in Indianapolis be on the lookout the one at the children's museum doesn't let adults sit on horses only the benches

It's a bummer they have lost the few they had.
I mean they practically have SFNE. One park boundary is literally the state line if I remember correctly.
Always great to see you doing spotlights on historic attractions!
Glad you enjoyed it!
And, added this to my bucket list! What a gorgeous carousel.
It's well worth it.
Thatś a great looking classic. But the world's best Carousel would be the gorgeous Carousel at the Efteling. 😍
I am a sucker for ones with ring machines.
Crescent Park was always my favorite amusement park in Rhode Island and I am so glad that the Carousel was saved for everyone to enjoy :-)
It's still a wonderful ride.

That makes sense why it is so beautiful. I saw the one in Spokane on the way to Silverwood, but the ride hadn't opened yet for the day.

I drove past that one on the way to Silverwood.
Now I wanna see your personal 'Top 10 Carousels' list.
Maybe down the road I will make one.
It's a Ruth Style 38 Band Organ with Wurlitzer 165 Rolls!
ikr
Thanks for giving more detail on the organ!
Same exact model as SCBB and 16 years older, what a piece of Victorian history.
That is the one carousel I've ridden that could beat this one. Both are amazing.
Before you do that I hope you get to visit Missoula Montana, their carousel absolutely deserves a spot!

That's another amazing one.
Canobie Carousel?
Lol
This and Santa Cruz beach boardwalk’s carousel are the worlds best carousels to exist
Love both of those.
Does this carousel beat some coasters in your top 100?
No
It is a great ride. It has everything a carousel needs. It is also said it is Haunted! I am a skeptic but if there is truth to that let me know.
I love it.

I heavily favor the brass ring ones.
That’s a shame this park has no more thrills besides the carousel at least they didn’t take this down
I'm glad this ride lives on.
He forgot that if you get the gold ring you get a free ride.
I thought I mentioned that. If not, my bad!
They doubled the price of a ticket to $2.00 per ride. Greed
I thought that was still a good value.
No Slater Park is the best!
I prefer this one since it has rings.
