C.C. boats another 12 lb'er........way to go! REALLY NICE BASS!!! I think it was January of 2017, when I blew my chance......or should I say: the FISH blew the bait. I was fishing jumbo shiners & doing well that morning ( caught a 9.5, two over 8 and several 6 to 7 ). I was also tossing a few lures in between the shiner bite. I was working a black & blue jig slow in the grass in Farm 13 when the fish hit. It felt so heavy and powerful, I was convinced it was either a giant blue cat, or even a gator. Got hung in the wood & then got it free, still thinking it was "too big & powerful to be a bass". I was cranking like hell to keep it from getting in the wood again. Depth was only about 5 feet. It finally surfaced, didn't jump, but rolled & swung that big mouth 180 degrees right at the top. I got a really good look at it's entire mouth, gill plate, & front half of its body. As she rolled, she spit the hook from about 40 feet away, and that 1/2 oz jig shot past my right shoulder like a bullet. Oh how I cried. Another angler witnessed it from about 40 yards away. He said he thought I was using my trolling motor chasing that fish. I hadn't touched my trolling motor, that fish was towing my little boat, LOL!!! I've caught four 12's and many 10's over the years........this bass had to be at least 15 anyway........if not bigger. I hate to speculate bigger, especially when ya don't have the fish in your hands.
@@TheNorthFloridaAngler You're very welcome & thank YOU for the enjoyable content. The handful of times I've had true monster bass get away, they come un-hooked. Not once has one ever broke the line. ( Of course we're using line that would just about tow a truck, lol. ) Forgot to mention that this particular monster did bend the hook somewhat. And I use only Nichol's jigs, all made in-house by hand at Nichol's, using extremely strong, high quality hooks. Keep up the great fishing & always looking forward to your next one C.C.

What a epic video, and such beautiful spots to fish. But I gotta say, after watching you land the first several fish - I would rather fight a 6lb smallmouth than a 10+lb largemouth, any day.
