In the late 80s, before I was even born, something was happening in the world of video games that would change it for ever. Great minds were dreaming up new opportunities and adventures to take players on, and it culminated in some of the greatest franchises the medium has ever known.
I've spent many years, more than half of my life bringing you all my adventures from one such franchise, Final Fantasy. But we all know that this is far from the only show in town, with many other titles worthy of being considered among the greats. One such franchise is of course Dragon Quest, created in 1986 with help from the minds of giants like Yuji Horii and the late great Akira Toriyama. With names like this involved, and a history spanning over 30 years, it's natural for a Final Fantasy fan having completed his journey through the mainline games to want to discover what he's been missing out on over the years.
So join me as I make my first foray into a new franchise, a chance to see it with new eyes and hopefully come to understand why this series has withstood the test of time and garnered millions of fans around the world. The HD-2D Remake of DQ3 has come at a great time for the channel, and its release timing meant it leap-frogged some other JRPGs I will eventually get to. Lovingly remade for modern systems with a beautiful artstyle and many updates over the original, I am hoping this will bring me and many of my viewers who have also not given DQ a try over the years into the franchise.
I'll be doing a blind run of the game without a guide or meaningful external help, the same way I've played almost every game my entire life. For better or worse, that authentic experience is what I enjoy and if I am to fall in love with a game, I want it to be on my own terms and not because I was told how I should play it. That is the way it's always been on the channel and will almost certainly be how it remains. Everyone has their way to play, and if it didn't work for me I would be here all these years later still passionately playing and uploading these experiences for you all :) I hope everyone enjoys the series and supports this new adventure on the channel!

3 mp per attack. pretty good to the end of the game. somatic staff is eventually a good investment especially against the strong to magic/element enemies. and i am over 50 hours at my spot, near the end if i push for it, but i am actively hunting everything
