    Nvidia... I recently switched to AMD because of its issues on Linux/Wayland... Although it has less issues with Davinci Resolve

      AMD also has a better price / value ratio. Their drivers and functionality lack a bit behind, especially when it comes to the development of HYPR-RX and FSR, but that's not a problem for most.

    Cool setup, what I still have is a KVM switch from TE-Smart, they are available for rackmount and there are some that can do DP1.2, so 144HZ FHD is possible.

    Hmmmm... as I'm also looking into building a PC for media creation on Linux, I'm kinda set on an all-AMD CPU/GPU rig. I think Davinci Resolve with AMD GPU on Debian might be a little bit smoother, as opposed to Fedora, but just like you, I guess I'll be finding out right there and then...

    Question: Why did you rack mount your PC in the first place? The rack is in the same room so it still heats up the space and does not help with noise. Also, you are having to spend money on active cables and USB over ethernet devices. Also, thank you so much for making your videos. I recently built a budget gaming PC and a Windows license would have been too expensive so I installed Ubuntu and it has been working great so far!

    • @MichaelNROH
      @MichaelNROH  ปีที่แล้ว +8

      It's mostly about utilizing the most out of the room and a rack is something that you buy once and keep forever.
      I wish I could put it in another room which is the plan someday, but my current apartment only has one additonal bedroom and I don't really like that one heated.

    elgato on Linux is usually a no sadly, which is why I use blackmagic products instead, their Linux support is pretty good

    Latency problem with audio?
    Active displayport in your case, does it take power from your PC or extra power cable needed?

    • @MichaelNROH
      @MichaelNROH  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I can't answer the audio question yet since I didn't connect everything yet.
      The active Displayport cable doesn't need any additional power source as long as both devices aren't some weird offbrand ones. Basically all GPUs and Monitors should support them.

    I think anything rack mounted is required to have loud fans :)

    • @MichaelNROH
      @MichaelNROH  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No actually. Higher Server cases like 3U and up behave similar like a tower. You really just need that high pressure for lower ones like 1U or 2U

    Hello again mr Michael which distributions do you use for servers and what type of pc do you have

    • @MichaelNROH
      @MichaelNROH  ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh boy, ähm hold on.
      So, the server parts are linked in the description, it's hypervisor will be Proxmox, some VMs include Debian 12, CentOS (Maybe Rocky), Test VMs with different operating systems.
      My PC has a similar config, but I use an AMD 6800XT there.

    • @MichaelNROH
      @MichaelNROH  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They are fine for the price and availability.
      I prefer my sever case over my Desktop one, but that's mainly due to size and the bigger intake fan.
      What you need to consider for every server case though, is swapping out the fans, since the default ones can get quite audible

    Have you ever looked up how many of your viewers are subscribed? I'm curious what percentage that is, if you know and are willing to share.

      @anon_y_mousse ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MichaelNROH Thanks. I didn't think about it before, but that might be a good thing if you consider that it could mean you're being introduced to a lot of new people. I suppose it would be better to ask: what percentage of your subscribers view each video, if they collect that data. I'll eventually catch up myself, but I've got over 400 subs so you can well imagine my subs feed is a sea of videos.

    I'm surprised you didn't just build one hardcore setup and virtualize everything.

    • @MichaelNROH
      @MichaelNROH  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Would have liked to but unfortunately Anti-Cheat doesn't work with virtualization.
      Those that does probably wouldn't reverse a ban since their policy states that VMs are not allowed
