That is awesome! I didn't even know they make 10 inch racks. I was always use to the standard 19 inch rack and above which is what I am running right now.
Not having the devices within the labeled spaces hurts my soul but perhaps you have a reason for the offset. It is more important when using bigger racks though so you can line up rails and know which server you are working with if they are identical.
yes you are correct, for me it’s simple to know what’s what since i only have a few devices and know which are which but in bigger racks or if i was to add more hardware that is the same i would label what is what
lovely little rack, but why not use the actual lines to align stuff? you literally went outside on all the components? you can also get a nice keystone patch panel and put some rj45 to rj45 keystones in and you can keep the servers cables behind instead of running them to the front, and then you just connect the patch panel to your switch. gives a super clean layout.
yes i wired this very messy but it was first time racking gear, since i’ve redone the rack and ran the cables much nicer. a patch panel could be interesting in the future ti add to this
that's neat. I just starting on my homelab with a used optiplex 9020 (3 HDD + 1 boot sdd). do you know any system or case that would fit in a nas server with 3x3.5hdd to that server rack?
i’m not sure if we’d be able to squeeze a case that small in this rack as much as i wish we could. but i am working on a nas video in the future so keep an eye out for it!
That's incredible, it's what every family should have at home.
Thanks for linking the rack, perfect for my needs.
