Twisters definitely was not a flop since it made at least 20M in net profit, if we are to believe production budget estimates. Marketing departments of production companies normally inflate their publicly leaked budgets for a variety of reasons. Ghostbusters Frozen Empire should have a place on this list as it made only twice its advertised budget.
It was easily the best performing movie here, but it's kind of debateable. The international audience clearly rejected the movie and that audience often plays a massive factor in how much longevity a movie has after it's theatrical run.

One actor in Horizon they didn't use to his full ability, I've followed his work for years is Michael Angarano. I was annoyed how his character played out , and expected to see him as a different character.
Twisters (2024) was a much bigger disaster than they let people believe. The domestic numbers look fine against the figures for Twister (1996), but actually when you adjust the figures for ticket price inflation you realise Twisters (2024) made about half what the original did. As for the rest of the world: The original had Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt in, even here in the UK we knew these people in the '90s. Glen Powell I had to look up but did recognise as being in Top Gun: Maverick, Daisy Edgar-Jones... yeah, never heard of her. The poster of the original boasted it was from the producers of Jurassic Park and the director of Speed. Modern Hollywood just can't compete with the packages they built in decades past, they no longer have the type of bankable stars (in front or behind the screen) they once did.
I haven't seen any of these films, but I would like to point out that the history of American cinema is littered with flops that became classics. It will be interesting to see what the future holds.
I wasn't expecting to like Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and Twisters all that much, but I surprisingly did both. People, we all knew that The Crow was going to flop BIG TIME and it did as did Borderlands.

"Furiosa" was like watching Terminator Two. Terrific movie, very well done. This deserved to do really well. What happened? A lot of internet trolls decided it was a "girl boss" film, and attacked it. These are the guys who say they really like strong women who have earned their strength, like Ripley or Sarah Conner. This ignores that Ripley was always a competent, "by the book" character, who should have been leading the mission. And Sarah Conner? Already covered that. She started barely handling her life, and grew to become a real heroine.
It had nothing to do with the trolls. Mad Max has just never been a franchise that drew in the crowd. Fury Road was easily the highest grossing Mad Max movie to date and that was $380 million at the box office. All prior Mad Max movies before that only had their video rental and sales recorded because they didn't even make much at the theaters. It also probably didn't help they changed the actors and neither Anya Taylor Joy or Chris Hemsworth are a draw outside the MCU. Though I do agree about the trolls. These are the same idiots who claims they love Sarah Connor one moment then got acting like a bunch of raging crybabies because Sarah is on the poster of Terminator Dark Fate. And keep in mind, this was before any info about the movie came out. Only that Sarah, MacKenzie and Natalia was in the movie. Also the trolls have little power in actual numbers because in the real world you can't spam vote things with your hundreds of troll accounts. These are the exact same idiots who can't get their crappy Matt Walsh and Daily Wire movie to even reach $12 million worldwide LOL.
Fun fact about all these movies almost NO ONE asked for any of this except for Twisters or maybe IF. Not puzzling at all Twisters are unique too America a lone so no one else would get this movie. Biggest issue with all these movies are their insane budgets though

Now the Kevin Costner film I have not sceen. But it could still be a “ Direct Too stream film series “ released in the January-February season as people like too sit at home in the east coast and eat comfort food and watch such films. The future is digital and there is no denying that . Most movies growing up in the 80’s and 90’s most people watched at home right? So certain projects are meant for the “ Small screen “ but you can take longer too draw out the script and more characters development can be undertaken.
I did enjoy mad max and still believe in future for the series. But it might have too be taken in a different direction. I’m thinking what happens “ beyond the thunder dome “ . What happened too the kids in the city. What if max finally leaves the desert and makes his way too a dystopian city of Sydney? Perhaps he travels too a swamp filled with crocodiles. Tom hardly is kind of a shit actor . I will play max , perhaps get mell Gibson producing it . What about The warlords back story? Could be interesting? . What if max steals something from the war lord and they chase him across the desert, through a swamp and too the dystopian city full of junkyard warriors. Could work.
And by developing such things as the Kevin Costner film series for the small screen ( I’m Watching this from my I phone and just finished watching “ G.I joe Dragon fire” via TH-cam) you can also reach a broader audience. By doing so you still can develop movies for the big screen, but we’re talking marvel sci-fi and fantasy adventures . I’ve never sceen silence of the lambs on the big screen , but have sceen all the movies. Does that make since too you . Billy Corgan has an album he released in the 2000’s called the “ Digital embrace “ and I think this what we have too focus on . Buck Rodgers and Flash Gordon were originally short “ Serials “ similar ideas could be done In weekly 15-20 min shorts that you could stream while sitting on the “can” as everyone had a cell phone and ear buds these days. Also know as “ Can or Crapper streams “ . But too really start focusing on ☝🏻“ The Digital embrace “ Is important.
