As a father i know how it feels to see your son grow up and like and play the same music as you. My son is 17yrs old and is my guitarist or bassist depending on who writes what, i am the drummer, guitarist, or bassist and he is coming along nicely on drums sobwe should be able to move around on any instrument soon. The first time we actually played together so awesome because it was so natural, my brother who is a drummer as well came over for Thanksgiving so we set everything up in my garage and I filmed it and it came out perfect. If anyone wants to see it's titled "dad, son, and uncle james". Didn't want to hog the spot light here haha just wanted to share! God bless

God has blessed us tremendously and i appreciate your thoughts about "if you were religious" that actually means a lot especially from someone who is not. I took my then high school daughter to this show at Irvine Meadows (hahahah). It was great dad/daughter moment for us and when Julian played this song with his dad and the band while I was watching with my daughter it was a kind of magical moment.

Right...... I noticed the first time i watched this how much he has the same style and stage presence as Mike. But for some reason as many time as i have watched this i just really noticed that he pretty much looks exactly his dad did back in the 90s.

Playin' his Daddy's guitar. Doubt he will ever think it's as awesome as we do. Growing up with Mike Ness as your dad wasn't all fuckin' roses, but your dad made millions of people happy. And Julian, you shredding it on his guitar for these 5 minutes was pretty fuckin' cool. So thanks.
My dad never played anything but he definitely supports my playing. he comes to most of my shows, and he doesn't always like the songs I write but he's there. I'm just hoping when I have kids they pick up an instrument. I won't force anything, well, maybe a little ;), but I don't want them to not play because they feel obligated to. it's great that Mikes son seems to enjoy it! he even does his hair and dresses like him. hell he's got the moves to! Mike must be proud!

He DOES have a father who was in the spotlight growing up, but he casts his own shadow and he has overcome many obstacles like INSECURITY and ADDICTION all brought about by the "luck" you call it of being a "rockstar's son". He doesn't need to relate to his dad's music. He loves his dad on a whole other level and I can assure you that mike's number one fan is Julian. Not because of the music, but because his dad has protected and supported him, and been a role model to him.
