Hey Randy, I have been watching your videos for a few years now, and they have been really useful to me, thanks. I'm off sick from work these past few months, and again your videos have been a lifeline. Just wanted to say, keep it up, and thank you.
Hey Randy, I've restrung electrics no end of times but just did my first acoustic one. For some reason I've felt wary of doing it and put it off for a while. Thanks for this video, helped me get 'er done.
Thanks for the reminder to humidifier my Acoustic guitars! And its about time i showed my Appreciation for your videos you do by supporting your relaxed humorous and guitar Luther knowledge with your excellent information. Cheers and Happy Days from Australia Randy!
Randy, have you ever discussed your opinions on bridge pin material's effect on tone? I hate to make a request, but I think an overview of different woods/materials on each part of the guitar and how they effect tone would be an awesome video!
Hi Randy, just wanted to say I have watched a heap of your videos and am enjoying them, sleeping better now in the knowledge that my guitar will never go "ding" again when I replace the strings. :) Pete
I have only been watching for a few days but I have learnt a hell of a lot. Thanks for such good entertaining and informative videos. I never realised what a difference to the sound winding the strings down low makes.
Great video and tips. Not too long and not too short, plus some interesting licks. I just had my third string winding start separating and had not ever replaced strings on an acoustic and found your video. Now I just have to get a set of strings. Thanks and I subscribed.
Hi Randy, I've been playing guitar since 1964 and I love your vids. I want to Thank You much! You can definetly teach an old dog new tricks. I can also tell you are sharing you knowledge from the heart, just like your music. I will do some supporting a bit later. Love to see you doing what you love all the time and not have to worry about some damn bill. Thanks again. Davey
Thank you Randy! I just rediscovered my old Washbrun akoustic guitar after more than 30 years not playing..it has still got a good sound in it. Well, I thought so, before ..DING.. and before I learned more about that sitar tone. But I will have it all re-stringed and now learned how to do so. It was nice watching the video. Good dog too!
Hi Randy. I’m a newbie to your channel. The reason being is that I have recently purchased one of these new “hybrid” guitars as a backup in case my archtop jazz guitar needs to be worked on. So far I’ve managed to get by without a backup guitar! My other guitars are nylon stringed for my solo gigs... I have never owned a hybrid guitar before so I needed to research a few things related to guitar setup, etc... I came across a number of your videos and have found ALL of them very interesting. I guess these days I would qualify as being an “old dog” but with this video I’ve learned a few new tricks/approaches to guitar maintenance that I was not hip to! Thank you sir, for explaining in the most simple and direct way topics that demystify the guitar. Also I find that I can’t possibly say no to Cueball asking for a donation for his best friend Randy! I’m new to the TH-cam world and maybe that’s why I can’t locate the donate button? Is there another way I can show my support? In the meantime Happy New Year Randy!
thanks for checking out my videos Jerry! it's always nice to hear they've helped someone! the support button doesn't seem to show up for some, many in Canada have told me they can't see it. however under the "about" tab here on my channel is a direct Paypal link, several have used it to show support but you have to have a PP account. big thank you my friend from Q and myself! and Happy New Year! I hope it is a great one for you! :)
I cant thank you enough! There was so many videos I went through but your wisdom truly shines in the tutorials you provide. I am still learning how to play the guitar and very new to this, I didn't want to spend the money and pay someone to do this for me as I like to do things myself, plus I think its an important part of the learning process. Just restrung my guitar and it sounds amazing to what it was before. Thank you so much friend
Very cool to hear this! I'm glad my videos are helpful and thanks so much for watching! You have came to the right place if you want to learn all about guitars and things you can learn to do yourself, it saves a ton of money sometimes! :) All the best my friend!
THANK YOU Randy! this video is exactly what I needed today having just bought my first (2nd hand) acoustic guitar Sigma Martin& Co DM-1... had to thoroughly clean the fret board OMG! but now new strings thanks to your guidance! what a lovely tone this instrument has... thoroughly enjoying working through your videos when I get a moment! thank you...
Hi Randy, thanks I'm learning a lot. I like some other channels content too, but you are becoming my go to guy. Getting ready to give my guitar the first bit of TLC shes's had in over twenty years. Bad I know, but now I know better she'll be taken care of right for the rest of our lives together.
Randy, long time fan, but have never commented and u said it would be nice if folks said hello. For me personally, what draws me to you is the similar lifestyle you have with me. I don't know where you are from, but it doesn't seem to be to far from me in Eastern Arkansas in the delta. It's hot, country, and money is tight. I can't relate to the stew Mac folks who sell a guitar neck saddle for $40. We call that "a block of wood" . And when I need a straight edge, a 2x4 section of wood will work, or something similar will. You're one of the few guitar experts that acknowledges that we can't all have a Martin D series guitar. I loved the video where you described scalloping. I have a Yamaha FG830 with that in it. The only complaint is that the nut and saddle are made of urea or something aweful. I had a synthetic saddle put on but I want to upgrade the nut and saddle to get the most out of the guitar. Any advice?
I'm new here and to playing guitar this is a awesome very detailed video that will save alot of hassle from the string popping out of tune thank you for this video for the beginners like my self
Sure wish I had seen the tip about pushing down on the ball end of a string before pulling it and the pin out. I used a wire cutter (done it many times the way you have demonstrated) to pull the loosened string and bridge pin out, and when it didn't come easy, I wound up accidentally breaking the pin head off! I live literally in the Outback of Saskatchewan, and actually had to order a new guitar online, rather than try the repair myself. NO music stores of any kind in my part of the world. Wish I had seen your video, first. As a Canadian, I had to HUNT for the link to donate, but even with the exchange rate, I sent you USD through PayPal. If I had seen your video first, it might have saved me many, many times the amount I sent you. Sorry this is long, but I want other subscribers to know, I have watched many video lessons, you have the best and most cost-friendly tips I have seen. Thank you many times over!
Many thanks to you Sandra! And thank you for the donation!Yep lifting the pin just slightly and then pushing the string back down in the hole separates the ball from the pin and almost every time will allow you to then pull the pin the rest of the way out with your fingers. Saves a lot of wear on the pins as well! Thanks again my friend it is greatly appreciated!
Good tips, good tips, and don't forget there's a notch on plastic string winders to pull one's bridge pins. Pay attention the first few times when winding on strings--imagine about how many wraps you can fit underneath on the post (depends on string size), and try to have the appropriate length/slack. You can eyeball it/have a general rule, such as Mr. Schartiger's next tuning post distance, or even measure it out with a piece of yarn or old guitar string (especially for the thicker strings) to dial in the number of wraps. Just keep in mind you'll want more wraps on the thinner strings vs thicker to get a nice break angle, and simply make a note, for future reference, of the extra length needed for each string after dialing things in during the first few string changes.
Those are all great tips for changing strings. It’s amazing how just wear and rust on old strings can cause the sitar sounds. Good to see Q-ball again.
I'm going to do another video on rusty string soon and use a new macro lens to show up VERY close what happens to a string that become extremely rusty. They look pretty creepy when observed under that kind of magnification. Thanks for tuning in Dale, Q says hey! :)
Awesome video Randy :) I have heard people talking about getting a sitar noise, but never really had a concept of what it actually sounded like. Thanks for giving us an actual example. Great tip about pushing the strings in before pulling the pins out too.
A lot of folks think it's their frets when they hear that sitar sound but sometimes it's the strings. Pushing the string into the guitar really makes a difference in how easy or hard the pins comes out. Thank you Frankie for taking a look! :)
Good video Randy. Glad to see your in better spirits. Thanks for the tips. I pulled the archtop out of the closet and was getting the sitar. LOL Time to put some new flat wounds on it...Thanks...
Hi Mr Randy, enjoyed the tips for changing string...I have to agree about the Martin strings, it's a pain in the butt with them packaged two per pack. Luv the sound of new strings though, great sound guitar. Hooold Oooon! Great to see Q-ball :)
Someone commented on my Facebook and said these must be old strings because Martin now put each string in a packet of it's own. I buy them by the case so they must have started doing it after I bought this case. Thanks for having a look Suzanna! Q says hey! :) Hold on!
My good friend , the late Greg Curbow , master luthier from Atlanta and noth GA area , taught me to wind one loop over the top and 2 under . Old habits are hard to break . I sent a token of my appreciation for the education and entertainment you provide me . Wish I could do more but I am a poor man wealth wise . I am rich in spirit though . I have 3 dachsunds that live with me . dog people are usually good people . Peace bro.
Old habits sure are tough to break. I agree with you on the dogs, I don't think one can ever have too many of them. We had 3 but one passed away 2 years ago. Thanks for tuning in brother and thank you for the token! :)
Thank you Randy for all your useful info and tips. I just put $5 in the paypal tip jar for you. I have learned about so many great how to's from you. Hope others remember and do the same to show their appreciation. Thanks again. Cueball is a cutie.
To paraphrase some classic Reithian values (Lord Reith was THE big cheese in the early days of the BBC), your videos are informative, educational and entertaining. Thanks for your string-changing tips here. Sincerely, Peter Bryenton, BryPix.com (UK).
Randy you probably forgot more than I will ever know but old strings and you didn't not clean the board. I if time allows brush up and oil the fret board with? your favorite stuff. I lightly steel wool the frets and lube the nut. I do that every other string change. At the rate I'm going brother and may never see the fret board again. I don't want people to talk about my dirty guitar at my funeral. Well there are only a few good things to say and I'm sure someone can miss up something or say how natural I look. Thank you for the great video.
Watching this, I kept thinking of those old tv and movie comedies where two people would rush and try to barge through the door at the same time. You could say, the stringy one always got pushed back so the bigger one could get through 😁
Good tips. Especially on the bridge. I have a slightly different preference in regards to the tuning pegs, but your approach to the bridge end was helpful.
another thing that i do which i feel is very important is always make sure the round ball end is running parallel to sound hole not turned sideways that keeps it from chewing up the bridge plate.
Wow, holding the string up to the next tuning peg to set your length before winding is something I wish I'd have though of years ago. I'm always trying to figure out how long it should be and end up with a million winds or too few. Thanks
lol bass strings on a guitar! :) Yeah on acoustics they make that top move better and really brings out the bass and low end. Thanks for checking out my video mate!
I'm liking your videos. Subscribed. That trick of pushing the string down to loosen the pin really helps. I forgot where I seen that, I think from a Martin tech video. Your video here was the only other one I remember that shows that trick. I really like your repair videos too. Peace V
Thank you George! I try to make them right to the point yet try to keep them interesting and funny all at the same time. Thanks again for checking them out! :)
Great job brother, I purchased a set of D'Addario strings off of amazon, after putting them on, I noticed they didn't sound like they should, I looked closer at the strings and packaging and found out they were knock-off strings (Fake), so I didn't know people were selling fake strings, so if anyone out there gets a set of these from amazon, check them out closely, they may be a fake set, that dont sound very good.
Your videos are great, I cant find this SUPPORT BUTTON you talk about , you ve saved me a lot of head aches ,your videos are always complete and explained you leave nothing out FANTASTIC .i have a Blueridge BR163CE with a fishman prefix plus t ive had nothing but trouble with the under saddle red pezio buzzing ive replaced it a few times works for a few months then starts buzzing again have you had any of this ?? im in Australia mate hope you and the dog are doing well cheers,
Your tip at 11:05, THANK YOU! I can't tell you how many times I'm tightening a new set of strings and they're popping like that and going out of tune. Annoying and nerve-wracking! Thank again, Randy.
Hey Randy. London England here brother, ive been playing for years we have a similar style man but your tips are all news to me and work BRILLIANTLY! inspired by your video i just fitted some of them "Argentine" strings on my mARTIN the ones with the loop ends, Django used to use them... but hey, man they are the most beautiful sound for chord type things slow jazzy stuff. You may want to explore them as the loop ends on them is different. I m waiting to see if i get Sitaritis in a little while man! Thanks again Randy i feel ive known you for years man. Frank Savage
Very cool! I'm glad my tips are helpful! Over the many years of my life I've tried to remember a bunch of them from experiences passed. Thank you for watching and commenting my friend, it is a pleasure to have you aboard and I sincerely appreciate it! :)
Randy I have watched countless people showing how to change strings and they are saying do this and that (string lock methods) which is a bitch to do and yes I get the strings popping at the pins all the time but not anymore thanks to you my friend. Cheers Randy again. Duffer Belfast Northern Ireland. Gonna try that Blue Button now.
I am like you Randy..the string people could stop that double string packaging any time and I would be a happy camper...Haaa good video once again hot in arkansas felt like 107 today..woo wee keep cool
It would make it a lot easier when all you really need is the 1st and 6th to check things. Hot here too today and BIG time humidity, makes it even worse. Thanks for tuning in Dan, try to stay kewl!
I know this is an older video but it's always good to know the tricks to changing your strings. Have you ever heard of tuning to 432hz instead of 440hz?
Hi Randy, thanks for your Video 👍 I’ve just put some Martin 12s on my acoustic guitar and the E & A string buzz like ...😬 the E more that the A The strings I took of look ever so slightly narrower ! Could this be the reason the new string are buzzing? Hope your ok there in the current lockdown 🦠😷 I’m lucky I live in the country small village in Wiltshire UK 🇬🇧 all the best fella. Martyn
unless you replaced them with the same gauge your neck relief will change, adjust neck relief for what ever gauge strings you plan to use, this should stop buzzing if everything else is set right. thanks for checking out my videos! hope this helps!
Hi Randy, I subscribed to your channel a few days ago after following your progress with that Gibson LG-2 repair, amazing job you did! I change my strings the same way you do, one at a time and I use the same kind of wire cutters to remove the pins, always have! You're spot on dude! I gotta ask you though, I wonder why some of the other guys on here who have video's on changing strings replace them all at once? I know I've always replaced them one at a time as I simply feel it's better and safer, especially if you're changing to a different gauge. I appreciate all your video's, they're very informative! ~Cheers!
the only time I take all the strings off is either to work on the instrument or buff and polish it. lots of times the neck relief will change a little when all the strings are removed at once. thanks for watching and commenting I appreciate it!
hi there! i would like to say that I like your videos and I did learn so many things from you, so thank you! I wish I could press that support button but I live in Bangladesh for that reason I cannot support you through that button.... I hope that you will continue making these videos and educate people about guitar all around the world. Cheers!
Thanks so much Muhammed! I also have my Paypal set up to support from the about tab on my channel page if that would help. Either way thanks for watching my videos and commenting is support enough. :)
good tips , thanks. im in the uk and dont see a support button. you should start a patreon anyhow. youll definately pick up some bucks and if people spend even a period of time checking out your content they can make a small payment and it all adds up. keep the channel going, its well worth it. cheers
Thanks for the many great videos. Any ideas for a tool i could use to partially scallop the bass side braces through the sound hole without having to remove the back?
Randy - I dread changing my strings. I hate it. I break out into a sweat and my hands start to shake and it always ... with out fail ends up looking like crap. No one ever took the time to show me how until now. I bought the strings and I have all the necessary gadgetry to make it easier and since my Martin D-18 has started sounding like shite ... it's time to do it. I think this set of strings has been on my guitar for a couple of years and I play everyday. I never knew to measure to the winder above and bend the string like you do ... that is going to help right off the bat. Never knew to push the string down the hole before trying to pop out the peg. Good tips ... I'm motivated and ready to change my strings. I'll let you know how it goes.
I would love to know how it goes! Wow if you been playing your guitar every day for 2 years with the same strings then you are going to absolutely LOVE the sound new strings will give your guitar! I always want to play without stopping when I put on fresh strings because your ear gets used to hearing the old ones and when you hear the new ones you just can't stop playing on it! Cheers and good luck changing! Thanks for watching my friend!
Done - here's the report. I've been playing everyday for at least a year and my guitar sounded like I was strumming clay pots. Overall it was the best string changing experience I've ever had. I put a set of Martin medium Lifespan Sp strings on. Each string had it's own individual envelope. The advice to push the string through the hole worked on all 6 pegs - I removed them all by hand and that's a first. The tip to measure to the tuner above and bend the string made a huge difference for me. All of the strings wound perfectly and look good. So as a thank you I hit the support button and sent you 5 semolians. I wish you lived next because I'd bring my guitar over when it's time to restring. Thanks buddy.
twangbro Very cool of you brother thank you for the support! Very much appreciated! And thanks for the report! I'm glad it went well for you. I've seen people fight the pins to get them out and if they only knew the correct way they could save themselves a lot of trouble and time. Thanks again my friend!
Hi Randy, great video! I have a Sigma DME and it's got 0.12-0.53 (I think) and I want to change it to 0.13-0.56 but I'm kinda scared it's gonna mess it up...Anny advice?
That was nice stringing advice. I learned a better way to pull the string pegs out now. :) Is it important to keep the same pegs in the same string hole?
Really enjoy your videos Randy. I was always taught to go over the tuner hole once, then under with the rest. Locks the string to the tuner. You have any problem with strings loosening? Keep on keeping on!! from BC Canada
Maybe the same gauge if you like the gauge thats on the guitar now. If you're not using coated or treated strings you may want to give them a shot. Other than that it just depends on what you like.
Thank you Randy. I am sorry I was not clear with my questions. I meant replacement pegs not the strings. I think I typed this at the point in the video were you were showing how they wear out. Yes I like the coated strings. Elixer (sp?) Poly webs have worked the best for me on my acoustic and nano webs on my electric. Peace!
Joshua Doty Ahh the bridge pins you mean? Only thing is you might want to replace them with the same kind, if they are bone then I would replace them with new bone ones, but if you wanted to upgrade to something like tusq then it would be a good time to give them a try. Different material they are made of can effect the soud of your guitar.
Hi I've just subscribed, really enjoying your videos with guitar tips, I own a 2016 Gibson hummingbird vintage... thermally cured so the top is been through a baking process... I live in the uk so I'm unsure whether I have to humidify my guitar give. The fact it's been thermally cured and also the uk isn't a hot place to live. What do you advise? Thanks kev
Martin has been torrifing their guitar woods too which ages the wood and they say it makes new guitars sound more like old ones. You'll still need to keep humidity levels between 45-55% to protect it, even tho it's a baking process the wood has to maintain those levels. Thanks for subscribing and welcome aboard!
Hey Randy, I have been watching your videos for a few years now, and they have been really useful to me, thanks. I'm off sick from work these past few months, and again your videos have been a lifeline. Just wanted to say, keep it up, and thank you.

Thank youI’ve been trying to figure out how to change the strings and you finally taught me
I just stumbled on your videos. Truly excellent, thank you. Cheers!
Thanks Randy, I enjoy watching your videos from here in Wendover Ontario.
I've watched a few of your videos and this is great stuff.. lots of good info.. thanks
Just started watching you about 2 weeks ago Randy. I like ya. Kind of guy to have a beer with! Thanks for all the good content. Eating it up

Someone commented on my Facebook and said these must be old strings because Martin now put each string in a packet of it's own. I buy them by the case so they must have started doing it after I bought this case. Thanks for having a look Suzanna! Q says hey! :) Hold on!
It agree with you - creating videos takes time and a lot of effort too. Fair play to you making content and keep it up. Thanks for the video
Great channel....hope to fix the crack on the top of my olde Harmony with your advise....thank you !!!!
LOVE YOUR VIDEOS PAL. I feel so much more sure of myself when I try to fix my guitars. Thank you thank you thank you.
Love watching your videos Randy, interesting very helpful & always make it a laugh , thank you Robert in Kent UK where’s my beer
Thanks for the tricks and tips. As a newer player they are very helpful.
It's good to hear they are useful, thanks for watching! :)
Hey Randy...You're such a valuable resource. Thank you very much for sharing your knowledge for your subscribers. Give my regards to Earl. ✌🏼
Hey. Just bought my first acoustic in about 30 years. Mostly play electrics but wanted an acoustic too. Just subbed. Awesome videos!
thank you for subbing! you can find just about anything you need to know on this channel! :)
Thank you Randy for all your useful info and tips. I just put $5 in the paypal tip jar for you. I have learned about so many great how to's from you. Hope others remember and do the same to show their appreciation. Thanks again. Cueball is a cutie.
Love that Q-Ball! Another great video, much appreciated!
Thank you for the tips on getting the strings out of the bridge! On some guitars I have had the string is really seated in there, almost too tight.
To paraphrase some classic Reithian values (Lord Reith was THE big cheese in the early days of the BBC), your videos are informative, educational and entertaining. Thanks for your string-changing tips here. Sincerely, Peter Bryenton, BryPix.com (UK).
Thanks randy, given me some great advice. Appreciate your videos.
Randy,Iove your videos! So much helpful lessons!
Got referred to your site by Jerry Rosa. Really enjoy watching your work. Thanks!
very cool! Jerry is a great guy! thanks for coming here and thanks for checking out my videos!
Hey,Randy great tip make's perfect sense!! great to see The Q-Ball !!Hollld!!Onnnnn!!
Thank you brother for giving it a watch and commenting, Q-ball will be making more appearances soon! Hold on!!! "D
Aww Q-Ball in a cube :-) So sweet! Thanks for that, Randy! And of course a great video again, my dear friend :-)
You could say, the stringy one always got pushed back so the bigger one could get through 😁
I always had trouble with the pins, not anymore. thanks Randy...
Brilliant thanks randy. Love your show. Mark from U.K.
Good video Randy! Reminds me that I need to put new strings on a couple of guitars of mine. Well done!
I went ahead and put strings on another of mine too while I was at it, they needed changed bad. Thanks for viewing Kent!
Good tips. Especially on the bridge. I have a slightly different preference in regards to the tuning pegs, but your approach to the bridge end was helpful.
Hello from Knoxville TN, Randy! I subscribed last night. Love the vids and tips. Keep up the good work, sir...
Good ideas. Have used some of your tips, and they work!!
another thing that i do which i feel is very important is always make sure the round ball end is running parallel to sound hole not turned sideways that keeps it from chewing up the bridge plate.
That ol girl has a nice jangle sound now. Thx for the video, Randy
This guitar definitely has a unique sound unlike most Martin's I've played or heard. Thanks for checking out the video Bobby! :)
Wow, holding the string up to the next tuning peg to set your length before winding is something I wish I'd have though of years ago. I'm always trying to figure out how long it should be and end up with a million winds or too few. Thanks
Thanks for the tips Randy!
You're welcome Dave thanks for checking out my video!
cool vids man. Im new to the channel and learning loads from you, keep up the good work and thanks for the top tips
Welcome aboard my friend! Glad to be of help! And thanks for watching!
Another couple of great vids mate. 13 to 56 Wow!! You got Ninja fingers Randy! Your left hand is a deadly weapon :-) Rock on mate.
lol bass strings on a guitar!
Peace V
Very cool thank you my friend and thanks for subscribing! I'm glad my videos are helpful! Lots more to come! :)
thanks for the tips ! sounds like that would work on my electric lp copy too, except for the bridge stuff of course !
Yeah the string winding tips work on electric and acoustic both. Thanks for checking it out Richard!
Thanks Randy, videos are so good.
Thank you George! I try to make them right to the point yet try to keep them interesting and funny all at the same time. Thanks again for checking them out! :)
Thanks for the info Randy. Good stuff!
Your videos are great, I cant find this SUPPORT BUTTON you talk about , you ve saved me a lot of head aches ,your videos are always complete and explained you leave nothing out
FANTASTIC .i have a Blueridge BR163CE with a fishman prefix plus t ive had nothing but trouble with the under saddle red pezio buzzing ive replaced it a few times works for a few months then starts buzzing again have you had any of this ?? im in Australia mate hope you and the dog are doing well cheers,
Your tip at 11:05, THANK YOU! I can't tell you how many times I'm tightening a new set of strings and they're popping like that and going out of tune. Annoying and nerve-wracking! Thank again, Randy.
Hey Randy.
London England here brother, ive been playing for years we have a similar style man but your tips are all news to me and work BRILLIANTLY! inspired by your video i just fitted some of them "Argentine" strings on my mARTIN
the ones with the loop ends, Django used to use them... but hey, man they are the most beautiful sound for chord type things slow jazzy stuff.
Your do in a GREAT job Randy...keep it up brother you're teaching me a few tricks and I'm an old road hardened six string jockey! ! Peace man.
I gotta tune my ears better lol...thanks for your tips! 🎵🎵🎵
New strings make a huge difference! Great video brother!
They sure do! This guitar was dead and the strings were green! lol Thanks brother!
Great vid Randy. I have seen guys trying to work on their nuts because of that - and a simple change of strings would make it.
I should have mention that a lot of people think it's their but causing the problem, thanks for mentioning that and thanks for tuning in Cesar! :)
Great stuff Randy
peg pulling nice, string wrapping nice. Thank you sir
I know this is an older video but it's always good to know the tricks to changing your strings. Have you ever heard of tuning to 432hz instead of 440hz?
sure have and in fact have a video coming soon about tuning to 430Hz. thanks for watching!
now i know. how to change the string of my guitar. Thanks for this video
Nice tips buddy, thanks for sharing
You're welcome my friend thank you for checking it out!
Interesting and great job, Randy!
Have a nice day,
Cristina
Many thanks Cristina for checking it out and commenting, Very much appreciated! :)
good tips , thanks. im in the uk and dont see a support button. you should start a patreon anyhow. youll definately pick up some bucks and if people spend even a period of time checking out your content they can make a small payment and it all adds up. keep the channel going, its well worth it. cheers
Good tips. Knew most of this but still interesting and useful. Yeah, you do scare the hell out of me with that damn wire cutter. Jeez.
Thanks for the many great videos. Any ideas for a tool i could use to partially scallop the bass side braces through the sound hole without having to remove the back?
How ya going mate. From the land down under Australia. 😎😎I just subscribed. Love your vids man. Keep them coming.
Thanks buddy.
twangbro
Very cool of you brother thank you for the support! Very much appreciated! And thanks for the report! I'm glad it went well for you. I've seen people fight the pins to get them out and if they only knew the correct way they could save themselves a lot of trouble and time. Thanks again my friend!
Hey Randy, I know one thing it is hot down.!!!!!! Good video🎸🎸🎸👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼😊
You are 110% right! It was hot here today and I do mean hot HOT! Did I mention how hot it was hold on! :) Thanks Steve!
Hi Randy, great video! I have a Sigma DME and it's got 0.12-0.53 (I think) and I want to change it to 0.13-0.56 but I'm kinda scared it's gonna mess it up...Anny advice?
great tips. I usually dread restringing my guitars so any tips are welcome!!!
I hear ya man, I don't enjoy it much either, I really dig the sound of them tho until they need changed again. Thanks for tuning in!
Thanks Kevin! No I've never had one to slip, I know the technique you're talking about tho and see people doing it that way.
Some good tips man
No worries Randy mate, will chase your link and donate.
Thank you mate! Cheers!
Cool types. I will us those. When selecting replacement is there anything I would need to be aware of (material, size etc.)? Thank you. Sounds nice.
Peace!
Joshua Doty
Ahh the bridge pins you mean? Only thing is you might want to replace them with the same kind, if they are bone then I would replace them with new bone ones, but if you wanted to upgrade to something like tusq then it would be a good time to give them a try. Different material they are made of can effect the soud of your guitar.
+Randy Schartiger yup bridge pins! Thanks.
