Be nice to DQ2006 (Qld Rail 1465). He is about to turn 60 in July 2024. Not many Qld Rail DELs get anywhere near that age. DQ2001 is only turning a younger 56 in July 2024.
Bob Browne would be quite distressed at seeing all that smoke emissions. So what is the issue with the Caterpillar powered "TR" class? Great rural scenes Ted, they really compliment the video as the train meanders along.
Hi Adrian. Yeah, 1460 and 1502 class I think it was. It looks like 2001 on the front and burning crystal clearly was 1521, where as the totally knackered 2006 was 1465. I think ive got that right.
@tedbear4243 I missed out by a week on getting Qualified on the 1502's they had one up from Mackay at Stuart for a service. They had them on the Sarina sugar shunt and were going to send some out to us in Emerald as second units when we got short of locos on the Grain trains. They never did come out though. Pretty sure 1521 was on suburban passenger working till it was withdrawn it was painted in the Bronco colours. Nice vid.
Your videos are awesome. I look forward them. The music detracts from them though. Is it possible not the have it. Would love to here some you've uploaded already without it
The drone flight is really cool! Makes it all look like a model railway layout.
From New Zealand, Great camera work and sound, obviously a broadcast camera being used,, but struth, the gay 1980s elevator music ..... :-)
It's great to see that u have uploaded! Amazing work ted!
G'day Ted, I was right next to you that day at Violet banks. yep, the old girls were working hard
That's the 'normal' consist of 17 wagons that the 2 x 20250 class normally haul.
Context being Hunter Valley and Qld coal trains. Actual REAL coal trains. 17 wagons is hardly a coal train!

2006 is the oldest of all Dq's in Tasmania and the second oldest Dq in the world.
Not a dynamic brake in sight, good heavens, how did the drivers survive?!
why did NZ not follow Australia with large gauge rail lines?

They do suffer from some electronic issues.
Were these our old 1460 class Ted?

@@tedbear4243 2006 has always been smoky.
Ted is your mic a Cat product also?
haha, and assembled by Progress Rail 🤣
In this instance it was operator error, an incorrect input setting on this fancy new camera 🤦♂
Yes plenty of unburnt fuel out of the stack (black smoke)
Just like the 830 Alcos
Maybe they should put some more coal in the wagons make the load worthwhile put an extra loco on
Hmm... what's "mini" about it?
Just think Hunter Valley and Qld coal systems....17 wagons?
