More please, canals are much underestimated thank goodness, more room for me. One of the best fishermen on TH-cam, no fancy stuff, just your skill and knowledge, love it.
Stumbled across your channel whilst looking at sea fishing videos. Started at fishing through coarse fishing as a kid and I find your videos really good to watch. You're a brilliant presenter, enthusiastic and knowledgeable and make great catches. I'm sure you encourage hundreds if not thousands of others to get out there and fish, so you do so much good for people that you probably will never realise. Keep them coming and thank you for your efforts to share your wonderful fishing adventures. 👍😄🎣
sometimes wish i was back in good ol blighty fishing i miss the lakes ,rivers and canals.. but im here in tennessee deploying what i learned to the american rivers and lakes. iv been here for 21 years now and everything is bigger .. but i seem to catch good big cats to over 40 lb ..striped bass well over 40lb. carp lots of them. stergion . drum. the list goes on . but i miss the tench . bream .barbel. roach n all them awesome fish..... anyway thanks for doing these vids man im binge watching all of em . still not done yet .. watching you brings back so many fond memories
Love your channel mate just found it yesterday I'm out the country your making me miss fishing. What a cracking tench don't see them so much in my local lakes these days.
Chris, when I saw that bunch of elderberrys in your 'B' roll I thought you might be about to give away the secret of my favourite fishing method. Find an elder in full, ripe fruit overhanging the water. Take one bunch for baits and trot a light float under the tree. To bait up use a bamboo cain to tap the berries on the tree occasionally . Perfect natural loose feed and it's free! Chub, dace, Rudd and roach go mental for it but, be ware, the bites are lightning fast. I'd love to see you do a video on it.
I didn't know the canal held tench the Leeds and Liverpool canal in wigan near me hold carp but I've never managed to get 1 I've been watching your stream fishing vids and river fishing ones and since then it's made me fish a tiny stream at the bottom off my street and I've had a few little chub and a couple or perch couldn't get the into the bigger chub they just bugger off hahaah it's only about a foot deep in it's deepest parts unless we get plenty off rain but I'd defo fish it again thanks for the great vids
Great session Chris, love the Tench I've never caught one 😢. Awesome Bream as well 👍. No rain for a change Chris, I'll be looking forward to the Tench video . Take care mate all the best from Downunder 👍
@@The_ginger_fisherman , hi chris there are Tench in Australia. They were introduced in 1876 , we have carp as well but they are clased as a noxious fish . We have Perch ,they are called Red Fin . All my fishing is salt water .
Awesome sesh Chris. Where there's Tench, there's Bream.☺ Hopefully you'll bag a couple more Tincas on your next trip out fishing the lift and sleeper with corn.👍
@@The_ginger_fisherman most likely, don't get much chance to go on the river down there usually go on one more local to me👌 waiting for that video you was recording haha
@Mark Hepworth Totally agree. I think match anglers, as good as they are, tend to make life difficult for themselves. Even on a bitter February day I have caught small fish on heavy gear.
I’m hoping to get out fishing next year so just learning tips and tricks really, wondering if canal fish are edible amongst any pollution going on? Or if you have to be specific about the particular localities?
Try prawn for tench they are deadly. I go fishing with my youngest daughter and I call her the tench whisperer. If there are tench to be caught she will find them.
Nice tench....but those were solid and no doubt slimy , smelly bream...maybe one day you will llift the rod to feel a canal carp thumping ao tear away drag...on the line...
Nice fishing mate greetings from czech republic i love tench fishing :-) By the way not in any negative way when you talk looks like you have vampire teeth kinda cool keep up the good work
Not really local, but I know of some waters that arnt too fat away. Might give it a go sometime. Think I'll have to get myself a zander first the tick that of my species list
Tench please, all my success in this type of[WILD ]fishing has been with pre-baiting find the swim, bait it, go back 2 days later pre bait light and fish the next day you will bag up or blank its as simple as that nice fish Kind regards Mr D
Yes buddy been working on a canal stalking video which has been hard work. But I'm thinking of getting some proper carp gear and doing it properly in autumn
Wanna see what you can do in a wide deep river my mate as that's all we got 😭I've watched your chub fast flowing videos but might be me not scrolling fr enough not seen much wide slow flows let us know 👍
You encouraged me to go coarse fishing and I caught a 3.5lb bream hybrid on the Canal in Kildare, Ireland :) thanks for all the vids and tips
I was there

Iv cot some big tench in kildare too check my videos and big pike

100% want to see more Tench fishing. Enjoyed that.
Go on then lad
Tench have always been my favourite fish to catch. They evoke the feeling of summer to me.
Me too. Even though I've caught a 145lb sailfish off Acapulco, nothing beats a June dawn watching a red float next to a lily bed . . . . .

Love your videos mate keep up the great work you are doing
I've been catching tench on grasshoppers. Cant wait they will be spawning soon. They even bash hatches here in Tas. I've got some good Tench catches.😀
First bream I've ever seen fight back!🤣🤣
Both of them took off like rockets on the take I was shook 😂
Top man with another top video
That looks like a good size for a mobile (8:59), can somebody tell me what it is please?
Just goes to show that you don't need one pound bottoms and 24 hooks! Good fishing!
I fish the Ashby canal and never go bellow 5lb straight through! Had some great perch.

How do those Tench survive with all the pike
Can you do what's in your bag? Changes it up a bit.
Great vid mate👌🏻 any chance of a canal carp video?
Yes buddy been working on a canal stalking video which has been hard work. But I'm thinking of getting some proper carp gear and doing it properly in autumn

Great vid Chris, all three of those fish were very impressive. Do you get much boat traffic on the canal or is it pretty quiet? 👍👍
Depends on the time of day. If it's the middle of the day and nice and sunny then usually one every half hour or so.
Canals round here are like nesquick
Tench. Tench. Tench. Tench.
The canal you fish is like tap water. There cant be many boats along there. Unlike the Ashby where i live its like Chocolate
Probably gets 15-20 boats a day. Dont know how it stays so clear
Looks like the Basingstoke canal.
Massive ginger beard! "Men Only" beard fertilizer?
Aren't keep nets illegal now?
I didn't know this was uploaded today..
what canal is this ?
Why do you keep fish in net if not a competition
Fished canals for 20 years never once caught a tench from one 😳
Find a weedy disused one, the Grantham canal has a good head of Tench
