As being a recovering addict and drug dealer i have that problem like i always feel like if i died today i would not make it into heaven even though i believe in God. I feel like all the lives i destroyed and all the hurt i caused my family by getting locked up for years that no matter how much i believe or pray that GOD is still mad at me or i haven't done enough to pay for my sins. I do know that is says what Jesus done covers it but to me that is so hard to believe because i done a lot of harm and ruined a lot of lives so i can relate. It is a daily struggle
Have you truly repented of your sins? It's much more than just being sober (even though that is a huge part!). Have you turned from all sins? (Especially sexual immorality) Until you give up all sin, in every area of your life, you're going to feel uneasy about your salvation. And even still, it's a daily reprieve, in that you must pick up your cross everyday. It's not easy, but the peace of mind God gives you for denying your flesh is worth it. So is eternity in Heaven! Being a follower of Jesus is hard work, but He makes it possible.

You don’t have to tie everything to god just seeing how a pastor views what he is talking about would be more interesting than instead trying to tie everything in a religious way
