If you don't want to use htv glitter vinyl under the rhinestones can you use bling anything to make rhinestone decals for tumblers? Also if you use htv anything can you use a glue on top to secure non hotfix rhinestones? Hope these questions are clear 🤦🏾♀️
Which product would you use to make a dishwasher safe ceramic cup with water slide decals
We don't work with water slide, so it's difficult to recommend a product to use. However, we use ColorSpark Vinyl Shield to protect our Adhesive Vinyl decal, if that helps. -TRW Pilar
I just purchased some! Question: does the Vinyl Shield work with Sister PSV Glitter Permanent Vinyl?
Vinyl shield will cover either permanent or htv, it's just your final protective layer. It's best to have a more flat glitter surface than raised though, it adheres better. -TRW Crystal
So if making a car decal. Would it be better to use HTV and HTV anything to get a better look. Versus using regular adhesive vinyl, layering, then putting vinyl shield over it?
Hey there! We don’t recommend using HTV for car decals as it will fade much more quickly than adhesive vinyl would. You also don’t need Vinyl Shield overtop, it will last a long time without it! ☺️ - TRW Haley
Can vinyl shield be used on acrylic blanks. I make badge reels and key chains. Can is use it instead of epoxy other chemical alternatives
Yes, absolutely! Vinyl Shield can be used on a ton of different surfaces and materials!

Can you cut the vinyl shield as an offset in Cricut Design Space? So that it fits directly onto the image without any access.
For vinyl shield you want the excess. That's what protects the layer underneath, it creates a full sealed shield protecting the adhesive of the prior layer. -TRW Crystal
So question - not sure if this is dumb, but if you use HTV anything on a tumbler, for example, and you then put vinyl shield over it, is overkill or just an additional protection for the vinyl? Or would it then make the "sticker" too thick?
I wouldn't recommend using both! It would be too thick and there's really no reason to use both. If you have any questions about which to use and when, feel free to shoot us an email at info@therhinestoneworld.com

For the idea of HTV anything with a screen print on top: Would you put the print on first and then cut the whole decal or cut if first and put the print on afterwards. Or even putting the print on when htv anything is already on top of the surface?
And do you have a tip for getting the edges soft onto the surface, so it feels as smooth and coherent with the underground as possible? Been trying to find a way to put a complex image with an std transfer onto glas and with my decal the edges feel so apparent. Many thanks for your help
I would test on scraps to see which looked better to me. We don't add screen prints on top, so I don't have much feedback on that one :-(
The edges, there's not really a way to make things thinner unless you want to experiment with wet sanding the edges before applying, although that may make it appear cloudy. That might knock the sharp cut edge down a notch though if you're super careful. For sure experiment though, we don't want you to waste materials.

Can either of these be applied to stainless steel cups? I would like to sublimate a tumbler & add hotfix stones through the htv method. Is that possible?
Yes, you can apply HTV Anything to tumblers. We've even wrapped full cups in stones in a handful of minutes with it. We have tons of great videos showing how :-) -TRW Crystal

What is the advantage of using HTV anything with HTV opposed to using adhesive vinyl? Does this product make the sticker thick like adhesive vinyl? Can this be used on a ceramic mug with HTV?
When you press htv to our HTV Anything, now you have a larger surface area and those small details that would normally lift with use will stay attached. Plus, this can go through the dishwasher. The Vinyl Shield can be used over smooth Adhesive Vinyl to protect your decals. -TRW Pilar
New to TRW! Love it so far!! Question: If I am primarily making tumblers would you mainly use the permanent vinyl with Vinyl Shield OR the HTV anything with HTV? Or does it matter? Personal preference? Thanks!
Glad you found us!
It would depend on a few factors, including the design--if it has tiny details with lots of gaps or openings between objects in the design, we'd recommend htv with HTV Anything. The reason being, with the Vinyl Shield and permanent vinyl, anywhere there's a space in your design, the Vinyl Shield will need to have enough of a gap to be able to fit down into the gap and bond with the tumbler surface. The tiny details would be able to be pressed to the first layer of htv or to the HTV Anything, which helps keep them from lifting. Another reason we will sometimes choose HTV Anything would be to get to use the specialty heat transfer vinyls, like the glitter or reflective glitter, for completely unique designs.

Debbie DeShong, Yes. No need for the Vinyl Shield though is using Epoxy.
If I make a rhinestone name for a tumbler with bling anything, can I cover it with vinyl shield?
We don't recommend using vinyl shield on rhinestones, as it wouldn't stick.

Yes! We recommend cutting the Vinyl Shield by hand!

It is a decal that you use pressure to apply-it is not applied with heat.

Can HTV Anything with Glitter HTV used as a car decal? If it is dishwasher safe, I would think so, but I’m not sure. Will it hold up? Thanks! Or can you put only glitter htv on bling anything as a car decal?
We recommend using glitter HTV for mostly indoor projects! If you want a glitter car decal, we do have glitter adhesive vinyl that withstands weather!

Hi!! Question so the vinyl shield do you just put in top of your decals and cut around it by hand or use your cutter to do a contour cut of the design? Also does the vinyl have to be permanent or any specific kind?

It's best used with untextured permanent/adhesive vinyl.

Hello can we use HTV anything w/ HTV Vinyl w/ Vinyl Shield on top?
You can, but it's not needed over HTV :-)
If you choose to, remember you need a clean surface, and to overcut the shield to fully encase your design. Give it at least 24 hours to get a good grip on the surface. Surfaces with texture etc will not yield as good of results.

What is the frosted product that says Adhesive? I got that from you and it looks nothing like the vinyl adhesive that you use.
It could be one of a few things.... First, go to your account, log in, then check your order history. If it says you ordered: Siser Easyweed Adhesive, that's for using with foils, if it says you ordered Hotfix tape, that's for lifting the stones to place on the project then press with it on. If it says Bling Anything, that's what you press your stones to and transform it into a decal. If it says HTV Anything, that's for creating a decal from HTV. If it says Vinyl Shield, that's for layering over the top to create a protective barrier. -TRW Crystal
It says vinyl adhesive not shield but it doesn’t look like what you are using. It’s a hard not soft like what you have. The see through material is hard and sticky and the white backing isn’t sticky. But what you are using looks more lie my HTV anything softer.
Can you put printable htv on htv anything and it still last?
If you're using an ecosolvent printer, yes, the decal will be colorsafe. If you are using a home printer, no, the inks are not UV resistant. -TRW Pilar
What's the difference between vinyl shield and laminate?
The vinyl shield is only put on top of the vinyl unlike laminate.

I know the differences but was in a pinch for a certain color and have heaps of it in permanent and removable, I've had the HTV anything for some time now and have not used it, was looking for a "hack" I guess u would say for a way to use the perm/ for HtV... Is this any clearer
You cannot use Adhesive Vinyl on clothing. Think of the stickers the Dentist and Pediatrician gives to kids. They don't stick very well on their shirts but the second you get home, those stickers seem to WELD themselves to the table, their bedroom door, etc LOL. Adhesive vinyl can't take the water from going through the laundry nor the wear and tear/bending they'd go through on apparel, unfortunately. -TRW Pilar

Can you use HTV Anything for rhinestone stickers?
You can, but by using htv (if it'll be in the sun like a car window) the color will fade. For cups, etc, absolutely.
Window decals we prefer Bling Anything minus the htv step.

If it's a rubbery texture, it won't work, just like regular decal vinyl. But if it's a hard plastic then you're good to go as long as there's not texture (such as powder coat, etc)
